My biggest problem with becoming archmage is becoming archmage no matter what. I played the whole plot with my thief and had her pretend to be a mage and feign interested in anything but the guild's freebies. So she fetched a staff and stabbed an elf and now she's the archmage. The other members of the college must be really incompetent when the Psijic Order has to show up and appoint some amateur spellcaster to be their archmage.
True.
I totally forgot that.
That's not only problem with the College, but with almost everything else in the game.
You are always the chosen champion who's name is written in the starts and crap like that.
It actually makes game pretty linear.
I also hate the fact that Ancano was the bad guy at the end since it was predictable as sunrise in the morning.
It would be much more interesting and would invoke much more emotions if, let's say, Tolfdir turns out to be a bad guy due to him being crazed by the power of the Eye or something like that and Ancano is one who helps you save the day (yeah, I know it's nothing special, but at least it's better than what we have).
Also, being able to save Arch-Mage or letting someone else taking that role would also be pretty damn good since I personally I do have interest in mastering magic, but am still not suited for being a leader.
You know what is most ironic about Skyrim?
The fact that it's M rated!
Honestly, it is M rated, but it's content is actually for children. >_>
I advise Bethesda to make actually a mature game for mature people next time since that's what made TES into a legendary game series it is now.
