Bethesda Please Upgrade The Character Creation!

While I agree with having more options, the main thing I think they need to fix is the camera. It's very difficult to get a good look at what you're doing, especially the minute details.

You know you can move the head around, turn it to one side, tilt up, tilt down etc, right?

I wanted my "Nord" character to look like "Ka-Zar the Savage" from the classical Marvel Comics in my Skyrim game!, that would have been great and awesome!!!

Only by a minute amount, and the light isn't that great to see how things look on the right side of your face either. You also can't see the back of your head so you can't really get a good look at what your hair will really look like. You can't really get a good look at what you're doing.

How you play and how others play are not one and the same. You'd do well to remember that.

There are those that choose not to wear helmets, whether for the sake of challenge or simple aesthetics. Just because you have yours on all the time and don't care for your character's appearance, does not mean others feel the same way.

I agree, I hardly wear a helmet.
I swear I am just waiting for a game that lets you somehow DRAW ur hair you want on a character and it come out right -__-

All they really need is color sliders that incorporate as many color options as possible. People want green/bright red hair or even green skin or bright green face paint, purple eyes etc etc. Let em have it within reason. No blue purple eyed imperials...lol. I believe a mod has come out that has already done that, though it lets you make purple imperials with green hair and all that. Which is not exactly lore friendly lol

Other than that they need more preset options for all the sliders. Age slider like Oblivion is pretty weak tbh. What if I want an old guy without forehead wrinkles but has deep crows feet?

Who are you to tell someone they cannot make a blue purple-eyed Imperial? It's not your game, you'll never have to look at it. Skyrim is a single player game, someone's blue purple-eyed Imperial will never have the chance to offend your delicate aesthetic sensibilities. It's none of your (or my) business what color hair someone else puts on their character.

I say let them have it even if it is not within reason. They have paid their money. They should be able to make any kind of character appearance they feel like making.

I want the hair style options to be for all races.... Just different a little. My Nord should get the Elf high tied ponytail, or the one like Duncan from Dragon Age Origins. The hair options in Oblivion were pretty close to my ideal, with your own color choice and length to a degree.... Why didn't we get that kind of customization in a later TES is beyond me.... They streamlined CC for what exactly? I'm failing to find what was worth the cost of my individuality in Skyrim..... The same can be said for Smithing but I'm not going to get into that again...

APB has one of the best character creation program I have seen so far. I have seen players create TMNT, Ronald Mcdonalds, Spiderman, Naruto and many more.

In any case, Bethesda has never upgraded the character creation program after the game has launched, neither in patches nor DLC. It's not like there's any money to be made from doing that either. So I wouldn't be holding my breath.

A more realistic approach is to buy a PC.

I would love to be able to type up a back story for my character (like the description for classes in morrowind)
Maybe be able to write myself a personal diary in-game, without the aid of a mod. Keep a little book in my inventory, that I can edit at any time.
Then again, I also wouldn't mind being a scribe, able to write/copy books and sell them or get a commission for the work.

Uhh...really making a stretch on that one huh? It has nothing to do with my aesthetic tastes. It is about lore. Imperials are not blue. It just wouldn't make sense. Why would I care what someone does with there own game? However if the blueness was restricted to the PC(player char) only, then that's fine. There should not be blue imperials running around in Tamriel though as NPCs. Strictly speaking lore wise, neither should the PC be doing so either. But again I can just make my PC not blue so why would I care if the option to be blue is there? However the skin color like that would make racial aesthetics mostly meaningless in men. The races need to be more identifiable IMO. But again so long as certain features of the character creation are restricted to the PC I really would not care.

On topic. It really would be great to have a little class name and then a description of that class or a backstory for your character you can see ingame in certain areas like in menu or maybe even on a plaque somewhere after you do something.

Who cares if it isn't in the lore, it is their game so they can make them purple for all they care! Its not like Beth is gonna run up to them or boot them out of the game somehow if they are connected to the internet if Imperials are blue or purple or yellow -__- It is their game by than so who gives a [censored] really?

Because it is relevant? Are you implying Bethesda shouldn't care about its own lore? Imperials should never naturally be blue(or other ridiculous colors) unless it is the PC. Lore is not crap. It's fine if you want to be an imperial but there sure as hell better not be blue imperials in my game. I could care less if someone wants to make their character whatever they want, obviously I am not going to have to see it. However it should not extend(much) to the NPCs in the game. Hair would be fine, but skin color like red or aqua do not belong on any of the the playable Elder scrolls races with the possible exception of the Argonians. Humans, even in TES are not blue or green or red.

Do you get it yet?

The TES games never had a good character creation. You get five noses, six hair and eight eye shapes...but nine out of ten look so horrible that you wont use it anyway. You could if you want to make a Quasimodo look alike.Same with the females.I never felt like playing one in TES games since they always end up looking bad.And no,i don't want any anime face mods of pinup doll mods.Games like Aion,Dragons Dogma and Tera have a good character creator.Bethesda should take a look at them before making another TES game.
