1.8 Beta Update and Dragonborn DLC hints discussion

Post » Tue Oct 16, 2012 10:55 am

NO NO NO, Keening had a VERY important role in Skyrim, it reinforced what really happened to the Dwemer, it was constructive. Fan service is not constructive, its only there to please fans, not to serve a real purpose.
Kind of like dragons...

My bigger question is... erm... what more is there to tell of the Dragonborn? The whole point was wrapping up Alduin, right?

I mean, what happens? Everybody's sitting around Whiterun's Dragonreach - eating dinner while overlooking the land, and suddenly a book entitled "Legend of the Dragonborn: Part 2...adenim and foot notes" comes flying from over the horizon and slams right into the Dovakin's soup?

Who knows? A dragonborn does a lot of things throughout his life, not just one thing (not counting the faction missions). Maybe this is the dlc that makes us immortal, since this seems to always happen to our characters somehow.

Im not going to argue with you, but Skyrim's dragons had a MASSIVE role in both story, lore, and gameplay.

LOL. Dude, you're killin' me. That is funny. Please dont say that though, it makes me not at all want 1.8 if its "Never ending story" like. LOL.

That movie along with Princes Bride are two of my all time LEAST favorite movies of all time. Seriously, they make me want to vomit they are so hideously not my style.

That's it! Out you go! Out, I say!

You mean like finding Keening in a College quest?
Those are called Easter Eggs, if anything. And they are an integral, if not much beloved part of gaming.
I LOVE EASTER EGGS. Especially when Mojang won the legal battle against Bethesda, and in their honor they added the Notched Pickaxe. I love that :)

And people say Beth breaks the lore  not so fast :nono:

I remember before Skyrim came out people were getting all worked up trying to say Beth was breaking the lore with dragons.

For some reason, if people don't like something they tend to jump to the conclusion that beth is breaking lore even though they have no idea what the hell they're talking about.

I just had another thought, I wonder if the Horkers will look more seal like(Original Bloodmoon)? Or will they be more walrus like(Skyrim)?

It said in the artbook that Nords call any sea mammal "Horker" regardless of appearance.

Speaking as somebody totally new to the ES series, joining via Skyrim - can SOMEBODY please explain to me what the whole big deal about adding Spears is to the game? Why it's so popular to complain about the lack of them on the forums?

I mean... look at it from an angle of somebody (such as myself) who has never played ES before Skyrim... Spears? People aren't asking for personal companion Dwemer constructs, or entirely brand-new races, or siege weapons, or their own castle they can defend... but no, so many people's first reactions are demanding SPEARS?

So... seriously... what the heck was so amazing about spears in previous ES that it would so radically change the gameplay of Skyrim to make it 10x cooler (judging by people's reactions to wanting it)? I'd love to know, based on the reactions! ^_^

Well, nobody gets mad if you club a walrus...except the walrus.

For one, imagine the potential for truly epic and just downright sixy hot n' steamy kill cams that would come with that. Watch 300 to get the juices flowing if you can't picture it.

All I want is first person horse-riding/werewolves/vampire lords. Not only does that seem unlikely, you just KNOW that dragon-riding, if implemented, will be forced third person. -.-
