100% pacifist playthrough

Have veronica with you and give her boxing gloves/tape. Her portable workshop should be quite helpful.

How are you going to get her to stop attacking something, eh?

What about her default weapon? Its damage is way above both.

In a totally pacifistic run, as in no killing by anyone ever, boxing tape wins because they can't kill people.

I gave veronica the gold gloves on one of my playthroughs and she used them. After there knocked out she didn't aggro anymore. Then again I'm on the 360 and it might of been a bug, but I doubt it. She died shortly thereafter and I picked up lily.

Well, I'm headed out of vegas now and might as well swing down to see if she will equip them. I doubt she will, and I also doubt she will stop attack if she did. With swiftlearner and well rested, you can leave freeside level 10 and not even touch the vegas strp with well rested/swiftlearner. I picked up math nerd at 10 cause I figure I can let myself drop that low while I run around doing things and even if im being attacked with my current DT I'll have like 40 DT and only take min damage from most enemies.

I think this is going to be my next character. I guess companions are fine to keep bak in town or something, but cant be taken along because they will invariably kill something. Very hard mode to make it even more challenging. I think I'm going to go with 50 in melee so i can use knockknock on crowds to either run away or knock them out cold with goldengloves/cattleprod. Travel light to make my get-aways/out run enemies. I suspect turbo will be my best friend in the really tough quests.

Obviously I won't be able to compolete any quests that directly involve killing people, but it will be interesting to see just how much stuff I can get done.

Besides the Very Hard Mode I already completed this quest [Normal/hardcoe]. The only thing you have to avoid is Deathclaws, Cezadors, Super Mutants, Golden/Fire Geckos. All other enemies will run back to their responded spot after a short distant and also you will need to get the NCR uniform from the dead soldier in the coyote cave south west from Primm. I think it's called 'Cross Roads' or something. You will no doubt need your speech skill set to 100 well, I have the video set to my post if you care to watch. Basically when traveling you need to know where everything responds and know that when you're chased you can jump off an rock or cliff and the enemy won't follow your path. They will walk around to get to you and that space will also cause them to go back to their original location.

Interestingly enough, I haven't come across a quest I couldn't do while a zero kill number. Had a bit of moral debate as to whether or not letting boone blow whatsherfaces head off qualified or not though. Heh. Not that beating someone unconscious is in the realm of pacifism to begin with.

It is possible to complete the main questline that way. Also, you should get a 12 guage shotty and fill it with beanbag rounds.

this sounds really LAME. what is the point? your character doesn't kill raiders that are going to kill others out of the goodness of his heart?

lol so what's the proper way without it being a joke?? ^_^ Isn't it funny that it's even possible to defeat the game without killing anyone?? That was my purpose of doing this. Sorry if I offended you.

It's impossible. You still will have to kill someone going through the main line. I'm sure of that.
A cazadore I think. Cause you will not be able to run away from them, they're fast. And it's inevitable to meet at least one.

Actually, you were the one who came into my thread saying "i already did that but on normal/hardcoe". If you would have read this post of mine on the first page, maybe you would have realized you are in error when assuming such. The point os this was not to finish the game as soon as possible, but to finish as much of the game as possible. I've reposted it below because you probably can't be bothered to read it otherwise.

Ya, I know the MQ wouldn't be too diffcult to finish without killing anyone with turbo and maybe a stealthboy or two. And ya, you don't have to fight the last dude if you have 100 speech, but the MQ really isn't a big deal and I'm not concerned about it.

I already have a thread here detailing how to beat the game on very hard in an hour(minus load time).

I once did a "Caravaneer" role play in FO3, but it would require you to bring a companion as a guard/to hold things, but I didn't fight myself. The whole point of the game was to decide what I wanted to sell, and just gather all sorts of junk and only trade it for whatever I chose to be a seller of. For ex: In this game, you could roleplay a Gun Runner and collect junk from anywhere and only trade your junk for weapons, which you would try to repair up to 100% through Jury Rigging, or weapon repair kits and then sell back for profit. If I had time I would do a roleplay char similiar to this but unfortunately, I'd rather do combat until I get bored. ;)
Good luck!

5 in strength is plenty and i play hardcoe mod. i picked the strong back perk which adds 50 carry weight and also if you have 70 in barter you can pick the packrat perk which reduces anything 2 lbs or less by half. :) i want to make a high barter skill just for that perk. i only put in a couple of point in barter to keep it in round numbers.

Barter meh. I'm not a fan. I'd like it more if it wasn't so easy to make tons of caps.

Cazadores are definitely the worst enemies for this build. Deathclaws are surpisingly pathetic against being knocked out.

Well if you complete the Quest in any other form beside Independent you have to kill someone dude. If you go through the legion=kill NCR, NCR=kill Legion, Khans, etc. If you let your companion kill other person it goes as your kill, I don't believe you would have enough resources to just render every enemy unconscious, and you won't be able to do it to a group of raiders, nor it would help. If you do the side quests most of them lead to kill something along the way or as the quest. If you happen to run across an Cezador, Deathclaw, Fire/Golden Gecko you have to kill them because they are too fast to get away from without conflict. I completed the game without fighting and killing anybody. Any type of limit you're setting is your own set of rules, but to be "100% Pacifist Playthrough" you have to be a pacifist now don't ya?? And I was letting you know, that I have completed that. I may not have done the side quests you wanted to do, but doing more of anything makes it less possible to go through the game without an single kill added to your stats. So what's your problem?? That I have completed your quest or that it wasn't by your standards?? How were you wanting to complete the game any different?? What faction do you think you could side on and still not kill anyone?? If you do join an faction, that alone means you have to upset another by doing something i.e. kill an other faction member. It's apparent you don't believe what I did qualifies as completing the game as an pacifist, so what does man/woman.....what does??

I don't know what you're talking about me assuming something. I never said you wanted to do this as soon as possible, you posted that on my thread "I can easily shave an hour off even on very hard." Send me the thread where you completed that, I would watch.

A trick you can use to avoid combat is
Spoiler
Recruit Ed-E and then leave him behind somewhere safe. You'll get his super high perception perk and it will be MUCH easier to avoid enemies. The true bonus of this is that you can leave your perception super low and use the points elsewhere (as long as you can avoid enemies long enough to recruit him). + Leaving him behind means he won't start fights.
