I've survived a lot worse in games that are supposed to be "realistic".

Thanks, now I know another role I need to take on. :P

It's possible to survive being shot in the head. Probably had lousy aim and just injured you badly.

It's happened. People have been shot in the head and didn't even know it until hours later. Weird, but true.

*recalls many times during CoD when a shotgun from feet away didnt kill someone, and beginning to fire before the enemy as well as firing with a more powerful gun and more times than they shot you after turning around and then dying*

You get shot with a really crappy .32 pistol by a guy with only 12 for small guns skill, lol.

I've seen that.
In my neghborhood lives a guy who did the same. He's not pretty, but he's very much alive.

It's possible to be shot in the head and survive with little to no brain damage. Seriously, it's not all that unrealistic.

Just the first example I found:

a few years ago a new Zealand fellow survived a fall from 5000 feet in a sky diving accident. even-though he landed in bushes, doctors say that he should have died.

in 1403 a young king Henry the 5th of England was shot in the face with an arrow and with some medical enginuity he survived

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_V_of_England

Anything is possible. the human body is surprisingly resilient.

Keep in mind that CoD is an arcade shooter franchise and the only thing realistic about it is the setting. The gameplay is far from realistic.

Even better, Arma 2 (although the campaign is far far worse than the OFP campaign, the gameplay is improved).

that game was awful

Depends...if you like semi-realistic shooter sims then it was decent. If you like shooters designed to be accessible to the masses (like CoD) then you won't like it.
