All respectable game reviewers should alter their score

and what version wrere ps3 specific publications playing?

Most reviewers play the xbox version and then copy/paste the review for the PS3/PC.

This whole thing has highlighted the poor state of game journalism. It these sites had reviewed the game properly they would have picked these terrible bugs up. Eurogamer were one outfit that slipped up badly.

No real problems for doko besides a weapon rack not working correctly in my house in whiterun. But that is a MINOR bug.

All reviewers need to pull their reviews, until the game is fixed, simple as that. The reviews of 9.0 are all a lie until the game works properly.

I completely agree with you. Remember back in the day when the Gothic games were released, while they may have been as ambitious as the Elder Scroll games, they were heavily punished by Gamespot, IGN etc. for having being practically broken on launch day. Why the same is not being done to Bethesda, baffles my mind.

Because this game is playable, most gothic games(as great as they were) were completely unplayable at launch. And even now are littered with more bugs than the elder-scrolls series combined, also very unpolished.

Honestly, I don't think we should ever forget this. Make a statement to the developers of this game and future games. This type of quality assurance is an unacceptable practice and will not be tolerated. The game is unplayable out of the box for the PS3. It's not just a few bugs, it's simply broken beyond repair out of the box. Not acceptable and should not be forgotten.

amen.

quality assurance was a complete shambles. Its not even a case of dishonesty, that would be implying they knew about the bug, it's just pure incompetence.

And now that that their ignorance has been revealed, the least they could do is apologise. Nothing of the sorts, they're most likely just going to blame Sony for their time taken to approve the patch.

There are two resins they did not lower the score for skyrim:

1. They refused journalistic integrity by failing to inspect all versions of skyrim.

2. They succumb to the hype. Most game news outlets are just hype machines.

All product reviews exist to be purchasing guides for consumers so to not review each and every version, either separately or collectively, is to not do your job as a reviewer.

But such is the state of the enthusiast press; most of them can't even spot technical issues let alone form a coherent thought about them and relay that to their audiences.

It might come as a surprise to you but most of us are finding Skyrim to be practically unplayable. While you're right that the Gothic games were unplayable until they had at least a patch or two, the enjoyment you get out of Skyrim is temporary and in fact, once you reach a certain save file size the game becomes unplayable. Therefore, Doko... the game needs to be re-reviewed. The Gothic games became a masterpiece post-patch, and the same could be true for Skyrim but at the moment, this is not a 9/10 or even a 10/10 game, but rather a buggy mess, that should score below 5.

What size is this that hte game becomes magically unplayable? Doko has yet to find that limit the original guess of 5mb was not it, 8mb came and gone. is it more than 10 or 12?
The only bug doko has run into is a non working weapon rack in a his house in whiterun.

My game started to give problems once I reached 6Mb, and while a range of game save sizes are stated on this forum (from > 6mb), this does not diminish the problem, in fact it means what PS3 gamers are facing is complex (and potentially universal). Just because you haven't experienced it yet, does not mean that you won't.

Incidentally, I was also sceptical at first, and then my game stuttered and lagged. It's only a matter of time Doko.

We all agree this game is suffering from more than minor bugs. It's the most catastrophic game ever to be released on ps3.

The question is should reviewers alter their scores to take this into account?

The current aggregate score is not a reflection of the quality of this game.

I've been reading your comments on this forum and you are by far the whiniest self righteous f@@nboy I've ever seen. Bethesda WILL fix this problem but if you believe reviewers should change their scores then spend your jobless days calling them up.

That goes for the rest of you as well. A bunch of no good elder scroll snobs that have been with the series since the beginning and are now taking these bugs personal HAHA!

Bethesda we know you'll fix these bugs. Thanks!

Oh but Doko has encountered lag at 2mb. This lag was caused from not quitting the game over a long period of time. Ever since Doko has not had time to play for more than 10 hours at a time without a system restart. Mysteriously ever since then Doko has had no lag, even when playing the previously laggy toon.

My strange friend, I too experienced occasional lag early on, sometimes it merely seemed like a brief flutter, and I merely shrugged it off. It gets progressively worse my friend. I am sad to inform you, eventually you'll hit that sweet spot and the game will become a comic book, filled with stationary images, or even unresponsive NPCs. Bethesda sure are master programmers...hey?

1) Troll - 50% likely
2) Peter Hines in disguise - 30% likely

The lag was not fluttery, it started as such which I shrugged off. It eventually grew into a snapshot after snapshot of still images and 1-5 second full stops. Impossible to do anything, attack keys didnt work, option menus failed to do anything unless spammed 10 to 20 times. Shutting the ps3 off and coming back the next day solved the issue for Doko.

It certainly possesses some undeniable shill-like qualities, however the tone suggests typical troll. I suggest ignoring it from now onwards.

Iggystinky, my games been running fine with minor glitches but to suggest reviewers alter their scores when the game probably ran fine for them is ridiculous. Did you bring a bunch of your ES snobby friends onto this forum today? Seems like they're all onboard with your crusade.
