360 owners, get ready for a nasty day one bug

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 1:13 pm

**Mods, please don't lock... this is not a discussion of piracy. People with legitimate copies have reported this and other people need to know. This bug needs as much attention as possible.**

Of course I am talking about the texture load bug on your character. (See http://images.lazygamer.net/2011/11/fneaub.jpg and http://images.lazygamer.net/2011/11/34xer84.jpg pics.) This has been confirmed by those who have gotten the game early (legitimately.) Contrary to earlier reports, this bug is not caused by installing the game to the HDD, and it not fixable by clearing the cache or the Day One patch. What causes the issue is going into and coming out of the menus. When you come out, the textures on your character are lower rez than they were before entering, giving them a nice, blurry look. See the pics for an example.

This has not been confirmed for other platforms. I just want to thank Bethesda for missing such an obvious issue during beta testing. Hopefully we get a fix with a Day Two patch. Haha. :(

Just curious as to how you know for a fact that the day one patch will not fix this issue seeing as it is not yet day one and noone has access to the day one patch yet...?

The difference is negligible, imo, and will be fixed soon I am sure. This will in no way keep me from enjoying my game, but thanks for the fore-warning anyhow.

Of course you use pictures that were taken from a pirated version of the game that were uploaded to a certain website with a questionable reputation. Smart.

This does not affect me since I am a PC player... I just think you're freaking out over nothing

The patch is already out, and people with legitimate copies have it downloaded already. It's just waiting for everyone else.

From the website I read it said installing to hard drive fixed this.

I'm almost certain the patch will arrive on the 11th 00.00.

AND why does the after picture even have blurred edited text compared to the first one? Something tells me these screens have been tampered with.

I know a few people with Xbox360 copies who haven't run into this. So it's obviously not caused by just going into-out of the menus. It'd be far too easy to replicate and they absolutely would have come across it.

From what I read, it's just the player's items in First person mode too. It's not like the entire game instantly turns to a muddied mess.

Love how you guys dismiss bugs because you think everyone pirated the game. It's out early all over the place, and people who pirated cannot download the patch. Come on guys. The issue is real and will be in YOUR copy as well.

I agree it might be on the 11th, but we'll just have to see and wait.
Besides if you only care about the graphics rather then the story of the game... C'mon!

I barely notice a difference there... If it is a big problem then I can't download a patch anyway. Will have to wait until i go home in December to connect to Xbox live <_<

Meh, I can live with that as long as it doesn't last longer than like, 5 seconds.

I like how you assume everybody has this bug when a small percentage got their hands on the game, legal or otherwise. Besdies it is not a game breaking bug and it should be resolved shortly after launch if it is as "nasty" as you make it appear to be.

In before lock. This has been up 5 times. Game has not been released. I've seen 2 pictures claiming to "prove this" (the ones the op posted), speculation from 5 people on here, and texture discussions by people definitely with pirated copies.

Thanks for the breaking news. I'd be interested in which HDD this is on, new Xbox HDD or the bolt on ones of older Xbox.

Amount of Care being paid towards this bug: 10%
Amount of care being paid towards actually getting the game release day: 90%

90% > 10% :)

How do you know that this problem isn't caused by the HDD/ disc but by the menus opening and closing? I believe there is a problem but are you sure that this is the cause of it? How do you know?
