-- FAQ --

Q: Where do I get Fletchings?
A: See the Recipes section below.

Q: How do I pluck Chicken Feathers?
A: Target a chicken and press your Use/Activate key (E by default) as if you were trying to talk to them.

Q: I don't see the Fletchings option at the tanning rack.
A: You need at least one of the materials (feathers) for it to appear.
Reason: It's similar to leather in that there are multiple ways to make leather (different animal hides) so most of them are hidden unless you have one of the materials.

Q: Why do hawks disappear when I shoot them?
A: Your Object Fade/View Distance is too low. Turn it up in the launcher settings or the game settings.
Reason: Hawks are moving world objects rather than normal NPCs/actors. The game replaces the hawk with a lootable object (container) when you shoot it. If your object view distance is low, you won't be able to see the newly spawned object unless you are close to where it falls.

Q: Why are some hawks invincible?
A: This is a game bug, not specific to the mod, but I've found a way to fix them.
Download and install this fix: http://www.curse.com/mods/skyrim/invincible-hawk-fix
(It can't be uploaded to Steam Workshop because it requires loose files.)

Q: Why doesn't my HUD's equipped arrow count update when I make new arrows?
A: This is a known bug and I'm looking in to it.

Q: Can you remove the perk requirements?
A: I will not, but you can using the Creation Kit if you want.

Q: Will you add _____ arrows?
A: I will not add arrows that aren't already in the game, such as Dragon Arrows.
Arrows that are already in the game, but not in this mod (Forsworn, Falmer, etc) won't be added either.
This mod is meant to fit the existing smithing design and not add random things.

Q: Can I translate this mod to another language?
A: Yes, but the mod must be uploaded to Steam Workshop, credit must be given to me for the original version, and I would like a link to it so that I can link it below.

Q: Will you upload this mod to Nexus?
No.

- Chicken Feathers added. They can be plucked from chickens every 3 in-game days or looted off their dead bodies.
- Vendors now have a chance to sell Fletchings and Chicken Feathers.
- Ancient Nord Arrows require one less Iron Ingot.
- To address complaints about the ingots weighing down the player, Nord Hero Arrows now require less heavy ingots, but more weightless arrows.

v3a - 07 Feb 2012
- Minor header error fixed by Creation Kit.
- Published to Steam Workshop.

v3 - 22 Nov 2011
- Menus fixed. For example, Orcish Arrows now appear in the Orcish section of the smithing menu.
- Added recipe for Ancient Nord Bow.
- Feathers re-worked. Arrows now require a Bundle of Fletchings, which can be made at the tanning rack using 3 Hawk Feathers, 3 Hagraven Feathers, or 3 Quills.

v2a - 21 Nov 2011
- Fixed formIDs (hopefully) that might have caused random bugs.

v2 - 18 Nov 2011

Eitherway, have you considered, having smithing be able to create 'arrowheads' in a seperate recipe, at a different yield. Than you'd just put in a 1:1 ratio of arrowheads, to feathers, and X amount of lumber between them to create arrows?

Nice mod mate, no idea why it was omitted from the game in the first place, there's even a fletcher in Solitude.

There would still be different types of arrowheads based on the metals used to make them. Seems like an extra, redundant step.
Anyway I tried making new items and couldn't get them to work. The CK is probably needed.

Re: CK-lessness
TESSnip from the Fall Out Mod Manager works somewhat with Skyrim's ESM and ESP files.
I plan on filling out the COBJ page on the UESP wiki with what I found later today.

Did you have to fiddle around with anything to get this to work?

I'm super eager to get started on this stuff as well. My account says I registered a couple of days ago, but that's just because I can't log into my old one, which I had been using since Oblivion came out.

Wtf is up with the accounts? :/

Can't use the account that I've used for like 5 years anymore.

Yea, the Nexus accounts have been acting unusual lately. I can't log in to their forums at home for some reason and it's really annoying.

Today was the first day I could log into Nexus; maybe they're just getting lots of traffic?
Anyway, great mod! It's nice to be able to make arrows instead of relying on what I can find/buy/steal.

Knida but not really.
When the CS is released it might be possible to add a recipe to the crafting table.
Thus you would smelt iron. Forge arrow heads. And of course craft Arrows. If we could actually create fletching as a tradeskill or even make 'fletching' tables that would be even better.

I plan to take smithing to a new level at cs release... Assuming its possible and I can tweak there crafting recipes without playing with scripting...
Applying above method to the rest of the recipes.

Where do I get hawk feathers etc.? Not sure where to farm mats? Also why such high amounts of ingots? It seems like for the size of the bar you could make quite a few arrow heads with just 1 or 2 bars.

I'd suggest removing the iron ingot requirement on steel arrows. Doesn't make any sense to me.

Great mod! Def. should have been in the game to start with! Didn't Todd say something about crafting your own arrows? Anyway, I was wondering if it would be possible to include an alternate esp for the plugin that crafts less arrows (i.e 20 instead of 50) so it is a little harder.

Thanks!

Really cool idea/mod. Question though: where are folks getting all these hawk feathers from? I play an alchemist and clean out every apothecary I come across, and I still doubt I've run into 30 hawk feathers total in like 70 hours of play. And hawks are really hard to hit.

When making arrows will it raise my smithing skill? If not, do you have any intention of implementing this feature in the future?

Pretty sure the Forsworn often have a bunch of them on their corpses. If not them then another common human enemy type.

I'd like to see this tied to a perk once the CK is out. Not sure if Smithing or Archery makes more sense to put it in
