As long as Wes Johnson is in it. Im happy.

I don't think Patrick Stewart, Sean Bean, or Terence Stamp will be returning because all their characters are dead. :(

It would be cool if they hire a bunch of stars to play all of the essential or main characters.. Make it like Sin City, where every single person is someone big. :P

I don't care who does the voice acting, as long as there is variety

I just hope that they give each race at least one voiceactor each. So no Nords and Orcs sharing the same voice, or all the elves sounding exactly the same. I want my grating Dunmer and pesky Bosmer and haughty Altmer back :)

Voice acting in Oblivion was poor. They need varied voice acting, or none at all.

Here's a revolutionary concept - if they scrap voice acting, they could add so much more dialogue!

It would never happen, I reckon. Too many people would see it as a step backwards (reading not high tech enough, or something :P ). Oh God, if Christopher Walken, Brian Blessed and Christopher Lee were in it, I think that would automatically qualify it for best game of all time. OF ALL TIME.

I'd rather them focus less on getting a superstar voice cast and more on providing more variation between the NPC's voices.

Having one voice per race again would be a bit disappointing.

Agreed. And on giving us more than mere "mudcrab" dialogs.

Wouldn't mind either if they scrapped the face-to-face conversations altogether. Strangely felt more unrealistic than simple text did.

They could just pick up a hundred random persons they meet and ask if they want to voice act one characters every option just for fun and they wouldn't get paid. How many of you would do it if you were asked?

I know i would

I would too and this would already make the game a bit better, just the two of us recording two more characters voices to the game :celebration:

I would prefer no voice acting, and a return to dialog. There was so much more substance to it. But that isn't going to happen, since gamers are too lazy to read dialog. So, More than three voices would be wonderful. I don't need big names. They're usually minor parts of the story anyway. I would rather have varied voices in the bulk of the game.

To be honest they just need to get a bunch of random average joes to do the voice acting on the normal NPCs. That way they don't all have the same voice. And if they really have to, just get a couple of big names for the storyline NPCs.

And then some. Though I doubt if skyrim's got enough horses in it to assuage Brian Blessed's appetite.

There is software out there that noone uses that can generate great voiced dialog. I was following a game that was going to use it and some of the first test dialog was for an Orc voice and it sounded just like how I picture an Orc would sound. Sadly the game got canceled and I don't remember the name of the software they were using to generate the voices.

I hope they keep some of the Morrowind and Oblivion race voice actors around, for continuity. Most of them were decent. More variety in voices would be nice, though.

Here's a suggestion for Bethesda which would get them a vast variety of different voices for the new game relatively cheaply..

How about a competition for fans here on the Official Forums? They could put up some samples of dialogue from each of the races in the geme, then invite forum members to send in short .mp3s of them reading it.. I'm sure that out of the thousands upon thousands of Elder Scrolls fans out there they could pick out a hundred or so with the talent to read the dialogue in the game. Most fans would do it just for the kudos of being part of an Elder Scrolls game, so it's a win-win for everybody!

Just a thought, Bethesda..!

I am worried that if Bethesda hires some big famous people to do voice-acting they might not be able to add many variety in voice to NPCs.

However, seeing how FNV got a bunch of them and still managed to have 69 voice-actors it might be different.

If Brian Blessed isn't in this game then they'll not be getting my vote for game of the year...

I completely agree with this.

I'm listening to a interview with Max Von Sydow. It definitely sounds like him. And in this interview he seems like a really awesome guy. I'll have to check out some of his movies.

I hope they bring in a new voice for the elves... I could not take anything said in that voice seriously. And I hope they bring back the dirty dark elf voices from morrowind.
