Anyone else seriously disappointed by Hearthfire?

*snip*DRAGONBORN DOES NOT DECORATE!?!? FUS RO DAH!
hey. Dovahkiin needs love too. Maybe after slaughtering the big baddy, he just wants to settle down and raise some brats who call him a boot licker. but hey, as long as you dont leave bruises, its okay. i mean um. what brats?
also. i, for some strange reason, have always wanted a mounted mudcrab. probably because in vanilla game i cannot have them but i want them. at least 3 in every room.

Personally I can't wait until the next DLC, Last Seed, where Dovahkiin gets to build his very own ant farm.

I'm actually willing to bet adoption is worse than horse armor.

But the difference is that we're not paying five bucks for adpotion.

It will be called Nightwatch...or The Silver Hand.

Nor did we pay $5 for horse armor.
Given the combined content of Hearthfire, it's fair to say adoption and horse armor are about the same price.

You go right ahead, Bethesda.
You go ahead and add more houses to the game.

Add hundreds more, and don't fix the glitches in any of them, especially not the ones already in the game!
This is true quality control, here and now.

Ummm, no. All due respect to the OP, but why are gamers so whiny? I have not seen one place that refers to this as an expansion, so why are we criticizing it for not being one? On the other hand, I have seen more posts and comments than I can count on these forums where players were disappointed that they didn't have the opportunity to build or customize a house. Now that is available for the paltry sum of $5. For those that want that content, this is a nice addition. For those that don't, feel free not to buy it.

And saying this should have been left to mods discounts the fact that a huge portion of the player base is in consoles and has no access to those mods. If PC players already have this available via mods, great - you just saved $5. The rest of us might like to be able to build a custom house too if it's ok with you.

As for lamenting the fact that you feel you were promised a Shivering Isles-sized expansion, what is it about the release of this DLC that leads you to believe you won't still get a big expansion? In fact, here is a quote from gstaff when it was announced: "This is something we thought you guys would enjoy. Admittedly, it's a smaller add-on (made by a significantly smaller team). We're still keen on doing "big and meaty" content, too". That could easily be interpreted to mean that a larger portion of the Skyrim team is currently working on a major expansion. Dawnguard was released only two months ago, and if Bethesda is planning a major expansion, it's certainly going to be released months from now, both for business reasons and due to the development schedule. Unless Bethesda says that Hearthfire will be the last Skyrim DLC, I see no reason for anyone to be disappointed with it.

soo... i dont get it. people complain their asses off when dlc doesnt come out fast enough. people complain when fixes dont come out fast enough. hmmm. seems to me there will always be someone to complain whenever bethesda does ANYTHING. just wish people would stop complaining and take it with a grain of salt.

What I'm saying is that Beth is giving us more than just adoption. While horse armor stood on it's own, for the 2.50 I think it is sold at if memory serves, we're getting house building along with adoption. I hold no false illusions, adoption will be as deep as the marrage system, or it will feel plastic, fake, and all around cardboard. But house building has been something people have wanted for a while too. I'd probably be safe to assume our ability to customize the interior will be very lack luster when compaired to what a pc mod could do as well. But those things combined are worth five bucks for consol users, so at the very least they can feel like they own a plot of land and feel somewhat connected with the world.
