Your opinion on dragons

I like dragons. Its a new enemy type that is completely different then everything else and that is always good.
Hopefully in the dlc they will come up with new enemies that will blow our mind like dragons did.

Dark Souls' dragons are way more creative and versatile, with different combat abilities, styles, attacks, etc...

In Dark Souls, you might encounter :

A Red Dragon, that's normal

An Undead Dragon...

A Scaleless Dragon, who is the traitor to the ancient immortal dragons... AND...

The GAPING DRAGON, which might be the most original dragon I've seen in a looooong time...

And then you'll see that :

A LOT of times....

DS pwns.

Thing is Dark Souls is more for hard-core players and can be very annoying to those who doesn't want to die like over 50 times just to kill a beginning boss. I don't mind dying, and all, but once it begins to get extreme # of deaths then I do get annoyed and don't wish to play the game.. It is NOT like this for Skyrim, which is good for me but may not for you.

We all have our own opinions.

Now why would you laugh at one's opinion? Would you like it if I laugh at yours?

I think they are easily the best dragons ever in a video game other than the fact that they are such pushovers. I had to mod mine out to be more powerful and more of a challenge and it is much more enjoyable that way.

I agree, dragons should be more challenging but Bethesda always done that. They always make sure that anybody can do what is needed to do without having to be a major gamer. They do try to make it harder but they prefer to keep it closer to the easy side TES games. Idk about their other games.

Putting it mildly, they svck ass and are annoying as hell. I wasn't too excited about them in the first place, but once I started getting attacked a thousand times I was pissed, and wished Bethesda never put them in, plus if you do not use shouts they are pointless because you do not need their soul.

I hear you when I first heard that dragons would be in skyrim I thought there where going to be all different types but sadly there are only wyvern bodys

For now... Unless you're playing on a console.

OT, I really love them and I've played many JRPG/WRPGs and this is the only game that I know of where you can see a dragon from a half a mile away fly over to you and attack you in real time! As far as I know this is the only game in existence that have ever achieved the feat of fully realized Dragon NPCs.

My point was that Skyrim's dragons could have been a little more worked on, artistically speaking.

They are weak, one trick ponies, and lack diversity.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=O4H_dpw-EG0#t=54s game, and the upcoming http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hqixlXwcPo look to have better ones.

I can get them down in a few shots on just about all of my characters, which is kinda gross. My next character I'm not gonna venture into Enchanting with, so maybe that'll be a bit more of a challenge.

Enchantment isn't doing that.. Your bow's damage must be something like 500 or something cause me Bound Bow does a damage of 125 and I kill Ancient Dragons in about 40-50 hits.

Dragons are perhaps my favorite mobs to fight in the game. I'm always thrilled to fight one, and often I'll intentionally prolong a fight just because lol.

Edit: BUT I am IRRITATED when they taunt me by flying around me and not attacking. >=/

Vanilla they are way to easy and common. When u see a reg bear or a single giant or a grp of three guards take down a dragon by themselves..ya
With deadly dragons mod, they are actual dragons and u have to save BC good chance they gonna kill ya and ur gonna have a 15 to 20 min fight on ur hand so u better b prepared and take advantage of ur surroundings lol.

I have several characters and currently I've only unlocked Dragons with two of them. My original Dark Elf is now level 48 and went through something of a "dry spell" with Dragons. I had just remarked to my son that I hadn't encountered a Dragon in a while and...THEY'RE BACK! And making up for lost time. I am getting attacked constantly by Elder or Ancient Dragons every time I venture out. I'ts becoming tiresome.

Same thing with my level 21 female Redguard. She exits a town...a Dragon attacks. She goes into a dungeon...a Dragon attacks as soon as she exits.

It actually is nice to have a few characters that don't have to contend with them.

I wish it was. It's maybe like 150ish someting plus enchants to added 31 Shock/Fire Damage, so yeah. Might just up the difficulty, too, that's a fine option.

Maybe a normal dragon or blood dragon but I cannot see those things kill an Elder or Ancient Dragon.

Love. I ramp them up with mods. I even have an 'end of the world' game track where they have no respawn delay and pop out in twos and threes.

They look damn near perfect (I'd vary the colors a bit more).

They move damn near perfect.

They don't fight very smart though.

They bite heads off.

They dive bomb.

I've played many many games. Some even had dragons. But this is the first game that I actually believed they were dragons. The first real dragon fight you get into (not the crap one on the main quest), it's heart pounding and totally overwhelming.

My first real encounter came when me and Lydia were somewhere out in the snowy wilderness. "Uhhh, what was that?" A shadow. A roar. Music starts. "What is going on?" Lydia draws her bow and says "Come on! Is that all you've got?" I follow and there...

There's the dragon on top of a rock outcropping. Then, he breathes and my health shrinks. WHOA!!!

Lasted 5 minutes in real time. We won. Barely. What a thrill.

Even now, sometimes I get a good match up.

I know awesome can be an overused word but to me it just applies to the dragons in Skyrim. The long year posting here and waiting for the release, we all talked about how they might be. I'd never fought a dragon before so I was really hoping they'd be as much fun as I wanted. They sure are. I know some are easier than others but I can adjust my settings if I choose. I've had some amazing battles. I've watched my Follower fight them and the Dremora Lord get picked up like a chew toy when he gets in their faces. I've seen them dive bomb and swoop over shouting blasts of fire. They are just so much fun and they work beautifully.

I had the great pleasure of getting Skryim for a young family member (10 yrs) recently and last weekend I went to visit him. The game can be pretty intimidating because it's so huge but he had gotten out of the tutorial and was on the road to Riverwood. I wanted to help him go further and show him some things right through that first dragon fight. He really did great even when I wasn't saying do this/do that and his warrior is pretty strong. His dragon fight was pretty impressive too. :) He phoned me last night and was excited to tell me about the caves and bandits he's fought and I was really happy we have another budding RPG fan because he's a solid Halo Reach guy with his friends. He told me it was great after he fought that first dragon. He needed that battle...It's the amazing dragons! :)

Sorry that's so long but it was so much fun!

I actually feel kind of significant after I kill a dragon, as I am the only one that can absorb a dragon's soul. The fight itself is nervewrecking to me, but I love witnessing the part where the soul gets svcked into me, every single time.

I think they have a great screen presence and look phenomenal. But they're overused in the game and become a nuisance after a while.

Exactly. First play-through, I was in love with them.... until I realized they NEVER STOP.... not even after you send Alduin off to wherever. I haven't had them in my games since, because while I enjoyed them to begin with, now they'd just be way too much way too often as far as random encounters etc. I did the MQ once, won't do it again, ditto dragons.

As for dragons in and of themselves, in a game though: Beth did a MARVELOUS job making them seem "real" in the game. Can't fault that at all!

Pretty much sums my thoughts up. I actually encounter them pretty infrequently (Apparently because I never fast travel), but even at a rate of one random dragon every 12 hours of play time (RL time) I think they're overused, and not all that menacing.

I'd love to see the consoles get some "Deadly Dragons" love. Given them additional shouts (Marked For Death, Unrelenting force, and even Storm Call for ancients) would be something I'd love to see.
