Yeah, same here. And even at that I only used 37 points.
I'm also going by the games concepts...that is, where 5 may be "average" but you need 6 or 7 to pass almost any check...even tho some of those checks shouldn't require "high" stats, imo. Some of the INT checks aren't very intelligent, if you get my meaning. :yawn:

I just used all 40 but to be fair, I could use 35 and I would agree with what I put as well.

I expected more higher vocabulary, or more complicated wording, with some Intelligence checks. The only one that really sticks out in my mind, and I can immediately recall, is the

Most intelligence checks could have come from either common sense or another skill of some sort like when

You can pick an option when recruiting Boone that has 6 Intelligence. Wouldn't that fit Perception more or Survival if it was about sniper teams? I.E. Perception is realizing the need for a companion where as Survival would be more along the lines of, "It's a dangerous world out there. It's better if we stick together," type of deal.

Things like that. Or perhaps I'm just complaining that the checks are too heavily dependent on Intelligence or a skill related to Intelligence.

Agreed. There were a lot of checks in the game that felt like they should've belonged to another stat...or as you say, just common sense that imo, most "average" people have as good a chance as doing as an Einstein IQ sort. *shrug* Perhaps all that nuclear fallout lowered the average INT from what we today think of as INT. :whistling:

The Silus convo sticks out in my mind too. Probably one reason I liked that small bit so much.

S-1 I'm so old I can barely get up my bottle of Guinness up to my mouth. The day I can't, it's over.
P-1 I'm so old I can't hear [censored], I can't see [censored] and even if I could, I wouldn't care.
E-1 I'm so old that a lifetime of hard living is catching up with me. I did mention I smoke about 4 cigars a day, right?
C-1 I'm so old that the girls at the coffee shop I go to every morning call me "Mr. Grumpy".
I-1 I'm so old that I've forgetten everything.
A-1 I'm so old that my hip hurts when it's gonna rain. My shoulders click when I move 'em and when I sit on the ground, it takes a forklift to get me back up.
L-10 I'm so old I must be lucky to have outlived all those other [censored]s.

Repair- That's what I do. I fix crap. You name it, I can fix it. Well, except my marraige. OK. You name it, and if I give a crap, I'll fix it.
Guns- I recently won the Annual Southeast Michigan Shootapalooza over that Army doggie brother of mine.
Explosives- I was an 0341 in the Marines. 'Nuff said.

Not much good in a battle but priceless when it came to fixing things, making stuff and so on. You'd probably sell explosives and liquor on the side,too.

Str:7 to 6ish I can bench 255 pounds
P:3 to 4 need contacts but have decent hearing and smell.
E:8 to 7ish broke my arm twice electrocuted ran a marathon and did kickboxing fo some time now.
C:6 horrible with words and spelling however I'm complamented alot so yea.
I:6 had a 4.0 all year in three volloge course plan to to 4 nex year
A:3 some what clumsy
L:2 to 3ish bad things happen to me but not often

10 in STR means you can beat a supermutant at arm wrestling ~if you have the stamina for it.

my reason for the above is that i'm pretty much just above average at everything...and most people seem to like me
as for tag skills.
mine would probably be:
survival (i enjoy cooking)
speech (some people have called me a social genius, when they actually take the time to listen to me)
melee weapons (i like hitting things and have been known to do it with alot of force, though i've never really used one on a person, but seriously, how hard is it just to whack a person on the head with a baseball bat)
traits: good natured (while i don't really like hurting people, don't mistake me for a pasifist as i would not hesitate to kill if it was called for)

Perception 4-7 - I don't always notice things but for the most part I can, but I have excellent vision.
Endurance 6
Charisma 8 - Honestly I think I can talk my way out of anything so 8 is good enough for me
Intelligence 5-6 - I'd like to think I'm a little above average but maybe not.
Agility 6 - Pretty agile but I'm not going to be dodging bullets any time soon
Luck 1-10 - Really I can't measure this some times I feel like the luckiest guy in the other times I feel like I don't have any to spare.

Tags Speech (mentioned above), Melee Weapons (If I can pick it up I'll usually use it against you), Explosives/Energy Weapons (Playing with Fire and Blowing stuff up with fireworks counts right?)

Most part I'm average so I guess just give me all 5s lol

Strength 5: I'd say I'm average I'm not really a body builder but I'm not super skinny.
Perception 7 - I'd say I have a higher perception I have 20/20 vision and very aware of my surroundings.
Endurance 5 - I have average endurance maybe a little less endurance than average but
Charisma 6 - I'm usually good at meeting people and most people I meet like me. I wouldn't say I'm Fabbio but I'm good with the ladies :hubbahubba:
Intelligence 7- I'm no Einstein but I have a good memory. I admit can be geek/nerd at times.
Agility 5 - Probably should be lower but it works out.
Luck 5- I've been lucky at times but I'm no lottery winner.

This is all based on not having gifted trait and if you start with 5 points to add into SPECIAL.

Repair - I've always been good at repairing stuff, I've always been a hands on learner.
Speech - I can be a smooth talker and my mom says I'm incredibly good at lying, which I don't know if its a good or bad thing.

E- 8 Was good at long distance running at school even tho i never worked out or pumped some iron
I- 6 I would say i'm above average intelligence
C- 7 I'm somewhat anti social (all these violent video games rotting my puny psychotic brain that just has to kill stuff and reenact it ).But i'm insanely sarcastic says my friends so atleast it's memorable :tongue: .
A- 7I'm fairly sporty and i have a small frame so naturally more agile .And i always seem to have spare action points :tongue: .
L- 2 I'm quite unlucky

Charisma 7: not friendly per se, but highly manipulative and have a way with my sword.
Inelliginx 5: Average at best.
Agility 5: depending on where I am I can be agile or not.
Luck 5: Strange luck somethings get me others I get.

Skills. Lockpick, sneak, gah and speech.

I love that most / every gamer thinks they're smart and most take smart ( high intelligence ) PC's as well..... Narcissususususususus's I think.

Charisma- 6-7 (By nature I'm a little inept at casual conversation, but having a vast library of words and able to influence my tone of voice helps me convince people)
Intelligence- 6 (I'm not a genius, but I'm fairly smart)
Agility- 5 (Not a very athletic man)
Luck- 6 (The luck comes and goes, but I tend to rig my own luck from time to time)
