One of my favorite things to do in games is to create interesting characters.

From from Tv Shows or Movies/Music ect.

I haven't played Skyrim in months because I want to build some characters that as of now there is no way to build.

I would really like Bethesda to add more options for the character creation system.
and I encourage anyone who is reading this to keep this post alive and make up you own list of characters you would like to create and hopefully Bethesda will upgrade the Character Creation System.

Here are some things I would like them to add.

#1. The ability to change age/look of character like form 20's-70's

#2. The ability to change size of character.

#3. Add More
A. Complexions
B. Nose Types
C. Eye Shapes
D. Brow Types
E. Mouth Shapes / Lip Colors
F. Tons Of New Hair Styles (Most Wanted Curly Long Hair)
G. Ear Types & Ear Positioning

Here are Some Characters That I Wish I Can Make And Perfect For Skyrim

#1. Ronnie James Dio
#2. Merlin
#3. Bruce Campbell
Yes we need BRUCE F*CKING CAMPBELL in skyrim to slay all the draugr

This is absolutely, positively, one of the things I care LEAST about in Skyrim.

Spend 40 hours creating your character's face.... and wear a helmet the whole game
every character of mine (that wears helmets) I keep that in the favorites menu - just so I can don/doff it as needed.

The "complexion" option = age adjustment.

I already have a lot of trouble deciding on the customisation already haha. Anymore and I would never get to play my character.

Maybe I should try Randomize...

The reason I have a lot of trouble trying to customize my character is because it's so hard to get a good look at what you're doing. You can't zoom in, rotate, or anything else that really gives you a grip on what you're doing.

This too. I hate the lighting as well and there is also that shadow. It would be better if you were taken to a random place where you can change the lightning/lighting direction, shadow and all elements that can effect the look of your character so you can see them in different scenarios without complaining after you have made them.

It's the way they design their games. They can only do so much with one game. Not sure if you've noticed but weapons size to the players size. If you play a female Breton or male Bosmer then your arrows, bow, hammer, axe are all smaller versions than the weapons being carried by nords and orcs. If they allowed you to make a big fat guy then you'd have big fat weapons I guess. I too have wished for a sims style character creator within each and every game.. and someday maybe that'll happen. But it hasn't happened yet. No matter what, it's an upgrade from the past games. Morrowind you had heads, Oblvion you had those crazy attached sliders which made it all so difficult. Skyrim has a good level of face and coloring techniques to let you create thousands of different faces for each race. For some there can never be enough choices, but the larger population usually just picks a face they like from the premade set, fiddle with it a tiny bit and go.

Some of those wrinkles are race set. The Bretons forehead and laugh lines are just the way they are. All the way to the left is 25..all the way to the right is 55. I think I read somewhere that it ranges from 25 to 55.

I thought Oblivion had one of the best systems with the sliders. I was excited when I saw the quality of the characters in Skyrim. Then I was slammed when I realized they were damn presets.

I can easily spend 45 min in the creator. I could spend an hr or more in the Oblivion creator. They need to implement a character rework, at the cave exit. Yet another damn gimped flaw. Moving to PC changed most of this, but still. The sliders are needed back, at least.

For the selfish remark by the one that doesn't care for it...great post. There will be lost of people benefit from that for years to come.

I'm currently playing a nord female that uses a greatsword as a lat resort weapon and man does it seem bulky even though I have noticed It does look smaller than when her male counterpart carries it. wish there was a light version of a greatsword that was a little thinner that didn't weigh as much that I could wield better even at a DAM loss.

Character creation is one of the few things I am disappointed in with Skyrim. Even Oblivion's gave you more options. Not to say I haven't created some beautiful characters in Skyrim already though. An update to character creation would indeed be welcome.

An ability to edit the existing types would be better than adding 100 new types. Because if we have the tools ourselves, there's endless possibilities. The good old slider-system did work quite well, but was much, much harder to use than the current one. A mixture of both would be best.

The best way to improve char gen screen is through 3 ways:

fully rotatable camera so we can see what hair looks like from behind.

ability to zoom in and pan the camera up/down and side to side so we can get close-up detail on minor changes

modifying how color for character features is chosen by changing it from a slider to a button that you press that brings you to a custom color field like those found on "Paint."

What I would add:
The possibility of being fat.
More beards, I need a longer beard fo my Wizard.
The body slider should do more for female characters, it is useless the way it is right now.
Maybe add some more haircuts, and warpaints, scars, maybe even some more eyes (so you can get the white eye on whatever side you want etc.)

But that's about it.

The problem is that they removed many of the things that were present before, like a REAL ability to change age, ie remove wrinkles. I can't figure out why they wouldn't give the player that choice. If I want a young breton that doesn't look like she's having a mid-life crisis I should be able to do so

I don't think adding more would really help I mean have you seen some of the options they look horrible, there are like two eyes and two noses and two mouths that are any good the hairstyles are a mess almost seems like they were imported from fallout. I think if they added 20 more options for every option you would only get 1 per option that was any good.

While I agree with having more options, the main thing I think they need to fix is the camera. It's very difficult to get a good look at what you're doing, especially the minute details.
True. Also what I hate the most is the camera is so far back I can't see what my character's eye color is.

I am baffled by how terrible the male options in the character creator are but I seriously doubt they will be altered or added to in any way, unfortunately. I'll just have to stick with my haggard 60 year old beady eyed ex-WWF wrestler until some modder eventually creates some new male options. =/

I agree,The male options are terrible.I also don't think they will change it although, they may add more options in an update or small dlc

Pre-release, when we first heard of the changes to the character creator, this is what I assumed would be the case. Something similar to Dragon Age where you could choose, say, a nose type from several presets and then edit the width and length etc.

The most basic of those options are in Skyrim, but it's still too limited.

They are, but to the most pointless extent. I cannot change the nose tip/bridge/nostril width unlike in Dragon Age and I don't recall being able to alter the preset eyes at all other than moving them slightly apart or together. And the eyebrows are simply laughable. Who has eyebrows like that?

However I'm just ranting now. :P
