I remember playing the PC Demo. First i rolled over the jeep and killed the soldiers riding in it, and in the second interior i said "Waitaminit i was here already" and headed outside, when i remebered that the place i had been was on the other side of the island ..or whatever it was. The ringworld was intriguing though.

1) Your post didn't really make "sense". Sure, I've eaten ducks in my life, but never dogs.

2) If you didn't understand what my point was, I was trying to say that a game's quality has nothing to do with its oldness which is what you were implying in your post.

1) lol, ok, I'll give you that, I'm tired, it was a long night and I'm not at full brain function at the moment. I wasn't really thinking about what I was writing.

2) I wasn't trying to disagree with you, I didn't quote anything you said... I just put my thoughts. don't take it as a personal attack.

edit

Har har.

You don't consider games from 2001 old?

I never bought nor played Halo. It always looked just like another FPS to me.

You're either ridiculous or delusional or both.

you never really said anything. just "you don't consider games from 2001 old". it didn't sound like you were trying to say anything about quality. I wasn't trying to argue with something you said.

Can't I reply to something you've posted even if what you posted is not a reply to something I had posted?

you replied to mine as if. had disagreed with you...

No, I just replied as if I was disagreeing with you, which I am. edit: Actually, I replied as if you had posted a nonsense, which you had.

Can we stop going off topic now?

yes, after this, cuz it explains why I'm confused.

If you didn't understand what my point was, I was trying to say that a game's quality has nothing to do with its oldness which is what you were implying in your post. In other words, "old" doesn't mean "bad" and vice versa. Also, 10 years is old for a video game just as much as it is old for computers.

this is where you lost me. you never said anything about it.

You should take your old avatar back, I miss Alizee.

Now, not to be completely off-topic. I got the PC version of Halo some time after its release, can't remember exactly when. Still easily the best one of them (might go as far as to say it is the only good one).

+1 :whistling: :bolt:

About that other thing: I has it.
Quit playing mostly because of the first Call of Duty at the time though.

When it was new I played it briefly at a demo booth. All I remember was frustration with the controls. Couple of years later I tried the PC version, but it didn't hold my interest.

Agreed.

I don't think I've ever replayed through the campaign of any game more than I did the original Halo. I don't know what it was about it, but it just never got old. I played a ton of co-op with a friend too, those were good times.

I still play Halo and Halo Custom Edition on the computer occasionally. Damn good game, too. By far the most legendary FPS I've ever played, absolutely incredible graphics and setup for a game from 2001 (no I'm not implying it's old, I'm just saying it came long before some of these fancy modern games). Played that game all the way up until Halo 2 came out with my brothers, good times...

It makes me feel old to think people are looking back at Halo:CE and being nostalgic about it.

Disturbing, isn't it?

To answer the topic question, I never played it, or any of the follow ups. Didn't look particularly interesting when it came out and that never really changed for me.

I remember getting a call from my buddy on christmas day when he got the first xbox and halo. First time playing that game was just amazing. I was blown away. I don't think anything can quite compare to the experience of playing through that campaign for the first time co-op. Probably didn't even blink until the game ended.

Still a great game. Bought it from the XBL store, so it will forever be attached to my gamertag. :D

Ok, c'mon, to all y'all who saying that Halo isn't old, think about it. I'm 17 right now, I got that game when I was 7. That's nostalgia, remembering something from your childhood.

Time is relative. 10 years for a 17 year old is the majority of their life. For someone in their 20s, the past 10 years felt like it went by faster than it did for you.

I still don't think Halo is an old game. The Oregon Trail. That's an old game.

It's still the game I play most online - I love it. The challenge of having to lead makes it fun.

I remember getting my Xbox and Halo as my first game, I had for one begged my folks for it under the premise of being an angel forever and early birthday present for the rest of my life. Coming home putting in Halo:Combat Evolved. Me and my friends gawking at the graphics "OMG THAT FIRE LOOKS SO REAL OMG DID YOU SEE THAT WHEN I HIT HIM OMOGMOMGOMOGMGOMGOGOMG" good times.

Now that's nostalgia. I remember Prince of Persia on the old Apple computers at my school. :P
