Are your real life friends excitied about FO:NV?

Post » Mon Dec 13, 2010 3:00 pm

I have one friend who really liked Fallout 3 too, but he's not going to buy new vegas. Why? Its the same game, he feels like its not worth the money because they haven't changed anything. He's too excited for Portal 2. Oh, the irony. Apparently the leap from Portal 1 to 2 is that much different from 3 to New Vegas. Hes a techie though so its mostly about the graphics.

Smack him.

No one really, but my friend is reading on it, so thats a good sign.

No one really cared for FO3 among my group of friends. Only 2 people I know have played it. Ones getting it and another as said is reading up on it.

@ Gan, don't feel bad will still have those days to discuss wether FONV lived up to its forums hype, and all the other little m,orsels we will experience after a few playthroughs. Then we can come back to talk about FO4 or whatever there calling it.

One friend played fallout 3, without any add-ons. He really liked it and we enjoy talking about the game. He knows the date when NV is being released (that should be enough).
The other friend also played fallout 3, kind of liked it. But he didnt finish it. He sold the game and wants to borrow it from friend 1. I would borrow it to him, but i dont have the ps3 version.
Sadly enough, he isnt as excited for the NV release as me and friend 1.
Sometimes i tell him how i cant wait for the game, and he tells me to shut up, because he cant hear that anymore. He has a point :D
But seriously how cant you be excited for New Vegas?

my friends have been bashing fallout NV alot recently because the graphics are not much better.

i try to preach to them. but its in vain. thats why he decided to get COD Black Ops instead of new vegas. they also dont like the walking and the fact they play music from the 50s

i need better friends

Did your friends like FO3? If so how the hell would they be mad about walking? (it encompassed most of FO3 and is literally a big part of almost all games) and the 50s style music? (which was also a major part of Fallout 3 and played on every radio in the Wasteland)

Seems to me your friends need to be less hypocritical about things and actually look into the game and see what changes have been put into effect, you can't judge a book by its cover.

I thought it was 40's style music in fallout 3?

I don't even really talk about games myself, one of my personal rules "Don't talk about video games at school."
But no, my friends play games and occasionally talk about them, but these days its usually about Halo Reach.
I don't think I've ever heard any of my friends mention New Vegas.

I live in a small town about 1000 people some i'm lucky to have a group of friends interested in the same nerdy stuff as me. My best friend is really pumped for the game and we talk about it all the time. I have another friend looking forward to the game too but not that much. The rest of my friends don't follow the fallout games so they don't care.

Humm,
One friend outside of work will get it and play it.
At work however ...
I have my copy bought on steam.
My supervisor has his copy pre-ordered from gamestop.(x-box 360)
One coworker has his copy pre-ordered from gamestop.(PS3)
My shift manager will get his copy shortly after release(x-box 360)

It dosent really seem to have popularity with the other shift's gamers though...they are mw2/mmo nuts.though I suppose a couple will get it eventually

So I would say out of the gamer population at work 40-50% of the gamers will have a copy by thanksgiving.

All my friends are married with kids, only one still games, and he (and his wife) are both still firmly on the WoW IV drip.

So no, guess not. Thanks for making me feel bad! :P

My group of friends is odd. They aren't followers by any means, but I guess they've come to trust my opinions and advice? Sure, that sounds right.

I get a specific handgun I've been wanting. They shoot it, they love it. Before too long... 3 of us have the same handgun.
I order something specific at Wendy's. They say... "I've never tried that." I urge them to consider it once to see if they like it. Now they end up ordering a "Dave" as they call it, and just say "What he had."
Same with Fallout, I guess. Although I don't have too many friends that play video games, my Brother and my Best Friend both play FO3 quite a bit. Same phenomena I guess.

Nobody at work really cares, but most of them are 50+ years old. The one older guy who DOES play a lot of video games never even made it out of the Vault in FO3, so he thinks the game svcks. Turns out he's just stupid.

Nope because most of them are not really gamers and for those that are gamers just want to play Halo Reach or Medal of Honor, pretty much everyone at my school are only into FPS's really.

Nope, none of my mates are what we would call ''real'' gamers. I tried to convert one with FO3, but was not successful. :sadvaultboy:

Nope.

Interestingly enough though I've seen 1 guy with a NCR T-Shirt and 1 guy with a NCR baseball cap (it was custom) on my college campus the last couple weeks.
