I've experienced this one, too. Was it the Staff of Jyrik Gaulderson?

Halldir's Staff actually.

The Wiki listed this as a bug:

- Halldir's Staff duplicates when you kill him. It is possible to find one copy on the ground and another on his ghostly remains.

whats the speech glitch in riften & also Thieves Guild and Followers multiply my rare arrows.

The speech glitch involves going to the Black-Briar Meadery and repeatedly persuading the bartender to tell you about Maven Black-Briar, allowing you to repeatedly gain speech XP.

The arrows glitch involves giving or reverse pickpocketing a single rare arrow onto an archer NPC, who will then be able to use it repeatedly, allowing you to repeatedly collect the spent arrows.

More details on both of these can be found easily by searching.

I use the glitch where my armor and weapons don't wear out so I don't have to carry hammers anymore.

I don't want to come across as a moron, but I'm pretty sure you are thinking of a previous ES title.

I don't consider the hidden chests to be exploits because they don't level you up directly and they rarely give you anything that makes you significantly more powerful right then and there. Most of their value is in money which can be spent on training; and the filled soul gems save you a lot of time and hassle. So while it's exploit-ey, it doesn't seem like a true exploit (whatever the hell that is).

I've used the Soul Trap spell on a dead animal/person to a great extent but now only use it if I'm a point or two away from the next level and I need X perk for the next mission. I've also used Calm and Pacify on bar folks to level up extensively but got sick to death of it. Having 100 in Conjuration is way OP. To have 100 in Conjuration AND Illusion is absurd.

My first character has an armorstand in the Solitude house which replicated the waterbreathing mask every time I entered the basemant door. That's the only exploit I know I've used.

Falmer helm+circlet for extra alchemy slot
Restocking merchants by saving game , attacking them and reloading ... nothing too game breaking. I wouldn't dream of using fortify restoration or oghma infinium abuse.

Oh, and spamming muffle to quickly get to 50 illusion as fast as can be.

Oh yeah, I use the armor duplication glitch quite a bit.

People keep mentioning a "basemant" in Proudspire. Are y'all referring to the first floor or a basemant added from a mod?

The first floor (street entrance) is called a basemant on the map, IIRC. I lived there last game. My mannequins danced every time I came in that way. Freaked me out.

Was the Dawnstar chest changed in the patch? I went there looking for it, armed with photos and maps from online, and couldn't access it. So I tcl'd and went under, and it's waaaay below the ground and its trigger is actually on it rather than above it. Maybe those crafty cats got wise.

I plan to make use of Mehrunes Dagon's respawning shrine. I've pretty much cleared the surrounding area so I shouldn't have any problems accidentally entering the cell and breaking it. We will see, I guess. Now that I've switched weapons to work on my two-handed skills, fighting summoned daedra is fun again so I'm looking forward to it.

Ah. I've always used the common definitions of basemant and cellar. :P

I've always thought of it as a basemant as it's not quite as finished as the other two floors. And whats with the one room never getting upgraded?? It would be a perfect place for more manikins, armor stands, or another chest or two. Instead you get a pair of barrels and some sacks!?

PS3 I can't mod :( However my 1st character is the only one where the glitch happened. All 3 of my characters have that house as I just like the look of it more than the other large house.

Edit spelling

Yeah, in medieval terms the first floor was often referred to as a "basemant". I've just always used the common definitions: a basemant is below ground level and accessible from inside the house; a cellar is below ground and accessible from outside the house. :P

I think someone had looked at something like the CK and found that the unfinished room was supposed to be the housecarl's room, but it was left out of the final release.

That makes sense with all of the other sloppy code.

I like very much (and used it, the second time):

The 10,000 Septime-glitch/exploit at Lucan Valerius by the Speech-Perk "Investor".

I'm not sure I've heard of this one. Would you be willing to elaborate?

I enjoy doing this.

If you have the Investor-Speech-Perk und use it at Lucan Valerius in Riverwood, he don*t get the obligatory 500+ but 10,000+.

And because I'm from Germany and not an AE/BE native speaker (sorry for my bad english ) here is the link from uesp (look under bugs)

If you get the Investor perk in the Speech constellation and then invest in the Riverwood Traders they have 10K or 11K in their inventory to buy your items instead of the usual 1K. :o

I hadn't noticed this. Going to have to "invest" once my current character is cool enough.

Another 1 I use is wearing the Ancient Shrouded Cowl and Krosis at the same time. The 55% boost to Archery is awesome :3

Do the two clip each other? I'd be curious to see what that looks like.
