Do you think "beta testers" are actually searching f

I got to for Tribunal. Found some stuff (like paying crime removing all gp).

So u play and that shows bugs. They get fixed prior to general release. Seems like a good deal overall.

Do you think "beta testers" are actually searching for bugs?

Yes, some of us are.

I haven't come across any game breaking bugs, unless not being able to marry the new follower is one. Also, where would I report bugs at? One of the few bugs I've come across is being able to walk on water and another one was a dragon managed to flip and walk on its head, and some others.

Todd Howard said the the expansion is basically done. The point of the Beta is to find what bugs come up through natural gameplay. Do you think that someone would randomly come across a bug that only comes up by stress testing the game? Sorry you didn't get it. I guess if you have to tell yourself everyone testing is doing a bad job to make yourself feel better, it's your problem.

I take it as more of a publicity thing than actually looking for bugs. The whole Microsoft deal means it couldn't have been released for any other platform to beta test anyway.

I'm sure if you get picked and never report any bugs you would be removed from testing. They most likely have some kind of a 'quota' system set up to ensure that people are testing and not just using the beta to play early.

^ Im in the Beta AND not in the United States. I can safely tell you all that it is being very well tested. I don't think I can say much else, but rest assured, we are certainly doing our jobs
Yes, a few pepole seem to care more about the DLC features and such, but the majority of people (I think like 300 members of the Beta Forum) are bug testing their hearts out. I hope Beth does this for the next one.
Well this is comforting, but can you tell me how smooth the experience is and how many bugs. Can you at least disclose that?

I ask only because Skyrim is an absolute mess with bugs still and I am coming at Dawnguard with caution.

In an interview they said they would do it again.

Or they could have, you know, not selected people that registered on the forums the same damned day they applied for the beta.
Seconded.

Hells no I don't think they're beta testing. In fact I think the whole beta test was a marketing scam and a PR move. A good one but one none the less. Ether that or they handled the beta incredibly poorly. Watch this I'll make a prediction, after launch there will be an entire slew of bug reports from gamers filling the bug report section of the forum.

Like employing people in RL, when figuring manhours for a project, you must calculate in a % of non productive time into that manhour. This "Dead Weight" holds true to the Beta.

However, all Beth asks is that you just play the game. Then give any feed back and discuss the game as you would on a regular release date, along with submitting reports on any issues you might have. They realize that not everyone is going to be an experienced tester and just play through the game with their main character and then that's it. If they find something, ok...if not, then oh well.

As far as testing, I will choose a questline and play each part of it several times. Each time I will do different things and basically try to "break the game". Like killing NPCs out of normal combat. Exiting dialog early and just any off-the-wall thing that may come to mind. Then, if I find something, I will run that part 10 times. (10 being the magic number for me.) and log how many times the bug occurred in those 10 trials.

Is everyone in the Beta reporting? No
Will every bug be found? No.
Will every bug that is found be fixed? No.

This is the reality. Chances are, the DLC will be released on time with a Day-1 patch. But this is just my own speculation. We actually have no idea what is going to happen or when it will happen.

I got into the beta, and look at me, they barely picked anyone, I was surprised when I got into the beta, and it's actually pretty well made. I am now working my way through the Dawnguard side of the beta. I didn't come across any game breaking bugs in the vampire side (playing on master) and I don't know where to go to report any actual bugs I've come across, I'd appreciate it if someone could link me to a bug reporting place.

please dont diss the beta testers, we have some great people over there that are doing there job, as well as DarkRider who has made a fantastic index to help the devs fix issues.

-will Skyrim and Dawnguard be bug free?
nope, probobly never in its whole lifespawn, no games are.

-will people sign up for the beta to only get the game early and free?
always, no matter what game or when.

-are people who dont get into beta's going to be upset?
always, no matter what game or when.

But we do have many people working on it around the clock, finding, confirming, and trying to fix bugs or exploits before this hits live. we also have many new members that did only make accounts for the beta AND have stuck around to report bugs. so dont be mad, dont be mean, and dont be disrespectfull. some of us are really trying to get things fixed that we know there will be rage over on these forums in a few weeks time.

It should be in the beta email you got... that is if you're telling the truth...

Honest opinion?
Not really.

It will still probably be more bug free than the main game.

how many bugs are still in skyrim that were in from the beginning and still haven't been fixed 6 patches later?

are we finding bugs and reporting them? yes

is beth finding fixes for them? only time will tell

i'm willing to bet that all the bugs we're finding will still be found by everyone else after release. beth will probably wait to put out a patch after every platform gets dawnguard

I wish everyone would stop hating on those who signed up to be able to apply for the beta. Just cause I didn't use the forums doesn't mean I'm not a true fan who just wanted dawnguard for free, I've got well over 400 hours in skyrim, and counting. For bugs in the main game I just used google and the answer was there, I never had any need to come here.

dawngaurd should be pretty bug free by the time it's released
