Armored troll is worthless : V - Skyrim

I've gone through 7 Armored Trolls already....they just svck so much. Plus Every time I run to to a place my troll is like 150 feet behind me.I pretty much buy them just for the hell of it every time I visit Dawngaurd Castle, cause they die in like the first 15 minutes of buying them....( Level 67 BTW)

Do you play on Adept? I was watching my roommate play on his Xbox 360 (I play on pc so I can't play it myself. All i can do is droll over my friend's shoulder) and he plays on master difficulty. His troll is a tank, no doubt about it. As much as I like to bash on the AI (which is still incredibly dumb) at the very least the stupid thing can seriously take some hits.

Yeah the my first frost armored troll is still with me, I might heal him occasionally but he never loses that much health he never went below half for me. And he kills things so easily too and I play on expert or master

I lost my poor frost troll. He was taken from me while doing one of the main quests with Serana, and when I returned to grab him he was already gone. Do they respawn or can you only recruit them that one time?

I tried one.... There was a dragon attack.... end of story. It was a Legendary Dragon, though I suspect any dragon will have its head.

I thought of getting another, but, idk, is it just more fodder? Of course it is! I'm not that mean!

If the armored troll is so good, it makes me wonder why the vampire side did not get equal treatment in this case.

I would have really liked to have seen ancient gargoyles or armored ones to have been available as companions to me.

Vampires got enough love in this expansion in my opinion. So did the other faction, the Dawnguard. Vampires got
the lord, which is satisfactory enough - and the Dawnguard got armored troll companions.

I also have not had any issue. Level scaling shouldn't apply but what do I know. Your troll may be bugged for some odd reason.

I'd be happy if they'd at least give us the option to marry them, though.

Play on Master difficulty then buy them so they'll scale up to their strongest type.

Thanks for explaining that, but no thanks to Master. Way too boring and tedious for me. Reminds me of Oblivion. Pincushion enemies, meaningless melee strikes, and magic becomes fireworks.

I would really love to bring Armored Trolls to Delphine to join the Blades, but I'm sure she's not "accepting" enough to train them to hunt dragons. How sad....

Huskies do more work for me. Had bran tank a dwemer centurion for my Mage once.

What bugs me about the armored troll is how long they decide to rage before getting into a fight.

My troll kicks ass. The only time he died was when i FUS ROH DA'd him off the top of a waterfall when i was aiming at something else

true but huskies do more annoying barking, otherwise i would agree with you...my pet troll bobo is nice and quiet until needed

Armored troll scales to your difficulty when purchased.

Playin' on Novice..it dies in two hits.

Play on Master its a tank.

Only when fighting you, the difficulty setting doesn't affect how other people/creatures fight.

Seriously, if you going to make us spend 500 gold for a pet at least make it last more than 2 hits.

Why you made a melee character with so few hit points is beyond me and is just plain stupid.

I play on master, and they serve me just fine. Never had 'em die. I only lose 'em when I dismiss them.

Bleh I don't like summons when I am stuck on 3rd person as a giant obstructive vampire lord. Its super annoying

They're pretty decent. They'll be flat out awesome once Dawnguard get's released for PC and we can give them an actual Armor Rating.
