Are you currently happy with Crysis 2?

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 4:01 am

Since the new Crysis showed to the world, we saw the new way Crytek will go on, with titles being released for both PC and consoles, we saw some bumps along the way. Heres the question:
Will Crysis 2 impact on your future buys from Crytek? Do you plan on supporting Crytek next releases? Are you currently satisfied with crysis 2?(for the last one, just a YES or NO please)

Will Crysis 2 impact on your future buys from Crytek?
Any game coming out from one studio will be have impact on decision regarding other games released from same company, so YES.

Do you plan on supporting Crytek next releases?
If next releases will be at least decent, then sure why not.

Are you currently satisfied with crysis 2?(for the last one, just a YES or NO please)
Yes.

Ps. there should be also only "Yes" and "No" answers in Poll.

Due to no problem with connectivity since few days Im happy with the Crysis 2 but I wont buy Crysis 3 etc. untill I will "test" it on my pc before purchasing. Dont know why but I dont have that error "connection to your host have been lost" (or opponent) since few last days. Maybe its server side problem and Im connecting to a good one.

Its good that there is some fixing finally but cmon guys.... everybody knows that those problems shouldnt even happen if the product was tested properly.

So Im beginning to be happy again with Crysis 2 but I wont blindly purchase their next release just for safety of my nerves.

Edit: I think this thread should be moved to General Discussion. This is only PC version forum so I wonder what are thinking people that have buyed the xbox and ps3 versions.

Edit2: I was connecting to good one, so ... IT STILL DISCONNECTS ME :/ Not happy :/

I love Crytech as a gaming company so yes I will also preorder probably every release from now on.

Very much so, Though I cant wait for DX11. This game is by far the best game of the year so far. Will compare next week when I get brink and then later this year with bc3 and skyrim

If I dont got MAXIMUM GRAPHICS patch, I wouldnt spend more than $20 on future crytek releases.
Although, if crytek allows custom maps, I might continue playing this game

this is the most buggy unfinished piece of a game I have ever played.

Take a quick look at this forum the thread for improvements and bugs is currently 75 pages long with over 700 posts not to mention the 235 page thread of pc fixes and info, 116 pages of people having trouble with multi -gpu setups, 20 pages of people with trouble of the game crashing to desktop, 94 pages of people whose promo code wont work, 45 pages of those having trouble with it not saving unlocks and xp, 19 pages of people having trouble with their multiplayer key not being saved and 149 pages of people who cant login to their crysis accounts...and searching for the phrase "not work" in the forum returns over 5000 results and the game has only recently come out.

Personally I think pc customers should be entitled to a refund for the shoddy barely working piece of a game that is crysis 2.

To be fair single player is acceptable however multiplayer is a joke - it is full of hackers and the xp and unlock system doesn't work at all and I have had nothing but problems with it. It took me a week before I was able to login and get playing multiplayer

I'm on the fence with how I feel about C2, but I selected the option 'no, but will buy new releases'.

I feel that the small MP maps were a bad game design choice, and, along with the N2 simplification and loss of features, were influenced heavily by what they could do on consoles, rather than pushing their PC capabilities to the max like C1 did.

If Crytek put the PC as a lead platform on future realeases, and give us back the features we're used to as fans of Crysis 1 and Crysis Warhead, I would definitely buy another one of their titles. However, I fear that Crytek may continue to disappoint, and under develop the game for the PC in future in favour of the prospective console playerbase. :(

So, Crytek delivered some welcome patches. Good. But as already mentioned most of the fixed problems should not even have happened.

And Crytek is working on a Dx11 patch. Also good. But in the end a bit more shiny graphics can not change my oppinion about the game.

With Crysis 2 Crytek choose to turn towards the console market and to release a game which reached the PC not as full-value game, but as poor console port.
Even if the game would have been released without any technical problems - it still comes with stupid story, generic enemies and unlikable characters and almost completely abandons what I loved so much about the first two games.
And even worse than that - it comes with boring uninspired and tube-like levels which made even the first run pretty uninteresting and give the game a replayability of pretty much zero.

(All of course imho, I know that a lot of people love the game, although most of the positive opinions come from console gamers. But I still have more fun playing the seven years old Medal Of Honor: Pacific Assault than playing Crysis 2. This is aggravated by the minute-long ingame cutscenes which you have to endure with every run because you can not exit them.)

All in all Crysis 2 is a game that is just not interesting enough to make me want Crysis 3 as much as I wanted Crysis 2. And as it seems Crytek decided to produce console games, which is fine by me but surely not what makes me want to buy their next game until I took a veeeeery close close look.

No... that is not satisfied and a demo that works before I give my money to these Clowns... again. Still can not sign in to play the none Punk Busted, hacked, lost connection multiplayer... sounds like more BS problems as this is what other players on this forum are saying. Enjoy playing other games that work... Duke Nukem is KING... LONG LIVE THE KING BABY... lol... aww, much better (the Duke Pissing on this)... lol CC :-)

I will no longer purchase any Crytek game...and No I'm not happy with the game !

It's not even the bugs...it's just that Crysis has turned into another stupid FPS corridor shooter..the only thing it has in common with Crysis 1 is the name and the Nano Suit.

Now Crysis 1 and even Warhead still float my boat...not Crysis 2 though.

The thing developers don't seem to appreciate is that console gamers are NOT idiots. You can make a good PC game and console gamers WILL still like it. It's just that devs never give them anything better.

If they hadn't worried so much about the visuals, and given the consoles the bigger (more BF sized) gameplay we saw in Crysis, they'd please all the console gamers AND have kept the PC community happy; the community that got them started.

As far as I'm concerned Crytek jumped on the CoD wagon. The result is ok, but they could have done SO much better.

Average multiplayer, bad bugs, lousy support, horrible textures, horrible cheat protection... that tells you all. Biggest disappointment in 2011 so far.
All the positive aspects of the game dont make up for the fact that i feel funcomed by crytek and their policy of silence and erasing even constructive posts just makes me angry and as a customer avoiding any further crytek products as well as telling my friends that this game svcks.

I am happy to say I have never had any major problems in my experience with Crysis 2. The only problem is hackers. Other then that, I'm happy and looking forward to future Crysis titles.

This.

I'm more than satisfied. It was a good break from BC2. I only met a hacker once. I like the story, it was bit better than Crysis 1 IMHO. But, haters gonna hate.

When Crytek releases their next game, probably Crysis 3, I'll just wait for community reviews and decide whether to buy or not. If it's any good, I'll surely get it.

In only play single player, and now that I finally got into the game, I quite enjoy it. At first I was majorly disappointed. But now as I got used to the way it works, it's quite good. I you think of it as a scifi COD game, but NOT as a sequel to Crysis. If you don't expect it to feel like Crysis 1, it's a really enjoyable scifi shooter in the city.

But I hope Crysis 3 will be a return to the functionality of Crysis 1 and BE DESIGNED FOR PC!!! not consoles.

A lot of people bash the game for all the bugs, and there are quite a few. All in all, however, that is the style game development has taken. with the ability to do online updates/patches they can release them faster with less quality control. I work for a software company (not a game company) and of course your software will have bugs, its just not possible to get them all. what makes a good piece of software is 1. the magnitude of the bugs, 2. the ease at which they can be fixed (well written code) and 3. the team supporting it.

Overall the company has been pretty fast to respond to issues and has patched, what, 3 times now. That is not an awful release schedule considering how new the game is. In the end i would say its a fun game and i do enjoy the multi-player content. The endless hacking has removed some of my enjoyment but moving servers is not all the hard either. Coming from Black Ops though there is a lot of room for improvement on their multi-player experience and in its ease of use from the console standpoint.

I would give the game a 7/10
