unless of course you are in a Constitutional Monarchy. in which case the royal family is your Head of State, and (theoretically anyways) could overturn any decision made by your nations Parliament.

It's strange to think that the Royals still hold this power... If they did this and there was a schism between them and the English parliament, it would be the most unfair civil war in history. Nobody likes our government.
Great, then maybe you wont be disrespectful here again.
Well hell yeah!
In all seriousness, I can tend to straddle both the important news and the fun, innocuous news. For some reason, even though I don't give a single crap, I can't pass up a "Best and Worst Beach Bodies" or "Celebrities without Makeup" magazine at a checkstand. Guilty, unexplained pleasure, haha.
I followed the royal wedding to the point of knowing when it was and watching highlights of it, and the pregnancy mainly of just seeing when she was due and such. I'll probably perk up again when the name is revealed. I had never seen or read Twilight yet found myself reading the whole cheating scandal between Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. I have NO clue why, ha.
See, while I am Canadian, we still share the fact with our British Cousins, that the British Royal Family is still our head of State.
Alot of people think the Prime-minister is the top office in our Government, but this is not true. The Queen is at the Top, Followed by the Governor General (who is usually appointed by the Queen), and then the Prime-minister.
While the Queen technically could overturn any and all decisions made, she has never once used that power.
Actually, the Royal Family (or at least House Windsor) has been very kind toward its Subjects and Colonies.
we basically went to the Royal Family and said "Yeah, we know we are colonies of Britain, but we would like tyo be our own nation", to which their response was basically "Sure thing, you need help drafting a Constitution?
Good that the mother and child are fine and healthy - congratulations and that's genuinely congratulations Aside from that though... bring on the republic!
Just because someone says they're a rooster, and other people may think they're a rooster, that doesn't make them a rooster. As I mention below: We live in a different age compared to that of before. Things aren't exactly the same as they used to be, including who and who doesn't truly have power in this world. I don't want to be that jerk that gets this thread locked because of the "NO POLITICCSSSSSS" rule, so I'll stop posting in here from this point on.
All of that being said, I'm more than open to hearing a perspective of this from someone outside my country whom may understand the hype more than myself.
My post wasn't spam, it was an opinion likely reflecting that of many other people in the world. I would believe that, in this modern age, we are past the point where someone should be given a lot of media attention simply because of who their ancestors are. Because I think this, I am going to voice my distaste toward the wide amount of attention things such as this receive, as I personally feel this kind of news is on par with junk such as Kim Kardashian's baby.
but when the Hen-Houses "Constitution" say they are the Rooster, then they are the Rooster.
see, its a big deal to most Constitutional Monarchies within the British Commonwealth, as per dictated within our Constiution, he is going to be our Head of State someday.
Nations are founded with the viewas dictated within the Constitution, and these are not an easy thing to change.
You president says he's the president, other people think he's a the president, but that doesn't make him the president.
Who cares about a family of rich "divined leaders" who have relatively no power anymore? I sure as hell don't.
read the Thread, they have plenty of power, just not where your from
That's not what I meant when I said that...
You're very opinionated for someone who doesn't care.
Yet that's what I took from it. I'm not sure how else to interpret it.
They have the final say in Parliament, I know, but I doubt they'd use it. Basically their job for the last century is to look pretty and smile.
Either way, I still think the concept of "royalty" is horrible. Just because you are born into a family shouldn't give you divine right to rule over "inferiors", leadership should be based on capability.
I don't care about the baby or family in general, I do however care about the concept of monarchy.
Here's an Idea for a name: Arthur Winston. Named after The Legendary King Arthur and WWII's Famous PM, Winston Churchill.
I'll stop now though, don't want to get Babywatch locked.
Yeah, we're all reptilians. We have a base in the moon.
So you throw one last insult at us as you leave? Mature.
Why should I care about some spoiled brat that was born across the ocean?
Please people, if you are entering just to say "who cares" and such, please just close the thread and go onto another..
This is a joyous occasion and If you don't care about it, just ignore the thread entirely..
how does the saying go? If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all?
To those over in England, any idea what the names gonna be yet? what are the odds for on names at the bookies?
Is everyone over there so rude about their opinion? Jesus, talk about giving your country a bad name...
It's a baby. You don't need to be so hateful towards the damn thing. Just leave.
