I also love the new Transit album, "Listen and Forgive".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0E6Bpoetzgs Visceral, punkish, aggressive and strangely catchy, and also uses the Entombed guitar sound, Darker Handcraft is possible the best thing they've ever done, as the linked track, Every Walk a Quarantine and Slumcult and Gather adequately demonstrate.

Heard good things about this band, will have to check them out. How much song-wise do they borrow from Entombed? 'Cos I like them.

Whitesnake - Forevermore
Chickenfoot - 3
I agree with these two, they were great albums.

The only five bands any man will ever need:
1) The Gaslight Anthem
2) Eisley
3) Against Me!
4) Andrew Jackson Jihad
5) Defeater

okay, okay: The Beach Boys and Bruce Springsteen as well

Hmmm not really a lot this year I think.

Rise Against - Endgame
Thrice - Major/Minor
Zebrahead - Get Nice!

The Rise Against album left me a little dissapointed as I always hope they will go back to the greatness that was Revolutions per Minute/Siren Song of the Counter Culture, but I still respect them greatly as musicians.

5) Defeater

Defeater is one of the best hardcoe bands out there right now. I've got a nice 5 x 3 poster of them on my wall, and all of their albums :).

Forgot to mention Woods of Desolation - Torn Beyond Reason. It's marvelous.

For me it's a tie between the album Endgame by Rise Against and A Place Where The Sun Is Silent by Alesana.
