Your Favorite Robes for your Mage...

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 12:00 pm

My character is a Wood Elf. He is focused on Archery, Thieving and of course, Magic. My question is... what are the best Mage Robes? I DO have the Arch MAge set from the College Quest but was wondering what is your favorite especially if you have a set that you enchanted yourself.

Thanks!

One thing I've noticed for this game is that you rarely find unenchanted robes if any. Feel free to correct me.

Besides that, on my first character when I knew very little about the game I went full mage and eventually was swapping "Master of ..." robes for my play style. 22% Spell Reduction and +175% Magic Regen I believe..

Get yourself a set of highest level robes of each of the schools. Occasionally you'll find me in thieves guild armor when I'm loaded up.

I had a hard time finding some too. Most of the time the blues and blacks are enchanted already. Sometimes if you're lucky though you can encounter a noble that has a robe. He's a jerk so no one will miss him.

I usually don't start enchanting until around level 30 or so. By that time i have come across a number of different robes that are unenchanted. I usually just go with what I think looks good for that character. Be that robes, clothes or armor. You can enchant anything to match or exceed those epic items. That is if you don't like the way they look.

Hooded necromancer robes.

Kind of terrible stat-wise, but they look cool on my necromancer.

Personally, I use adept robes, those look the best to me. I also enchant them with fort destruction and restoration. :)

I call em adept cause I don't remember how are uncenchanted ones called. But I'm unsure if those are 'legally' obtainable, I took mines from the clothing box in the test smoke cell.

Ah, I see. Unfortunately I am still about a month away from moving to the PC. Still I have not come across College or Green in the game in 6 chars and 1000 hrs.

Where do you get the red and green hooded robes from?

The only ones I have found in-game are blue mage robes, blue robes, hooded black robes, black robes, monk robes and hooded monk robes. And College robes and the Arch-Mage's robes. Plus the novice, apprentice, adept etc robes. I haven't seen any red or green robes at all. Also, if anyone knows where I can find hooded monk robes without killing an NPC, please could you let me know? Cheers.
