Seriously?
Well regardless OP, you don't represent all RPrs. I know many RPrs who are and will be fully capable of Roleplaying in ESO. Too bad you won't be able to, good luck in your search for the perfect MMO.
I honestly do not have a problem with it. I rarely pay attention to chats, anyway
No it's not, it's about becoming another character in another world. In this game however RP will now be about adapting...which will ruin the RP. There are basic features that should be included to make this playstyle viable and enjoyable.
I certainly represent a majority after having been in multiple RP guilds for a decade or so. And of course we'll be capable of RPing, but it will be an inconvenience, instead of something natural. Yes chat bubbles are that important, which is why they are in most AAA MMOs today.
That's because you don't RP
Are you being serious right now? I can tell you don't even pay a single attention to any details about this game.
You both are crying over spilt milk. Seriously.
Seriously.
And you think you represent all RPers?
As for me, if you find me in the game world (although I'm having large doubts about this game right now), don't expect me to respond to you - I don't stare at the chat window while playing.
And yes Most of the developers at Zenimax have work on previous MMOS and probably play a few themselves. I wouldnt question this games Capability and the integrity of the development company just based on information we are receiving from CLOSED beta. WE have MONTHS to go still things can and will change. Most of the implemented features will probably stay but there are ALWAYS possibilities
What if enemy health bars were removed from PvP. What if when in PvE bosses didn't give any attack animations?
SImple features mean a LOT, and to RPers chat bubbles are very important, just like health bars to PvPers, or attack animations to PvEers.
I will ask you again what I asked you in the other thread: Do you read what you type?
You are saying I don't pay a single attention to any details about this game... and then you tell me I'm crying over spilt milk (which I'm guessing implies that I am complaining over a small feature of the game). Seriously?
I'm not even an RPr like I said, but I seem to know more about what it takes and whats needed to RP then those in this thread. All you need is the interface, how basic or how featured it is, is regardless, roleplay is roleplay.
Yeah, I'm fully aware of what I'm typing. You said that ZOS is clearly not making this game for RPers. And I clearly said that you aren't following this game at all, because if you were you'd know that they were.
So, yes, you are crying over split milk.
Lol..................um.........................did you really just say that?
How are they exactly making this game for RPers?
I don't think you do. You can RP in a chat window (which is what is going to happen, apparently), but it will not be sufficient.
Except... they aren't. No chat boxes = silent and confused players. Silent and confused players cannot RP or socialize properly.
Pretty sure there is a chat box in this game. I think you are confusing chat box for chat bubbles.
Chat boxes and bubbles are the same thing. I think you're confusing chat windows with chat boxes/bubbles.
MY Final stand on this
How can you say you like the Fantasy genre, Love roleplaying and creating stories, losing yourself in another world. yet be so close minded to suggestions and change.
WHen authors write stories, if they don't have a specific computer or that SPECIAL pen. that does not hinder them and just say ' Screw that idea not going to bother with it anymore' . You find a way. There is always a way.
ESO is your paper, find your own writing instrument and write your story. If you find a small interruption for your plan, work it out , EVERYTHING and ANYTHING is Possible.
You're going to deep on it. This is a game, and it's not us losing "that special pen" it's losing a feature that over the years has become a basic need of serious RP. This isn't "change," it's removal, it's a loss of a feature we have had for years, and should still have. Especially when it's such a simple one to add in.
Except people may not like the book (people not liking the RP options). It may be very hard to read or understand (in my experience, it is extremely difficult to know when you are being talked to without chat bubbles or who you are talking to). What then? People will stop reading the book (stop RPing or playing the game) and the book will be recognized as a bad book (people will stop buying the game). You can write a book with whatever pen you like, but when you write a book in stone... it simply will not work.
And if the outcome is that there are some RPr's dont like ESO's features, then so be it. you always have a choice to stop and find what caters to you. Being Realistic here. There is no way Humanly possible to satisfy everyone and make them happy. Something will always be wrong in someones eyes, best part about being different =)
Or they could make both audiences happy. There is a very, very simple solution here - add the option to disable chat bubbles. I have never seen anyone, ever, ever complain about there being chat bubbles.
But its not what Zenimax wants for the game that they are developing. They knew the outcome of the choices they made when excluding chat bubbles. The probably had the same debate inner office as we are having now. They chose what they felt was best for this game.
They don't want their players to be happy?
1) Give chat bubbles
2) give option to disable chat bubbles
Who loses in this situation? Because the RPers are the ones losing right now...
I don't understand how leaving out chat bubbles is best for the game. How could chat bubbles possibly hurt the game?
