Any RuneScapers here?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 4:06 am

I played it for a long while, till I hit the maximum level, then gave my account to a friend. I was always well aware that it was an awful game but I'd made a lot of friends on there and it was kinda' fun to play. Quitting was definitley a great decision though, don't miss it at all.

I kinda miss RS, personally. I was a quester and loved the lore and had a lot of good friends. I am glad I don't have to worry about like the 90% of the community.. I hated that community so much...

I thought the lore/questing was awful. I far preffered the community, although like you say 90% of the community was made up of idiots, the 10% made the game enjoyable for me and I made some really nice friends from my time playing it.

Did you pay attention to quests and did them all? I pay attention, did all quests, and got the cape. My favorite lore thing in RS are the Mahjarrats and Zaros. And yes, that 10% is very enjoyable part of the community. Sadly, it is shrinking. Use to be like 40% when I first started but all the good players keep leaving these annoying brats keep coming.. There was this one kid I couldn't tolerate and I had to add him to my ignore list, which I rarely do.. He was one of those annoying kids that keep saying "I'm Maxed out. I'm better than you. You fail at life. Blah blah blah." Argh... Those are quite common now-a-days as well...

The best part was PvPing and rushing all the little kiddies on there with my claws and stuff. Those were good times, many a summer day was spent...

Try that now-a-days... About 95% of those kiddies has either a pair of Dragon Claws or an Armadyl Godsword... Very annoying. PvP ain't as good as it use to be...

Yeah... As soon as free trade came back my friend got free [censored] from another guy we go to school with. He than diced, now have a Santa, Claws, Barrage and 99 str along with another 50m banked.

I would continue playing if I had stuff like that, I guess...

Barrage is very easy to get anyways.. Only about 4M to get if you train correctly. Getting 99 just requires time, not money. Claws are only like 14M but that Santa... That is something hard to get and shows your wealth but also shows your stupidity in buying something so useless and costly.

Nah I found them extremely boring. I just wanted to make money, friends and kill stuff. At one point I think I was worth about 800m, just before I quit. No idea what the account is like now that my mate uses it.

You are one of those quest-haters, aren't ya? Not surprise. The majority of people hates quests.

I'm sorry but surely the kid maxed out on runescape fails at life. He obviously has no life if he is maxed out and still plays.

I played from 06 to 2010 and built my guy up the hard way to lvl 138. I had 14 skill capes (slayer my fav), quest cape, and fire cape. I had pretty much all the money I wanted, just never enough (or soon enough) to get a party hat.

I stopped playing because Jagex was making the game easier and easier for the whiney kids. They didnt want to put the time in for anything or complained all the time that something was too tough to get or wasnt fair. And for some reason Jagex just kept listening to them and continued to find new ways to make the game easier for them.

I could go on and on about how the game eventually became a let down for me but it was over all one of the funnest online mmo games that I've ever played. I'd still be playing it today if it wasnt for the "dumbing down" or however you call it.

I played when I was was around 10. Got to around 72, IIRC. Had woodcutting maxed though.

Quit a few years later for WoW. It just got boring for me. My friends quit playing and there was no feeling of competition. There was little story and it was basically just a big grind.
Haven't even thought about it since thinking about trying it again a few years ago (whenever the HD update was)

Jagex made a lot of the training easy but they made the combat harder. Like Nex, I think she came out in 2010 actually. She is level 1001 and can easily destroy any player if they are not ready yet. Also, got the Dominion Tower now. That is a fun thing to do cause it allows you to re-fight quest bosses but with a twist.. If you play ladder mode, you can get special effects that helps you or cripples you.. Some of the good effects would be a healing one, which is like free food basicly and stun monster which will make the enemy randomly stunned and can't do stuff for a few second.. Some of the bad stuff is weakened defense, you start with half of your health, poisoned, diseased, random freeze (Really annoying), etc..

I have to say Dominion tower is prolly my favorite minigame. They also added a special boss to. I can't remember her name but she is like a level 500-something Magma Dragon and has a lot of special moves like she can fly around the arena, making it impossible to hit her, and do dive bombs making rows of fire in that area. She can also set half of the arena on fire. (The fire does constant 50s, I think).

There is also this one special match that is hard to do.. "No Nomadness No More" <-- This match is basicly, you fight Nomad.. 2ce in a row with only one inventory...

I am rambling now..

I used to, I usually have these phases where I don't play for like 6 months and then I come back to it and just go crazy on it for the next 6 months. It just gets boring and repetitive mining ore all day, lol. I couldn't afford Dragon Armor yet. Although I was buying Buckets for 20gp and selling them for 100gp on the GE. Which is just hilarious because people buy them for that much. I would buy a few thousand of them and resell them. Other stuff I sold was Addy bars, they are worth quite a bit, but the mining process is so slow. Mems all the way, free version svcks.

I always loved how each quest was a story not just a Gather 15 golden eggs, or kill 10 ghouls.

I know a few people who quit because Jagex said they where botting and lowered all of their stats. My friend actually stayed up all night one night training everything when he went back on later Jagex had accused him of botting and lowered his hard earned stats. He didn't know you could appeal such things so he just quit.

Mining ain't really fun. I glad I got the Golden Mining Outfit. Helps a lot since it increases your experience and it looks awesome.

Eh. I prefer to kill Glacors. They can drop boots that are about 10M-20M a pair. And Glacors are very easy to kill. I kill about 18 of them per inventory.
