After paying $10 for Dead Money

Post » Wed Dec 15, 2010 10:07 am

Why are you guys beating fo nv in 5 or even 25hrs. You just cheated yourself of over 200 hrs of game play. My first guy is sitting there waiting for HH with 264hrs. My second guy is at 74.

Why rush through it at all?

Fo3 I had over 450hrs in my first guy.

I don t think this dlc will be as good as DM. DM was unique......... We ll probably never see anything like it again.

I ll have to wait for PS store to reopen to see how HH is.

Alit of people were just so excited about the dlc coming out that they rush through I and beat it to quick, I havn beat it yet either, my advice try at a lower lvl I did it at lvl 13 and it's been extremely fun fo me! It's a extremely cool environment I got exactly what I wanted out if it new quest more chances to gain xp and awesome loot isn't that what most people want out of a dlc? I mean it really all depends how u play RPGs, I personal play them for questing and lvling up, also good stories are a plus lol

At this point I m looking for stuff that can beat my ass.

DM, MZ aliens in battle suits, PL tribals in the mansion, BS reavers in the presidential metro.

At this point In a game I m looking for a challenge.

That's pretty easy - Because I'm not a crawler. As in I'm not the kind of person who needs to see every single cave, every single detail or every single npc to enjoy a game. At the same time I don't rush through a game. I played through New Vegas the first time around following the main story, but, branching off at every new town to explore everything around it, do all the side quests and find new side quests - However, I was also smart enough to have a save right before the President so I could continue business as usual whenever I wanted to do more exploring, which I occasionally do.

I don't like to think I rushed through Honest Hearts, I wanted it to last, I did every conceivable side-quest possible and trolled through many of the optional locations. But no, I did not get a 100% map reveal because in my experience a lot of unexplored areas are just empty space with little houses filled with nothing.

The vistas alone are worth $10. Add in the most entertaining video game experience in my entire life, and it becomes a steal.

Well it might be short and all but its a DLC not a expansion pack. And it was just 10 bucks, not very expensive IMO.

Would you buy a piece of notebook paper for $1? Probably not, because it's not worth $1 - It doesn't matter if it's not expensive, it feels as though I didn't get $10 worth of game.

my friend i think you are argumenting to the wrong crowd, you see you are in a Fallout forum most people here are FO adicted either from the new games FO3 and FO:NV or the originals like myself, we would love it anyway and this DLC is not even something like MSZ

opinion noted on the 2 pages you have been complaining about it, and tho you are entitled to your opinion most people here just don't care besides your complain is ourelly about a benefit return for your 10$, it's not cuse the Story is crapy or the DLC is bugy has hell or the new wepons svck or Zion phisical space svcks and so on.....

we just don't care a trully fan of the game just sees that we finally got to meet JG ( that we where waiting to meet for 7 or 8 years), Zion is dead beautifull the story is great, so yes tho we respect yuor opinion we just don't care.....

Which I felt to be a solid length DLC with a good sturdy story behind it and plenty of action [though a lot of it was in spurts] I felt completely jipped paying the same price for Honest Hearts.

I downloaded Honest Hearts Tuesday night before going to bed and started it the next day at 2:30pm played till 3:30pm and when I jumped back on after work at 9:00pm I found I was on the final quest stage. By the end of the night I had gotten through the entire DLC twice [to get both of the ending achievements]. My Fallout IV timer on Steam read 33 hours before booting up, it now reads 36 hours, some of which was spent talking on Steam IM. I got some cool items I'll never use by the end but frankly a DLC is far too short if playing on hardcoe you're never once reminded that you're suffering from minor fatigue, dehydration or hunger. This is including all of the optional quests that seemed to be apparent [having found them myself and confirmed with the wiki]. I think throughout the entire DLC I may have, possibly, killed a total of 40 units, 10 of which were giant bears and several were just random scorpions I shot for fun. I started Honest Hearts with 600 ammo for my Rifle and ended it with 350 ammo left [didn't find any rifle ammo on my journey through Zion]. It takes me 3 hits to kill most of the units (started the DLC at level 29) and half the time I wasn't in VATS so I missed frequently.

Frankly, having enjoyed Dead Money so much and getting $2 worth of value on a $10 item I've learned my lesson and will have to wait before purchasing the next 2 packs to see reviews from players on length.

Doesn't sound like you explored much of Zion and you just ran through the quests. A big part of Honest Hearts is exploration.

......After getting 25 hours worth of time from Fallout IV a $50 game and knowing I still haven't even touched most of its content.....

Am I the only one who caught this?

It's not Fallout 4. It's Fallout: New Vegas. Bethesda is making Fallout 4, not Obsidian. Although, if Obsidian was it'd probable be awesome.

What do you want from me? A public apology for not titling it right? Is this not the 4th MAJOR title in the Fallout series?. . Were you able to easily comprehend which title I was talking about? Now you're being nitpicky.

Which wouldn't make it a "Major title" just like Final Fantasy Tactics and Mystical Quest not being major titles in the FF series - Even though Tactics was undoubtedly the best.

there i found the problem some one that plays FO and says that "tactics" is the best FO title, son have you read any of the story surrounding FO:NV or did you just runned doing the main quest? cuse 25 hours is seriouslly i probbly spent more time than that just finding computer logs and finding locations than you did completing the game

I think you need to reread what I wrote as I was making a parallel comparison between Fallout and its major titles and Final Fantasy and its major titles - Never once did I say Fallout: Tactics was the best game in the series.

There's nothing wrong with the content or length of it. Your standards are too high.

You got new weapons, able to level up more, more perks, more crafting, another map to explore, side missions, and a main quest with lots of dialogue and story.

Would you be happy if we gave that to you for 3 dollars instead of 10?

Honestly I just think he wants attention.

I keep seeing this arguement that the story was deep or had depth.

Can someone explain that to me? I'm just curious as to why others think the story for Honest Hearts was deep. The whole thing was just "this tribe is attacking the other one, so get us some stuff so we can leave". There was no first act, and the third act took no more time than 10 minutes or so with no real climix, twist, or anything.

That said, I do think this DLC is worth the 10 dollars.

i just finished and i have to agree with you, the story was kinda of bland even tho i did enjoy the burn man. overally i enjoyed HH more than DM simply cause i like to explore and loot and it gave me that so HH was worth my $10.

Oh, yeah definitely.

The survivalist story was very well done. I loved that bit. It was far more interesting then the actually main story in my opinion.

EDIT: @riddike - yeah Honest Hearts is really good. I would say I enjoyed Dead Money more, but they're both fun. Honest Hearts just struck me as a DLC intended to give us more areas to explore with a story tacked on as an excuse to do so. Not that I'm complaining.
