They might as well give the key to someone here. Heck, I′ll run this place! :P

Wow, this is unexpected good news. Glad Bethesda finally saw how [censored] the current forums are.

To be honest, since it has to be a brand new forum, I wouldn't hate it if it would be designed exactly like this one. This is the only forum that, when I found it, I was thinking "hey, this one actually doesn't look like [censored]!". I really like the design, compared to bethesda.net that looks horrible.

The only, absolutely required feature is notification when you are replied to, that actually leads to that post, which on bethesda.net didn't work like it does here. I'd get a notification that I've been replied to, but notification would just send me to a random spot in the thread, and good luck finding the reply in that mess designed for poor visibility.

I'd like them to more or less duplicate these forums over at b.net. They look good and function well. I do like the ability to upload images in the new forum, though I miss signatures. Politely informing an obtuse poster that I'm not interested in arguing with them just doesn't have the same effect over there. ;)

One observation: Images are good and signatures are good, but images in signatures would not be good. Let's not make that mistake when setting up the new forums.

Wow, I told you so, nope no positive comment from me, how long does it take to spot the obvious, and how many people have to say hey its broken before its fixed, how big a page can you post a facepalm, yes i was the first couple of users who spotted the bleedin obvious and said so, well looks like the minority were right after all.

And im sure so many of the regular users have spammed this forum with what they dont want to see, no Like or such button the report system is fine keep to this style of forum, if it aint broke dont fix it, same sized avatars, its like brand recognition, stick with whats known than playing around, sort of like creating a forum with software that really isnt user friendly, and a friendly navigation system, and dont post images, because theres nothing like a page flooded with people answering each other in memes.

And just not a carbon copy of the other forum, and please you have have some decent artist their, please get rid of the really terrible blue and white title bar, if its set in stone get a decent artist to at least do one to represent each sub forum.

I think this is great news. I think the new forum software was designed for employees working for a corporation discussing business rather than a gaming forum.

What minority was right about what, again? Those who hated the new forums have never been a minority or even a simple majority. The new boards have been disliked by an overwhelming super-majority since they were released. I don't know of anyone who actually likes them.

Believe it or not, there are actually people who do like them, although I can't understand why. Seems like none of what makes these forums good are present on Bethesda.net, and that's a shame TBH.

Things I would like:

Pretty much this same exact setup but with more functionality. And please for the love of the Nine! Dont give us a solid background! I like the images in these backgrounds and how they match to the forum with a dark overlay for the posts.

What's wrong with a solid black background? Looks fine on this forum.

But it's not solid black. It's an overlay to an image. On this forum the outer edges are like old parchmant. Go to the game forums and you'll see there's an image related to the game behind the overlay. Adds character.

He/she might be referring to the beautiful https://snag.gy/bWEzN9.jpg theme. Sometimes I forget the default theme exists. :P

geez, already seeing some old faces in this thread i hadn't seen in awhile..

i would agree that it would be the perfect solution.. sadly, Hungry is making it pretty clear in the other thread (the one linked in the OP) that that isn't on the table.. the reasons he gives for it make no sense (common Hungry, you really expect us to believe keeping these would marginalize them? it hasn't been an issue with these forums in the past, and plenty of companies have separate forums)..

That's what good news does, brings those who have fallen off, back...for a time at least.

Wow, I can't remember the last time I was this active. Here or there, TBH.

Same here. Like I've said before, I am currently without a computer and this forum has a very easy to follow mobile site. The new forum is so hard to follow on my phone.

Hazarding a guess here, but I suspect that most of the people who like the Beth.net forums had done their posting at places like Twitter, reddit or Facebook. IOW, they had no experience with posting on an actual forum using software designed for it.

It's hard enough to follow it on my desktop - I never even tried to use it on my phone. :yuck:

Same here. I don't think I've made even five posts at that other place, and I was barely posting here, mostly in the reading and Witcher 3 threads. I had kind of figured once they released the Skyrim remaster, they'd move the TES forums and the rest over there and pull the plug on this place.

I kinda don't think that's gonna happen now, at least not until the new and (hopefully) improved forums are up and running.

And yes, the debacle at Beth.net is precisely the reason why they never should've shut down the forums they did so soon. They jumped the gun on this. The Fallout forums (as well as the others who shut down) should've remained active here, but keep the community forum active there and used it for ideas and troubleshooting. Obviously that didn't happen, now they've got an even bigger mess on their hands than if they'dve actually listened to us without rushing headlong into this without knowing or caring how we felt about it.
