360 owners, get ready for a nasty day one bug

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 11:36 pm

This is actually a conspiracy to hide the fact that Skyrim is really Oblivion with a texture mod.

this^

it really isn't a significant issue. I sure it will just have to wait to hear a response from Bethesda, if at all. It's not really to much different from what Oblivion had.

I'm sure the problem with textures has nothing to do with the Xbox console hardware.

That's a nasty bug?

Get over it. It's not game breaking.

I think everyone should take a large doseage of chill pills and relax. Skyrim is less than 48 hours away and I"m sure Bethesda is well aware of the "Problem".
THis will be the best game you have played all year....so quit sweating the small stuff :tops:

I will find out on the 11th with my legitimate copy if this is the case. There is not enough proof as it stands to lose sleep over this. For all we know the pics could have been photoshopped.

Look, I sympathize with people here. I hope this issue is either false, or gets fixed promptly. Issues like this are not good for anyone, consumer's or Bethesda alike, even if it does not directly affect you.

HOWEVER,

If you are NOT a member of the Press that has received a review copy, then there is NO SUCH thing as a LEGITIMATE EARLY COPY of the game. The release date is 11/11/11 ... PERIOD. I don't care if you paid for the game or not that does not wash away the fact that the law has been broken (Street Date Broken) and magically makes it legal.

Come on people.... lets at least be honest, and call a mudcrab a mudcrab here.

Actually not legal for the retailer, for the purchaser it makes no difference,

And for those who keep missing it, there has already been an official patch released for the Xbox version!!

And since u seem to have missed it: 1: The game is not officially released yet so some problems are natural. 2: If a patch is out now it was made before anyone noticed this problem. The releasedate is in 2 days so by then or during the first days a new one will be out to fix the problem. 3: This problem does NOT affect everyone. Several people who has the game say the textures are as they should be. Which makes sense seeing as the guys at bethesda haven't noticed this when playing themselves.

Official reviews are blocked until Friday.

THAT'S when we'll find out the lowdown on everything from the gameplay to technical issues.

Just until tomorrow. Not Friday.

Not worried at all :vaultboy:

I am confident Bethesda will deal with any issues that arise~ I will still play Skyrim on day 1, i will let the GAME speak for itself~ Not anyone else~

This all smells like one big lie to try to reduce sales imo~

P.S: COD svcks :spotted owl:

LOL. It's illegal for a store, but not illegal for you to buy if they sell. Legit copy today is the same as legit copy Friday. Not rocket science.

I'm not overly bothered about 360 graphics as I'm getting it for the pc, I'm just trying to set the record straight, people keep saying "the game is not officially released so there can be no patch", when in fact there is an official patch already.

This game was made with the Xbox in mind, not PCs. I'm trying to figure out why so many PC users are so F-ing snobby. Some of us can't spend tons of money on custom PC's or even for simple upgrades. I waited until Black Friday three years ago for my computer. It's not the worst, but it's not the best. Would I love a new computer built just for gaming? Hell yes. But do I have it? No. I have to "make do" with the 360 and it's so-called inferior hardware. What I'm tired of is reading and seeing PC users constantly being smug about how nothing ever goes wrong for them, and "my graphics are so much better than yours" mentality. What? Do you want a cookie? A shiny gold star?

PC users taunting the console users is getting really old.

Doesn't bug me it all. I paid for it expecting a Bethesda game - so I really don't care at all.

**Mods, please don't lock... this is not a discussion of piracy. People with legitimate copies have reported this and other people need to know. This bug needs as much attention as possible.**

Of course I am talking about the texture load bug on your character. (See http://images.lazygamer.net/2011/11/fneaub.jpg and http://images.lazygamer.net/2011/11/34xer84.jpg pics.) This has been confirmed by those who have gotten the game early (legitimately.) Contrary to earlier reports, this bug is not caused by installing the game to the HDD, and it not fixable by clearing the cache or the Day One patch. What causes the issue is going into and coming out of the menus. When you come out, the textures on your character are lower rez than they were before entering, giving them a nice, blurry look. See the pics for an example.

This has not been confirmed for other platforms. I just want to thank Bethesda for missing such an obvious issue during beta testing. Hopefully we get a fix with a Day Two patch. Haha. :(
i know a troll when i see it,you want it to be at the top,and not lock it,oblivious troll is obvious btw im going to report you!

Got both PS3 and X360 version today. The bug is still there after the day 1 patch which is version 2.0. The bug is NOT on the PS3.
I have no idea whats causing this but it's there. To me it seems that it happens randomly. It's not only the sword but environment to like walls etc.

Lucky you, wish I had a rig good enough to run Skyrim :) Anyway, I didn't mean there wasn't any patch out yet. Just that if its out now it might have been finished before this problem came to light. So we should expect a new patch soon after release to fix this problem ;)

As far as I'm concerned, if there's a patch out now it may not be the day 1 patch since we're technically at day "negative 2." Wait and see.
