Anyone earn up to 81 the hard way?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 9:08 pm

So I've decided to take my 1-hand sword/ empty hand character and earn her to 81 (and since I'm on xbox no cheats/mods/etc)

Has anyone accomplished this? No modding or console commanding.

What I've been doing is investing many perks into Alchemy, because once I get my melee skills up, I doubt I'll have the perks to fill out trees like illusion or conjuration, and I'll use mana cost reduction gear and just take the Augmented Flames for Destruction.

I'll probably take a lot of the one-handed perks since I'll be playing the bulk of the game with a 1-hand weapon, and maybe take 3 perks of 2-hand (barbarian, champion, and devastating blow), a few archery perks (zooming + time slow), and generally use enchanting and alchemy in order to make up that fact that I can't perk out my character correctly.

Normally I play my characters very concentrated and not try to do everything, so now I'm going the opposite direction.

Someone somewhere probably did that within the 1st 24 hours after the game came out. Of course people have done it. It's not like it takes anything more than time.

Oh I'm sure someone out there has done it. I'm just wondering if they went about it like I'm going to.

I read a lot of posts from people who say they quit their characters in the low 40s.

Also, I forgot to add that the "Well Rested" bonus seems to be a big help so far with this.

I find Alchemy quicker to increase with maximum enchantments equipped. I like to create Paralysis potions with Canis Root and Swamp Fungal Pods, and I like to create Regenerating Invisibility potions with Luna Moth Wings and Vampire Dust. Chaurus Eggs also work nice, I think one of the Dwemer ruins have hundreds of them.

I see absolutely no reason what so ever, to take a character much past 50, let alone 81.

It is funny how you put mods, console commands and cheats in the same reference. What do mods have to do with anything?

I have, took me a while but yeah, he mastered alot of skills did almost every quest, (I use almost because after 200 hours and 81 lvls he still had a [censored] ton of quests to do.) But my save bugged so i deleted him.

Are there not mods out that allow you to level a skill up beyond 100?

I just said "mods" without any agenda against them, wasn't expecting a challenge on that subject.

Because there are mods that allow you to get to 81 instantly if you want. Some of the housing mods have leveling stations in them that let you level any skill, perk, or whatever on your character by simply clicking on a button.

I'm on 360 and have figured out all the exploits and now find it hard to not use them and play legit, just like console command for PC, or mods like you described  I'm sure if I had access to console command I would wear it out in a heart beat

6 more levels to go, although 81 is not the max for me(I use uncapper) but considering it's taken this many months to get over 70, I guess I'm doing something wrong ;p.

I guess. I see no reason to even make one of those, let alone use one. I haven't seen that many, or any of this hosing ones. Are they on the Workshop? Where did you see that one?

Still, one could just enter a Console Command to do any of that. That is why I see no need for a mod to function such a way.

I view and use mods that make the game look better, sound better and play better.

Lol not me yet. Only on level 40 (I've been too busy).
I probably won't ever get to level 81 because my characters only use some of the skills, never all of them.

I may have a crapton of patience, but I don't think I could ever say I have the patience to attempt to get a level 81 character. Patience might not be the word for this, as I spend hours grinding in JRPGs, so maybe interest in bothering would be the terms to use. I don't play a character as a max out in everything. I like to be slow and develop the character while using what the character would be doing.

There's no console command to the change the skill usage rate, nor is there one to adjust the amount of health/magicka/stamina you get per level. At best all you have is setav console command. The Uncapper(the one I use) changes a wide range of leveling related functions that are otherwise inaccessible through the console.

Basically, the console commands do not give you any customization. Just instant gratification.

I don't get to level 81 because I only focus on certain skills for each character I make. I won't start leveling a skill that doesn't fit my character. Maybe one day I might make a jack-of-all-trades but not right now.

Ended up with these talents: http://skyrimcalculator.com/#123113

Level 74 at the moment. I just need to level most of the magic school stuff but I always end up switching back to bow and sword in a fight. :P
