"Bethesda's latest potential masterpiece."

Meh. I'm not really hyped right now because hype always equals disappointment.

Still can't wait to read February's GI.

Be hyped about a game your interested in playing. Just don't be hyped because others are hyped about it.....uh oh....CONTACT HIGH.

If it is nothing like Oblivion, ya it will be good. If it is a lot like Oblivion.... get the air-sickness bags ready.

EDIT: last games I bought upon release...

Fallout 3 had to wait a while before a patch was released before I could leave Megaton without complete system crash.
Fallout: New Vegas had to wait a while before a patch was released to unbug quests so I could finish the game.

...... I do not know how Oblivion's launch went, but I assume its safe to say you can put it under your pillow for a month or 2 before you open it, 'lest it spoils.

I am hyped about The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim...because I am very interested in playing. But I am pleased to see that so many gamers are hyped about this also, whatever their reasoning may be, exactly...

I would very much like for the game to be great, but what defines greatness is open to speculation! :P

I'm more impressed by "mind = blown" than by "potential masterpiece." It gives me hope for some really bat[censored], mythological beast of a storyline :D
You can't use language like that on here, Lady Nerevar. :P

Personally, I find that getting excited is absolutely the worst thing one can do between the announcement to the release. I know it's inevitable, but the dangers of overhyping and letting imaginations run wild are very real. I know I'll be making it a rule to observe only at a distance, and to judge every publication or video or trailer or preview with a small dose of skepticism. Then I don't have to deal with unrealistic expectations when the game actually comes out, regardless of how it turns out.

I am so excited about this news!! I was right, it IS in Skyrim, the new Elder Scrolls. BUT this gentleman has wise words that I must follow too. Just be cool, observe from distance and not get dissapointed when the game is in my eye view 11.11.2011.

Well, I don't want to be too much of a party pooper, but "across 12 pages" may not mean 12 pages of Skyrim.....

What else could he possibly mean?

maggiethefisher: @Andrew_Reiner wow, you are making it basically impossible to wait for january 6th.

Andrew_Reiner: @maggiethefisher For?

maggiethefisher: the Skyrim GI cover. "Mind blown" is intense :)

Andrew_Reiner: It's such a cool story, and we have it across 12 pages.

Granted not every single one of those pages will be packed with information, but I have no idea how you think he meant anything other than that the Skyrim article is 12 pages long.

I can't speak for him but maybe he meant it won't be all Skyrim, but other Elder Scrolls related stuff also. Kinda like the last article. Quotes and pictures and such, explaining the series for those you missed the last article.

Either way, I'm completely stoked, and to hear it's going to have 12 pages of interest, I'm definitely buying this issue.
