Do you think balance will be fixed in patch 1.5?

There is no need for a balance. It depends only on your playing style. Try playing a mage focusing on destruction without heavily lowering your spellcost through custom enchantments...

Bethesda's lost its way somewhere in the last 6 years. They've basically sold out. Their games get simpler and balance is all but gone. Sad to see this day come.
How did they sell out? And balance is as it has always been in TES in my opinion.

Its getting easy for you ? Geez...I'm still having trouble with Frost Trolls.

Fire and/or fire balls work well...especially dual wielding. Blast once or twice then beat the crap outta them while they are burning. Unlike alot of players I concetrate on warrior mage...ie alot of magica with potions and a killer single swinging mace.

RPG we are suposed to get stronger, stronger and stronger.
And what is the GMs duty? To keep the game interesting. I'm all for being powerful at high levels, as long as the occasional challenge is thrown my way.

they delievered the game the modern gamer wanted. Look at all the awards theyve won for skyrim. There will be no changes.

I have held off playing Skyrim for about a month now as at level 37 the game had gotten too easy

I am at level 44 and I am still getting challenged and even killed by the game. 2H and LA are maxed or near maxed, Smithing is maxed and other support skills are in the 60's. There is nothing wrong with the balance. You created an overpowered character.

Increase the difficulty, don't use exploits to max out your gear etc

Balancing?
We need bugfixes and a CK that doesn't ruin NavMesh, dammit!

They sold out with Oblivion, and it wasn't a balancing issue. We will always get less of a game than what we could be getting if it wasn't designed for an outdated console.

I play Console, and the Achievement/Trophy system tells you to increase your difficulty setting. For me the game came set on Novice and then once I got to a level it said "Apprentice" and I set up another difficulty for that character. Did that for all the other difficulties and so on. I started with some ease for the game but that is so I do just die before I get a hands on play. Don't complain about the game not being made for you, just be happy you can play.

Bethesda has never done a balance patch, to my knowledge. They green lighted balance patches for New Vegas, but Obsidian was of course the one that addressed the balance issues and told Bethesda they felt it was neccesary.

Bethesda doesn't do balance patches. Single-player games don't need them anyway. Besides, they still have quests to fix.

What Skyrim could have used is a design that rewards trying out different builds better. Only characters with high lockpick skills should be able to open some things, only magic users should be able to use certain things, other things (like some locks) should be openable by either, etc.

Instead we have a funny system where you have to use lockpicks to open chests, but there's never any special reason to do so, where some quests won't progress unless you use a certain spell (rather than something with a similar effect), and where unique items aren't very powerful. It's like the "do anything" philosophy morphed into "I shouldn't feel unequal for doing anythign different than my last character."
um no that would svck and a reason why i prefer TES over other RPGs is because is not class centric.

Pretty much, except for the exploits, if it takes me 3-5 swings to chew through their armor then it should be the same for them, one-hits really bug me.
