bethesda please balance the game

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 1:42 am

I do not like it that I can one shot dragons or do 2000 damage with one attack. It just ruins the epic feeling of the game.

Take difficulty off novice?

Freedom of play doesn't mean they should let the players easily rewrite the reality and create a dagger that can slay a huge dragon with just a little touch.

Yes it does...? Freedom of play means having the choice to do what you just said but also having the choice not to. This is precisely what makes TES so unique as an RPG.

Well, I'm playing a warrior-healer(Crusader) that use two-handed weapons. Currently at level 33. Thing started to get abit easy so I put the difficulty too expert. Now it's not so easy anymore. If you oneshot dragons set the difficulty too master and if you still one-shot them, the applaus too you for building an incredibly powerful character.

This is why I rarely use crafting or enchantment in TES games, Beth just can't figure out how to make them not insanely broken.

If you want to one shot dragons that's great. I don't and think the OP is right.

I don't want to one shot dragons and I don't think the OP is right. Just because the option to do so exists, doesn't mean I am tempted to follow the path to do so.

Just because something extremely possible game breaking powerful that destroys everything it touches in one hit that requires 9001 hours to achieve exists, doesn't mean you HAVE to get it to enjoy the game for what it is.

Just because a game is single player, doesn't mean you shouldn't balance it. I want to feel like I'm being reward for using my abilities smartly, not feel like I'm breaking the game or cheating.

e
this. when i make a character, in any game, i aim to make the best possible character i can (strongest, fastest, w/e. doesn't matter). when i do so in this game, it's unbearably easy. this "don't do it if you don't like it" [censored] everyone in this thread is spewing is absolutely [censored]. bethesda could have balanced the game so it is still challenging when you make a strong character, but is retardedly easy if you LOWER THE DIFFICULTY. this would solve the problem. bethesda's aim wasn't to give you the "freedom" you all are talking about, they're just too damn lazy to balance the game.

that's the thing. it doesnt take 9001 hours to achieve, because the game is UNBALANCED. a few hours into the game and i'm sitting here at lvl 24 destroying dragons with no problem

This not a multiplayer game where you need to make sure to balance this is a one person game so you can do what you want. But of course you don't want to one shot everything but that is up to you how you lvl that effects how you can do against bigger challenges.

I'm at level 25 and still have problems with Dragons... Unless I completely heavy armour up and use specific spells.

To be honest I think the game is overbalanced the other way! I havent touched smithing other than to make jewelry to sell so I don't know about making uber weapons. I have perked up my one hand and I never one shot anything to be honest, I get slayed mostly. Im tired of getting one shotted by those ice mages and those powerful drueghr guys who shout the sword out your hand then one shot you with their sword. Dragons are easy to kill but boss enemys in dungeons are rediculously overpowered....

They can't balance it. Because it is too easy For You, and too hard for others. No matter what they do, someone willbe unhappy. Maybe they could add a tougher difficulty.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. How the [censored] do you balance a game where you can have thousands of combination of perks, attributes and weapons?
What are you balancing the game to? Turn up the difficulty.

Erm I'm a level 22 mage and if I get caugh in the firebreath I'm as good as dead. I have to summon multiple frost guys, bound weapons and use my best spells to take one down and it tends to turn into long hard battles. I feel its about right.

Erm... I play on Expert, not Master, and I do around 50 or 60 in damage with bows...
How you manage to one shot Dragons is beyond me.

To ppl saying novice, the one shot occurs in master as well. 2000 damage sword attack. May not one shot but it will as a sneak attack.

The only balance im looking for, since most forum posters are clueless, is the crafting one. You can craft enchants to make better potions craft potions to make better enchants, repeat.

Their crafting system does allow for an infinite boosting loop.
Your choice to use it as such is specifically non-immersive, and by that token most people won't really care about anything you're saying in regards to it being 'unbalanced'.

Regardless of the source or cause of said imbalances, they really ought to be fixed...lest they balance all future content assuming people utilize such "oversights", which would simply lead to a different form of unbalanced content.

What re123 said is correct. You can't have this feature of loop crafting. This needs to be fixed. As well as daggers benefiting from the one hand damage % boost
