No, just because it ends in "us" doesn't mean the plural should end in "i". It's stems from a misperception of Latin grammar; octupus really should be pluralized as octopuses. People have said "octopi" often enough that it's become acceptable, however.
Also, I can't remember if chauruses have 6 legs or not, and I think the loading screen actually says "insect" rather than "insectoids", but regardless, they have too many body sections to be insects anyway, regardless of legs. Insects only have a head, abdomen and thorax.
Also, cuttlefish are a variety of cephalopod like squid and octopuses, but they aren't squid.
