[Attention] "Bug" list for the PS3

How do I tell how many hours I have been playing for?

Anyway, I've been playing for quite a while and have experienced two lock ups requiring hard resets and last night started to experience lag after a long session on the game. Hopefully this doesn't continue as bad lagging is the only thing that will really hamper my enjoyment of the game - I can even handle the total lock ups as I save relatively often.

The only other thing I have encountered is that I cannot sprint sometimes when in first person view. When I switch to third person it works fine. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to this.

i was practising combat extensively today in order to get better at it and found some issues that occur.

- sometimes the impact sound when you hit an enemy does not play. you know your strike definitely hit because their health goes down, but the sound didn't occur. sometimes this will happens for 3 or 4 consecutive strikes. annoying because you think you haven't hit them.

- occasionally during combat you realise that you stamina bar isn't diminishing when you use power attack. it still goes down when you sprint, but never for power attacks. strangely the bug goes away just by re-starting the console.

- sometimes the attack button is unresponsiveness when attacking enemies. i like to use the 'unrelenting' shout to stagger enemies and get a few hits in, but i find that there is often a delay in my player hitting the enemy despite me frantically pressing r1 for attack. when i am in the open i have no problem swinging my sword and getting a rhythm for the swipes, but when in actual combat in becomes very unresponsive to my button presses.

- occasionally when changing spells (while holding sword in other hand) the unsheathe animation for my sword will play again despite it already being out.

How do I tell how many hours I have been playing for?

You will see the time you played on the load file of that playthrough only. So if you have differnt saves of different playthroughs, the time will not be the same.

Ahhhh, thank you for that.

I have been looking through all the menus but couldn't find anything - that'll be why!!

Horn Of Jurgen Quest---
I cannot learn the last 'Shout' word. After I returned the horn, three men surrounded the big square in the ground, but no word appeared. When you talk to them, all they do is bow. I tried skipping it and going on with the main quest, but eventually you find yourself back with them and nothing else to do. So now I'm stuck with no way to progress through the main story line.

-aforementioned frame rate drop issues like others have posted. For me they currently appear most frequently when riding a horse, or in combat with 4 or more enemies on screen..but sometimes simply when i attack one enemy. Edit addtional information. Level 21. Hours played 24, save file 6459MB.


- Aside from that the only other "Bug?" i've encountered is that some dragons seem not to release a soul to be upon their death. Some information that may have something to do with that..is the dragon in question, appeared to be the new resident dragon of the Bonestrewn Crest. I haven't encountered a fresh dragon that isn't a respawn to test if this is occuring with all dragons or just the respawned ones. Sorry if this an intended feature of respawned dragons, but just wanted to put it on notice in case it wasn't.

so after reaching a certain city my game now continously glitches . and is no longer playable .
all houses/buildings .... outside scenary... moving animals...guards/bandits . everything turns a solid green/blue
colour and flashes . WTF? im new to the elder scrolls games and after onloy playing for 3-4 hours this happens allready?

ive tried goinf back to earlier settlements like riverwood and whiterun but there still the same green flashing glitch .

im seriously considering tasking my game back collecting my refund, and never looking at an bethesda game again .

The fireplace in Breezehome casts terrible shadows on surfaces that shouldn't be there.

Gamebreaking bug in main quest Alduin's Wall: After activating the blood seal the two NPCs needed for lerning the secret of Alduin's Wall run back to the beginning of the temple where the player has to turn three pillars to lower a bridge. The NPCs stand there and do nothing and you can't complete the main quest. I cleared Sky Haven Temple way before I got the quest so this might have caused this glitch.

Hahaha :tops: YES this happened to me too, but what a way to die, flying over the town or where ever you are, I liked it and died several times, it was funny as can be!

I've encountered a slight bit of lag every now and then.

The most annoying issue I've run into is sometimes when I die the game freezes and gets stuck on the load screen.

Everything remains responsive (music, 3D model, rotating text) but I never leave the screen and have to reboot the game.

One bug I found - though I'm waiting to see if it goes away:
The beginning of the Thieves Guild quests, I'm supposed to talk to Brynolf. When I visit the pub to talk to him, he acts like I've already talked to him, yet my quest won't update to the next task.

A Side Note:
Before I spoke with Brynolf, I had opened the display case on the cart of the person I'm supposed to take the ring from. Not sure if this is related.

Duel wield weapons.. They dont display correctly after awhile. Only the mainhand will show.

In the beginning both will show... See picture..

When I break into a closed store in Whiterun the owner's ghostly voice sometimes talks even though they are not there. This has happened at both Warmaiden's and the alchemy shop.

Whenever I am in Markarth, the map shows me being at the Lover's Stone. When I click to show current location, the cursor starts moving towards Markarth then jumps back to the Lover's Stone. It shows the wrong location in a couple of other places too.

Hello,

I have about 25+ hours on my game and I've been experiencing major lag and framerate issues. This happens in battles against most enemies, and even walking, to the point where the game locks up for about 3 seconds. Usually, it happens whenever I've been playing for an extended period of time, but now it happens minutes after I start my game.

Also, today I was walking around Solitude, when these random black horizontal lines began to appear and circle above the ground.

-I'm getting slowed, delayed gameplay, (Weapons won't draw, potions won't take effect, etc... until almost a minute after I've tried to perform said actions, along with the usual studdering walk/run into town or high activity areas)
-It takes forever to load to the title screen (though, this can usually be fixed by giving the ps3 a break)
-I will randomly absorb a dragon soul, in the middle of nowhere with no dragon in sight.
-There is a random dragon (out around the little cave where you get the bow of the hunt) that lands, turns into a skeleton, and flys away
-During the middle of conversation with the Dark elf at the shrine of Azura, she'll just quit talking to me. I'll ALMOST get the quest off of her
then it cuts like I just ended the conversation. I tried to have that conversation for a good twenty minutes.

Finally, when I brought the game home after Gameslop's midnight release, I patched and went to start a new game. I was giddy with excitement after a 12 hour shift at a gas station, my adventure was about to begin!

Then, it cut to some naked generic character dying.

A real quick death, then it'd act like it was loading again, then it'd be at the title screen again.
I'd click "new game" it'd start all over.
Finally, I uninstalled the patch and reinstalled it and never had
a problem until after I'd played for about 6 solid hours yesterday. Then all of the above problems I originally mentioned began and haven't quit.
I hate posting on forums, but I figured this might be the best place to let someone know about these problems.

One time i fast traveled to riften and i was stuck half way in the ground and couldent get out after about ten minutes of running and jumping it finally fixed itself.

I'm using an old fat 60GB PS3, and I'm surprised how well it has run. Its been so smooth, with not a single crash or lag so far. I'm level 10 and have played 17 hours.

Couple of minor bugs that I've noticed -

- Lydia gets stuck in the Sun/Sand Tower Annex (where the workbench/grindstone is). She won't ever leave unless you fire her and fast travel back to Dragonsreach.

- During the load screens...the smoke effect appears from the bottom of the screen, but no actual picture + gameplay hint appears. This happens about 50% of the time.

Also, and this is more of a general wonderingment than anything else. As stated, I'm level 10 and my game save file is already 4333KB. Its growing quite rapidly...so are we going to have the dreaded unplayability of Fallout 3 once the game save file reaches 10MB? I suspect not, but some doubt remains. New Vegas, on the other hand still had a level 38 character having a save file just under 10MB, and crashes were very few and far between.

I was using him to train my magic cause in theory he is good for that but in doing so my save has ballooned to 22mb, I can't use any vendor, the FPS makes the game unplayable (4 to 5 seconds between frames) and Vilkas just says "What do you think this is? We don't do battle with magic around here new blood. Now come at me!". I tried going to my house and tossing on some heavy armor with a sword and shield and attacking him but he just repeats the line and the quest never completes and the game just lags more and more.

I do understand you are not supposed to use him to level magic but doing so should not break the game.

-endless loop from Markarth City Guard, post "chdnia mine" gaurds caught in endless loop of telling me ive broken the law, but wont take me to jail when i surrender (havent tried paying the fine, i just dont have 4000g to spare, especially if it doesnt do any good)

-SDTV border/text issues like almost everyone else

-dragon souls not being absorbed upon slaying (only with white dragons... strange)

I can't learn the Word of Power at Kilkreath Ruins, either before or after Meridia's quest. I hear the chanting and see the wind blowing from the wall, but the word isn't glowing and I can't learn it.

I've heard of a few other people encountering this glitch at both the same and other Word Walls. It's possible that it happens when the words of a Shout are learned in the "wrong" order. I think this is a cross-platform bug, but I'm playing on a new 160 GB PS3 Slim.
