Assassin's Creed 3

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 2:48 pm

Old thread is pretty much done, and I thought posting this in that one with 3 posts left wouldn't be a very good discussion. So, here you are.

If you haven't heard about the game yet, Assassins Creed 3 introduces a new location, time period and characters. This installment has Connor or Ratohnhaké:ton as the main assassin. He is of British and Mohawk decent and grew up in the Mohawk Valley.

Hidden blade is back, as always, no word on swords yet that I know of.

This one might be the only one I get, as it looks alright. I wish they would drop the simulation part though that's what ruined it. But then again the ubisoft Id thing for the pc is from what I seen and hear quite annoying.

You mean the Animus? That's what holds the whole story together and connects all these Assassins. Can't really just throw that out, as it's pretty much what the game revolves around.

I hope Connor (or however it's spelled) is as likable and epic as Ezio.

What I *really* hope for is a wrap-up of Desmond's story. We've been with him for four games now and I'm ready to see his arc come to an end. I had kind of been expecting it with Revelations and it was a real letdown when it didn't happen (though that disappointment was kind of offset by *two* other arcs being completed).

I'll probably pick this up one day if they release an assassins creed game pack that includes all 5 or at least the 3 main games.

I hope!

I think he will be. Apparently we will be experiencing his childhood in the tribe and whatnot, so there will be even more of a connection than there was with Ezio.

But Ezio was a charming super hero who served justice. I think something said he wasn't going to be like that. I'm thinking more like Altair.

This. Altair seemed more human to me. Massive Flaws and struggles with himself with an adherence to an ideal greater than himself to such a degree it seemed almost incomprehensible. Ezio seemed the most human in Revelations strangely and that is where Altair's and Ezio's Stories were wrapped up and Desmond's early years were revealed. I really liked the game, idk why but some people seem to think it was a waste of time and unneccessary to understanding the series. It actually is really important to Desmond's overall Story.

I am excited for this game but I really want a sword, call me cheap or whatever but if it has a sword in it I will enjoy the game that much more lol. Even if I don't use it I like the option.

True. It'll probably be somewhere in between. Altair was basically an emotionless servant of the order. Connor sounds like he might have more inner conflict, with being both native and european and whatnot.

I'm in doubt over which edition to get. The Join or Die Edition is pretty cool and much cheaper, but that Freedom Edition would look really nice next to my Black Edition and Codex Edition
Ubisoft got this whole special editions thing down to an art, didn't they?

I like the Freedom edition alot better. I like the big box as opposed to the skinnier one, but I like the art on the Join or Die case better. But, I'd rather have the figurine than the medallion. The only thing that pissed me off, is the DLC's. Those should already be in the game. I think it'd better to have pass for all DLC's or something of that sort.

I'm not too butthurt over it being situated in North-America this time. It was either this or the French revolution, and we've seen enough of southern Europe and Roman architecture as it is. Asian theme wouldn't work.

I remember people claiming in an earlier Assassins Creed 3 thread that the series was dieing. The pre-order numbers seem to indicate otherwise.

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/122/1221938p1.html

The pre-order totals have already surpassed those of Brotherhood, and is expected to surpass the life-to-date Revelation pre-orders by June.

"The production value of the game, combined with the biggest marketing commitment we've ever made, will make Assassins Creed III the highest-selling Assassin's Creed game ever," noted Ubisoft senior vice president of sales and marketing Tony Key.

You're right. All great leaders and All nations have their flaws and low points in history.

It seems the playable character will be more partial to the American colonies, but you will be fighting bad elements from both sides of the war. Lets just try and wait till more info comes out before we make any substantial judgements towards what the game will be like

So what if he was? Doesn't change the fact that he was a key figure in our liberation from British tyranny.
