1.8 Beta Update and Dragonborn DLC hints discussion

Post » Tue Oct 16, 2012 8:00 pm

Seeing how DG gave armors to all vampires in the game, wouldn't be surprised if some of the new items find their way to Windhelm and Riften.

Maybe stormcloaks get heavy bear armor now. They need some heavy armor.

I'm curious to see what the flora will look like. Will the pine tree's look exactly like mainland Skyrim? Or will they look like an updated version of Bloodmoon's?

The question then becomes which category do some of these fall into. Given that some were 'medium' armour types, which no longer exists as a separate category.
Wolf, Bear, Ice and Netch would definitely be under light. Anything else would most likely be heavy. Bonemold can be below Orcish and Indoril can be above it. (I still don't understand why they got rid of the medium armor category.)

Hell yeah, while not my favorite series, Brom is by far one of my most favorite characters in literature, Brom and Galby are the mian reasons I love the series, I hate Eragon as a character, "OHHH I HATE KILLING ANTS, IM NEVER GOING TO EAT MEAT, IM JUST GOING TO SLAUGHTER THOSE SOLDIERS OVER THERE WHO WHERE FORCED INTO SERVICE EVEN WHILE THERE BEGGING FOR MERCY"...

You might have to make a character that teaches Brom how to train his dragon.

Casting magic from a mount is a must IMO. Dragon mounts seems really lame to me. Am I alone on this? I can't imagine a scenario where my skyrim character doesn't yell weeeeee while riding a dragon. Just seems a little gay IMO lol.

Solstheim things are just leftover from Bloodmoon. You've all been duped. :bunny:

More seriously, I like what I'm reading so far overall, but that being said I can't believe 1.8 only fixes the four or five items listed, which makes me think this is mostly to prepare the new DLC. But at the same time: why aren't they fixing more bugs? Some of them could be fixed easily; a simple matter of code line tweaking.

So are we going to eventually get Skyrim 2.0?

Also, I'm not overly fond of Solstheim or Dragon Mounts (unless we're fighting other people using them). Will have to see what the actual content of this DLC would be.

Oh, and F**K reiklings! They are bastards.

I still don't understand how Dragon mounts will work but hey I don't mind and with it being in Solsthiem one can only think Werebears!!! Looks like even more Gamjam content.

They might just have a dragon to fly us to Solsthiem. Hopefully that will be the end of dragon riding in skyrim, I see no way this could be well implemented into this game and maintain any kind of balance.

It is because of people wanting this that werewolves and vampires lore, and many other aspects of the previous games have been thrown out the window.

Most of the time i would agree with this, but dragon mounts are pretty much the exception. It is simply ridiculous, i nearly face-palmed when it happened in the main quest.

Oh well. Vamps and werewolves had their moment. Now its the "Never ending story" crowd's turn.

What? I don't get what you mean by "never ending story". I would be fine if they added a separate werewolf strain with forced lunar transformations and bonuses in human form, and they fixed the vampire feeding. That is all I want for those then I am happy, except for werebears those MUST be added to the game.

I'm still curious on how they are going to do these mounts. "Flying" VL don't actually fly. So I'm guessing beth is just going to have the dragon fly a couple feet off the ground.

Dragon mount part. The kid flew on the white dragons head. Bad reference I guess, my bad. We got plenty of vamp and werewolf content already. Werebears and such would be nice. I said so myself many times, but dragon mounts trumps that by far IMO. Werewolves and vamps are getting old.
