Your Favorite Place

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 11:25 pm

Out of all the places I've been in Skyrim, I'd have to say that I like Bloated Man's Grotto the most. It's a very beautiful place with lots of wildflife and greenery.

So, what is your favorite place that you have been to in Skyrim. It can be a house or a cave or a dungeon. Feel free to describe it as much as you want, but if you include any storylines please hide the spoilers.

Now, DISCUSS!!!
There are a handful of small forests contained within caves; very beautiful. My favorite is Shadowgreeen cavern, the one near Solitude with the rock spire in the middle and a path circling around it.

I have maybe 3 favourite places in Skyrim that come to my mind instantly. The open areas near Falkreath and Riverwood, Whiterun with the Beautiful Whiterun mod and Proudspire manor.

Any snowy area at night time when the aurora borealis shows. Takes my breath away every time.

I like the house you get in Windhelm, unfortunately the rest of the city is hella dreary. I was also quite fond of Sovngarde because the sky was absolutely beautiful and I enjoyed going inside Azura's star because it reminded me of Richard Donner's Krypton. I really enjoy the view from Sky Haven even if I think the Blades are ungrateful [censored].

The Rift. All of it. Just beautifully done.
The pine forest down by Falkreath is pretty snazzy too.

Riften's forest. The nature landscape on the way to the town is simply beautiful compared to the other regular parts of the game. Added bonus, looks near enough like one of my usual stomping grounds when I'm actually doing photography work. Does wonders for teh imagnation.

The road/area from Whiterun through Riverwood to Falkreath. The scenery along the river there is just awesome. But I guess my favorite place is the Rift. I love the lake, Riften and the entire area going as far north as the southern part of Eastmarch.

Not a fan of the really cold areas. Not sure why....maybe because I'm a Florida boy and all that snow and ice just doesn't seem natural.

Falkreath Hold. Loved the gloomy, foggy forests.

Winterhold was a favourite as well, loved the frequent blizzards and huge glaciers creaking and groaning as I traversed through winding paths cut between them. Also the Ice fields and such.

Whiterun I feel was the most beautiful city although Markarth is a really close contender (maybe Markarth wins). Also really liked hunting deer in the plains of Whiterun Hold.

Loved Solitude and Windhelm as well, Dawnstar too, in fact I love every single part of Skyrim. Even Riften (very much reminded me of Bravil in Cyrodiil) had it's appeal with it's run down state and it's disease ridden beggars wandering the rotting wooden boardwalks above the stagnant canol. As well as the stunning views of Lake Honrich.

Riverwood is my favourite settlement though, just due to the fact it feels like home, I feel so relaxed chopping wood while the river rushes past as well as gazing at the stunning forest surrounding it and the ominous sight of Bleak Falls Barrow in the distance.

I like a little cave just north of Falkreath called Moss Mother Cavern, it's a really lush and green environment with a cute little waterfall. The way the lighting has been done just makes it look great.

Aside from that particular place, I enjoy roaming around the forests, especially those around Riverwood.

My favorite places? Oh the usual ones, Blackreach, Sovngarde, that one tomb where you look down from the cliff and see a dragon wall at the bottom, the Forsworn place where you can jump off into that pool way down below.

It's pretty difficult to choose between Dawnstar, the Reach and the hotsprings...but I think Dawnstar.

Bard's Leap. Agreed....that is an awesome view and jumping from the summit makes me giggle.

Too many things but here's a few

Unlike most, I love Windhelm
Blackreach off course
The caves with underground forests in them
The area around Ivarstead
The Reach
Deepwood Vale
Looking at High Hrotghar from the area around Whiterun, whit the moon behind it
Last but not least, The aurora from the top of the tower of the College of Winterhold

Just Before Bleak Fall Barrows, there's an old watchtower occupied by bandits. I like that place, also my Humble abode (:

I do like the lookout at my home in Markarth , where you can see over the walls and the mountains leering over the city .

This is my favorite too.

I also like being on top of the mountains that look down on rivers on the clear, spring-looking days.
