Get a PC. They are cheap theese days. Around 300-400€ for a fairly decent one + 150€ for a good graphic card. On Pc and with Geck you can fix the game by yourself and customize it like you want. It's christmas soon, convince your parents to get you a PC. You can have my second copy of New Vegas...I'll sell you for 60€.

300-400...so about 600Canadian, thats not to bad. However ive been putting off a kindle for far to long, however I will most certainly get one sooner or later, got a new computer about 2 years ago, could replace the graphic card, but its proccessor speed is quickly becoming insufficient

I can only agree. This truly feels like Fallout. All the little details, the dialog, the music, well...everything. It gives you that certain feeling that made me play both Fallout 1 and 2 all night long when I got them. Fallout 3 had it's good parts, but I could tell that it was made by the same people who worked on Oblivion and I'm glad we weren't stuck with it. Again, kudos to Obsidian for making this game. Even if it was a bumpy release with some frustrating issues, the creative content is top-notch in my book.

I agree. This game blows FO3 out of the water. I hope that Bethesda takes note, as it's their writing department that really sunk the quality level of the previous game. I love the skill checks, the ammo and weapon mods, the crafting; it gives the game more flavor, and it feels less like pandering. I'm also impressed by the fact that, although I haven't done so yet, you can actually join the "bad guys" in this game. Nothing pissed me off more in FO3 than the fact that even if you were bad, you still joined the BoS and didn't work for the Enclave, even if you sided with them and FEV'd the water. Even the expansion was [censored] in that aspect. You poisoned the water and it was still geting distributed, you still joined the BoS despite the fact you clearly had undermined them, then helped them eliminate the Enclave, only to destroy their base at the last minute. It was as if Beth had said, yea, people will want to be bad, but we don't want to bother with pathing an entire story for people who want to be evil. Even blowing up Megaton, it seemed to have such potential, I thought I'd get to Tenpenny Towers and it'd be a whole new quest hub, instead it had one, and then was just an extremely out-of-the-way storage house. They definately could have fleshed that out, and made it a comparable starting position to Megaton, a bunch of little exp building quest right at the beginning of the game to establish yourself as evil. On the other hand, New Vegas took about 10 minutes to introduce an evil faction you could side with right off the bat, with further quest paths to follow (again, I havent tried it but I assume Primm and NCR Prison have "evil" plotlines). Just the fact you can make enemies with the NCR is a huge step up, as my evil Character in FO3 I literally killed every non-essential BoS person in the Citadel, and the Lyons' were just as welcoming to me, even with their comrades corpse strewing the hallway around me while we conversed, sometimes with their bodies still burning from my shishkebob.

Long Story short, New Vegas is everything I hoped FO3 would be, and I hope that Bethesda gives Obsidian another chance, hopefully with FO4, if not the same deal as now, another FO after number 4. I really think FO4 would be awesome if Beth developed the engine for a new elder scrolls, then just gave Obsidian said engine and had them create FO4, not only would it shorten production time, but it would make the game better, as Obsidian and it's team of Fallout Vets are clearly more in touch with the FO universe than Beth is.

amen. I made a post about this as well but it was instantly buried in the river of tears from complainers who don't know what they're talking about.

From the moment I popped this in I though, "now this is fallout." don't get me wrong, i thought fallout 3 was a decent game....but it wasn't really fallout. My favorite part is the weapons. Now instead of 10 minutes into the game 90% of the weapons being obsolete trash and only about 2 guns are even worth using you can use a variety. In fallout 3 they might as well just have removed every gun except the combat shotgun and Chinese assault rifle because just about everything else was just there to take up space. Not so in New Vegas. It's so much more immersive and rewarding.

I love you fallout new vegas.

Don't forget A3-21's Plasma Rifle. Oh, how I loved that gun. <3

I may be in the minority, but this game didn't have the emotional feel that F3 did. No stepping out into the light and going: "Wow...this place svcks"....

Good game, but not gritty....It doesn't have that "Oh ****, what's around that rock and is it going to kill me?" feel.

That's the way I feel about it. It's almost as if it feels more third world than PA.

I am in total lust w/ New Vegas!!! My husband and I are HUGE Bethesda fans. We went together Monday night @ Midnight and bought our copies (his for PS3 and mine for 360). We have had very very minor glitches but nothing like some of those discussed on the net. I never played Fallout 1 or 2 but I banked many hours in the Capitol Wastes of Fallout 3. I have already put in 20+ hours and I work full time!! I truly can not picture a more enjoyable way to spend this winter than milling around the Mojove Desert it's Tops :disguise:

I played fallout on game tap and loved it but I am more familiar with Bethedesa games, thats why I was so blown away by fallout 3. But new vegas is SICK. Weapons have a purpose now, I can sneak critical 15 giant ants in a row thanks to weapon mods. I could never pull stuff like that off in FO3 at such a low level. Special melee attacks make me want to use melee weapons now. even ammo is more valuable now. FO3 shocked me more though just because it was first. Now only if the music was as good

Yeah, this game is giving me the same feeling I had playing fallout 2.

I am not that far yet, but I am expecting the game to be great.

At least once all the bugs are worked out, el oh el.

Now I consider this quite ignorant, I agree that theres no reason to be whining like people are. But they have a right to complain when a game comes out this buggy. I don't think you have the right to whine about people complaining unless you've been backed up 12 hours of gameplay due to falty saves, having lost 24 hours of gameplay because a quest character is missing, etc.

I know that obsidian is going to fix this soon, and ill wait, but that one part was pretty ignorant. Same goes for everyone else thats just whining because theres a dozen people "whining" of a few "minor" problems

On topic

I wish I had a PC :(, GECK, mods (probably more expansions and user made expansions) and all that stuff

I think you quoted the wrong post, as i didnt complain in my original post :) that being said, i have encountered bugs, but they dont take from the feel of the game! Ive encountered the savegame bug, had a few crashes and the launcher crashes about 75% of the time. still, i stand by my post of loving the FEEL of this game and did not want this thread to be negative or focusing on the bugs, but on the true fit into the wasteland/fallout universe :)

I have to say i totally agree with you my friend. i may feel different once i really start to rack the hours up with NV, but so far, my reaction to it was nothing like it was when i started F3. hopefully, that will change.

As one that has never played the first two Fallouts I feel that Ive truley missed something great. I started with Oblivion as my first rpg. then fallout 3 ...

Only thing Im thinking,am I good enough to really play this game to its full potential? I already know you cant just blast your way though it. Just not use to having a game that you truley have to think and plan and even go over an area a few times till you fully get it.

Will say, it will be very challenging, and great fun. I can see having wayyyy too many hours in this game. Thanks to all!!
