Do you think "beta testers" are actually searching f

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 7:14 pm

I'm pretty sure Dawnguard will be riddled with bugs due to how Beth selected the beta testers. I know for a fact many of the ones selected only signed up to play the beta and not actually look for bugs to improve it. I predict that either Dawnguard will be bug-infested by release or they won't have enough time to fix all of them and dawnguard will be pushed back.

You don't find bugs. The bugs find you.

My god, these here graqes are mighty sour.

I feel sorry for the beta testers, no matter how hard they look there will inevitably be some bugs that slip through the net, or will require a lengthy and awkward fix on beths part, and when these bugs surface upon release there will be many a little childish finger pointed at the testers.

I suppose the silver lining to this is it's awfully fun playing with all these toys being thrown out of the collective pram - lol at those who can't see the beta forums claiming they know 'facts' about what it going on in there

I think some people intend to just play the game early and not worry about actually testing the game, but people tend to [censored] and moan about bugs, so it works out either way.

Nope. But then again I'm not dying to get the expansion, so Dawnguard doesn't bother me a bit.

I am really skeptical.

I know some are but a lot of users that just registered up for the beta got into the beta. I severely doubt they're doing anything but "lulz, we got Dawnguard for free and early kkekekekekekkekekekkekekekkekeke!"
Were you copying Tsubaki from SKET Dance at the end there?

But I agree, I doubt half the people who signed up are even posting about the glitches they found unless they are unable to continue the storyline for some reason.

I think the beta testers are indeed beta testing. Granted, the dlc will probably still be a bit glitchy but some of the beta testers are doing their part. Its up to bethesda to fix them.

I have to say, Beth said that majority of the chosen beta testers have been long-term members, however it seems that very few long-terms members have been selected yet they seem to be the only ones who are reporting bugs; whilst the new members who have got chosen haven't been on the forums from what I've seen since they've been chosen.

As well from the Beta Discussion thread, a few weeks back, the majority of the new members who were spamming every five seconds said how they have submitted to "PLAY OTHER BETAS" rather than test, and that even if they weren't chosen they would stay on the forum, yet they haven't been on in ages. It shows that even if they had won they wouldn't of stayed and would of left once they got the beta.

So I doubt the beta testers are looking for the bugs except for a small few who are helping to fix the DLC, yet I believe Dawnguard will still be slightly buggy on release. And those new members who were chosen won't be on until Beth do another beta test and even then won't be on once its over. Then at the last minute Beth will say US only and waste everyone's time.

Some of the winners haven't been online to report bugs since they have been given the code.

The Dawnguard Beta was never a beta, it was a contest to get attention. Especially if less than a 1% got in. Just a contest where you agree to a NDA.

I'm confused, when they said 1% of those who entered, do they mean international too if they do it's more like 5% that were chosen of those who entered.

Again...How do you get this information? You say "from what I've seen."...What have you seen and where have you seen it?

I would be willing to be that those who took the beta and offered no feedback will not be invited back for the next one. That's just my guess though.

I hope that I'm wrong and majority of them have pulled their weight and helped out rather than play for early release and a free copy. If not and they just wanted it to play, Beth really shouldn't give those few a free copy of the game.

The people who've won when you go on their profile and check their last online status; from a few who I viewed 4-6 days after the beta codes were released haven't been on since then. Yet I haven't checked recently so maybe they've been on since then.

As well from rumours from other members.

Beta testing or not, I still expect bugs. So it doesn't really matter one way or another to me. I'll get the dlc when I get it, and I'm expecting bugs. Maybe I'll be suprised, but I honestly doubt it. I'm sure the bulk of beta testers are doing their job, but beta testing a Beth game isn't going to be easy.

You are going to the profile of people who have won? How do you know who has won? You might be getting a few that have put that in their sig, other than that...

It's conducted in a restricted forum. Even going to a known profile will yield nothing about posting in that forum. So, that leaves you with just rumors. I wouldn't put much faith in what a few rumored members may or may not be telling.

Still, you have nothing solid to base your claims on. It's all speculation.

No, they have said that they received a code and an invitation to a private forum and have even asked if the e-mail is a scam (which someone wouldn't of said unless it is true or an extremely good guesser as well Beth told us nothing on what would be in the e-mail), so Its pretty obvious that they have got a code.

And when you click their names and go to their profiles it shows their last time on the forums.

I assume you are talking about...what...10 people? Do you realize how many people are in that forum? That small% of people that Beth is talking about are from thousands and thousands of applications.

Review some of the earlier posts made by myself and others from the Beta. Maybe it will give you a warmer and fuzzier feeling.
