Are you currently happy with Crysis 2?

Post » Thu Jun 02, 2011 3:10 pm

this is the most buggy unfinished piece of a game I have ever played.

Take a quick look at this forum the thread for improvements and bugs is currently 75 pages long with over 700 posts not to mention the 235 page thread of pc fixes and info, 116 pages of people having trouble with multi -gpu setups, 20 pages of people with trouble of the game crashing to desktop, 94 pages of people whose promo code wont work, 45 pages of those having trouble with it not saving unlocks and xp, 19 pages of people having trouble with their multiplayer key not being saved and 149 pages of people who cant login to their crysis accounts...and searching for the phrase "not work" in the forum returns over 5000 results and the game has only recently come out.

Personally I think pc customers should be entitled to a refund for the shoddy barely working piece of a game that is crysis 2.

To be fair single player is acceptable however multiplayer is a joke - it is full of hackers and the xp and unlock system doesn't work at all and I have had nothing but problems with it. It took me a week before I was able to login and get playing multiplayer

This.

Should have a 5th something like, No I'm not happy and I'll wait for it to get fixed or cheaper before next purchase.

I've played about 2 hours of MP and lost everything. Surprise there and still waiting for a fix from C2 before attempting MP again. Bumped into 2 aim botters head shot across the map with pistols. Anti cheat?

I'm running 3 x 24" screen surround gaming and the flicker was shocking before a few fixes from 3rd parties came out. Sad developers have to rely of Joe Public to fix there game which testing is a Fail as nobody even tried a Sli or Xfire PC to test.

Graphic options are a joke, no real sound options, no separate max speed or max strength as not enough buttons on a control pad to accommodate them.

DX11 still not out. ROFL. When are developers going to send some of their employees for some training to be able to and write DX11? DX9 is very old and way out of date. It's a rush out mode for games. Xbox and PS3 can't run it which is probably why not released with DX11.

Some say it's better or the same graphic wise of Cryis 1. Well, you have to be joking! It's at best 3/4 of the original. Crysis 1 has better - destructible environment, bushes etc move/flex with your body, better sun, water, you can actually drive the cars, shoot out individual tires which effected the driving, graphic/sound options to tune to your system and I could go on.

I've finished SP twice on the Hardest level, if you can call it that and now it's on the shelf collecting dust The Ai is blond and predicable, bland city streets etc with only 1 way to go with no choice of really exploring the area properly. You can skip check points with 6 or so soldiers guarding, come back after the next check point and they are magically dead so you pick up their guns and ammo and continue on LOL. Exploring the crashed alien ship pods is the best example. Cloak, go down into the hole, "Check Point", go back out and their all dead.

Will I buy the next release, well maybe, after waiting to see if it's out of Alpha stage and majority of bugs fixed. Then it'll be cheaper any, save me time, frustration and a few dollars. I'm old school as in SP first then MP. If SP has re playability over and over, then it's a win. If MP is only developers gaol and crappy SP = fail (HomeFront).

@Torchem: I run NVIDIA surround and haven't had problems yet, but I agree with everything else you said about the game. Most of the bugs in the final release were already in the leak and Crytek DIDN'T DO A THING TO CHANGE THIS. Whoever leaked the game was trying to warn PC players not to buy it.

With good reason too. More people play the leak online via Hamachi / Tuungle than official players of Crysis 2, and I really can't blame them. The leak and the final copy both have the SAME. EXACT. BUGS.

They felt they did not really had to... You don't SLI/Xfire to run a game with everything Streamlined" for a great console gaming experience. Darn pesky users with 3 screen setups... Please remember, this is not a game for you... Crytek is now in the social engineering business... Equality above all... How noble... NOT

Plus I think they were really behind schedule, and spent all they time testing and making sure the console version actually works...

Basic things...and I mean uber basic things that amateur game creators get right

Patching - still can't be done properly in 1.4
CD Key - still need to use 'that' trick

Then you have dissappointments..

Graphics - No DX11? Crysis? It's like ice cream with no cream! (ok fine sherbet..but u get what I mean)
NPCs - Lousy NPC designs. It's like they slapped NPC designed on at the last minute.
Anatomy and Ergonomics - They still can't get the human anatomy and ergonomics right. a lot of movements and postures don't look natural.

Which is quite sad, because Crysis 2 was actually a-o-k. I wonder what happens if they weren't so psyched for a early launch and took a few more months for QC + DX11.

So I'd hold a bit first next time.

well I am still waiting for custom graphics options.....seeing how much the pc version was ignored. I will be really skeptical of crysis 3.
No point in further supporting what crytek has become.

Crytek enjoy ur mediocrity and plz dont use MAXIMUM GAME line again

This is how I feel about Crysis 2 as a whole. The Campaign, while one of the best out there for an FPS, feels boxed in. There is no city exploration, there is very little room for doing anything aside from being handheld from one checkpoint to another.

With all of the smack Crytek was talking about Crysis 2 being the best looking game any of us will ever play, the video above would prove them liars. Sure Crysis 2 runs better, but at what cost? Cryengine 3 literally looks like Cryengine 1.5. Its not even up to par with the last game they made!

Hopefully the DX11 patch doubles the texture resolution and draw distance and the SDK will be enough to save it.

I'd like to see the option 'Kill it with fire' in the poll, but that's not really important.

I think Crysis 2 deserves the award 'Fail of the year 2011'. So if Crytek ever releases a game again (especially if it is a Crysis related game) I won't buy it unless I am sure that it is not a piece of crap.
