Always on foot, but walking, not running. I used a horse in my first 100 hours or so, but when it died I decided to always walk. I was bored of going up and down the horse on every fight.

Horse mostly. Just feels right... but it is very annoying to get off the horse for every wolf that fancies a fight. It would be nice to be able to speak to people from horseback as well.

same here, foot for picking ingrediants, horse for fast travelling, mountain climbing or over wieght

for example.. I just completed a quest- went through a fort killed lots of dudes, got all the armour and weapons... walked outside... placed all the items in a crate.... fast traveled to same location to get my horse there.... picked it all up - got on my horse and fast travelled back.... and BINGO

near enough 1000 in wieght  useful cash and barter build up =]

EDIT:- afterall, alot of wild west movies show a people having their "SADDLE BAGS" filled with their travel gear or other gubbins they find... horses are strong .... and skyrim horses are nordic horses... so they have to be hardy and strong ;) hell mine thinks he can take on dragons! =p

For me, it's either fast travel (losing interaction with the environment entirely for speed) or running (losing speed for interaction with the environment). It seems that a horse has the downside of each without the plus side.

I usually avoid horses in these games. The tactical limitations do not outweigh the tactical advantages.

lol, yeah but you got to admit the horse is like hard as nails, i wouldnt wanna one on one with him, my horse runs head first into dragons and beats the livin death out of em lol, i do tend to travel on horse because it makes the game feel complete, without him it wouldnt feel the same, but yeah it annoys me when he starts goin of rambo style, shouting ALL I WANTED WAS SOMETHIN TO EAT

After learning the suicidal nature of Skyrim's horses, I remained happy to travel by footwagon.

I used to travel mostly by horse, both for RP purposes, but also convenience in encumbrance (in that you can ride when over encumbered). Unfortunately I got so tired of having to get off that horse every time I was chased by wolves or some such thing, and then having to scour a square mile to find the friggin horse after every battle. Plus, when you enter dungeons, you don't always come back out where you entered, and I got tired of having to run back to the entrance again to pick up my annoying horse. I left it somewhere out in the wild. It probably died from cold, or got eaten by wolves. I tell myself it met a nice lady horse, and they lived happily ever after. Happy trails, Rudolf.

I think the horses are pointless. They do nothing apart from try and attack trolls etc and die. Waste of gold

Foot. Horses are a faff, to me. Difficult to steer, and ultimately quite dull.

Hey guys, i have a little question... Hasnt got much to do with this, but its a real problem to me and i need help...
The problem is, that im an asassin khajit, and i use 3rd person view ALOT! Just because it looks cool and you can look around a corner. The problem is, since ive become a werewolf (companion quest) my 3rd person view is extremely zoomed in. When i havent got a weapon drawn, i cant see the whole upperbody of my character, and its so for on the left, and zoomed in i can barely see anything. Before i became a werewolf i didnt had this problem. But, does it go normal again when i do the quest where you have to kill the witches and cut their head of and you cant turn into a werewolf anymore, or is this a never ending bug/mode or something like that?

yeah that has to be the most annoying thing, that it runs off during a fight, i understand why but sometimes he just goes to far and i often cant find the little bugger

There's a zoom feature for the 3rd person view so you can have your character zoomed right in/out or somewhere in between. You've probably accidently zoomed in whilst playing as a werewolf or something, i've not heard of any bugs of this nature. Hope that helps.

I think I've used a horse twice. The first time I stole a horse so it kept running away, until I couldn't find it anymore. The second horse I bought but it died when it fell off a pebble. So I just run or fast travel.

I wish that we could get Mount and Blade style horseback in Skyrim. Right now, it's too much of an inconvenience to use a horse.

for me, since the horse system is so atrocious, i use my horse simply for loot runs in my roleplay. yet, i often just hire someone to do the haul, instead.

sixgun- ya, i keep hearing about mount and blade (maybe even from you, lol.) i do know that the horse system in 2worlds1 was well done.
