Coolest Looking Armor

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 10:10 pm

My favorite so far is scale (the regular, not the one with the dead goat strapped to the back). And I like all the varieties of bandit armour types, and light legion armour. I quite like iron because I like the furry look. Thieves guild armour is alright aswell.

My favorite set would be scale, with steel horned helm and iron gauntlets.

I dont like Elven or glass, they look cool just dont not look light weight. Deadric is alright looking though my main wouldnt wear it due to his alignment. I am disappointed with dragon armor. With a fully perked smithing skill at max-level, the best I can do is slap a bunch of bone together to make something that looks slightly more advanced than what cavemen could do?
Love Scale horn armor for light and Ebony for heavy. I like dwarven a bit too, though I couldnt say why.

I hope to see a mod that adds more versions of armor types, gladiator, field-plate, and barbarian.

I don't like any armor in the game.
Yeah but you have a chitinous exoskeleton that protects you from most injuries. We humans have to make due.

Armor like heronemous lex from oblivion, but maybe a little fancier if your talkin nobel. In skyrim I like forsworn as it was very sixy on my female imperial. After that Ive used modded armor, CBBE FTW :P

To how people are saying plate armor looks like it protects you; elven armor should be decorative cause it was made by the elves, and it is supposed to be decorative. Even though it looks decent at best in this game.

The most horrible looking I've seen so far is glass. I mean my god, they had options and they chose that. I don't like leather either, it would be ok but for the overly large pauldrons. There's a bosmer on one of the loading screens who's wearing leather without the pauldrons and it looks much better.

I always wondered why there's no chainmail in the game. It seems like a no brainer. I'd love something dirty, and utilitarian looking, maybe over a leather jerkin. The imperial studded armour is the closest thing but they way they've done the chainmail section makes it look like plastic or something.

i like the lower end armors alot. in fact they are the best of any game i can think of recently with the exception of mount and blade and skyrim beats those armors on textures. my personal favorite is scale for light armor (though it could use a bit more coverage around the arms) and orc for heavy armor. i HATE glass because its bulkier than most of the heavy armors and is probably the least sneak of all the armors period. running around looking like the green lantern isnt going to win you an sneak awards. i also happen to feel the same way about the low tier weapons especially the steel weapons compared to the high end weapons which look just as cartoony as the high end armors.......ebony being the worst offendor with those awful swords. the blades are so thick on them you wouldnt be able to cut a stick of butter with blades that fat in real life.

clearly whoever designed the low end weapons and armor googled some pics of actual armor and weapons while the people that did the high end gears went and played WoW for a few hours for inspiration.

I was going to make a post but realised it wouild be pretty much what this guy said. So list instead:
Light: Scaled, Leather, Thieves Guild, Fur
Heavy: Iron, Orcish (#1 if I am an Orc character though) Steel, Steel Plate (with Horned Steel helm)

I like the less fantastical looking stuff I guess.

It's not the idea of a two-handed sword or a gun-blade combo are ridiculous, it's the specific examples used in FF, the buster sword is so [censored] broad it'd serve better as a paddle, and Squall's gunblade is designed in such a way that makes it useless as either a gun OR a blade.

Also a musket is a type of rifle, the word you were looking for is bayonet

thank you, i could not think of the word fo rit at the time

I prefer Steel Plate and mor realistic armor in general. On theother hand I like how they have a little of both realistic and fantasy armor.

I personally like the look of Daedric Armor. As a Warrior/Black-mage combo, I named my character specifically (Nightmare) from the Soul Calibur series (after #2) using Great Swords instead of Warhammer's and War Axes (two handed). It looked intimidated and BA to me with the name fitting and how I played. I really care-less for the Dragon Scale armor (Light) or the Dragon Heavy armor. They don't look appealing or tasteful at all. I've seen better Dragon armor in a Final Fantasy game >.<

For Heavy Armor, I like Ebony, Steel, Imperial, and Steel Plate the best.

As far as Light Armor, I like Studded, Scaled, Fur, and Nightingale (Prime).

Wolf Armor with a Steel Plate Helm, and an Imperial Shield at times too. Great combination, as the pauldrons are nice and bulky, the helm is winged and closed, and the shield reminds me of the Shield of Julianos.

I like the Nightingale Armor.

I can imagine your guy in Nightingale Armor grabbing someone by the throat and they say "WHAT ARE YOU?" and you say "I'M BATMA... errr... An Assassin? Thief?... Warrior? Krosis, I have no idea!"

Hide armour. Leather armour for snowy areas. I like it that it does not cover the whole body. What people who argue against armour with gaps forget is that most armour in human history covered only parts of the body and many warriors even fought without armour. Steel and Old Nord for heavy armour. My preferred helmet is the horned steel helmet.

I don't like fantasy armour like glass, ebony, Daedra or dragon, never liked them in TES and never wore them.

I love the Fur/Hide/Scaled Armors. I also like the Elven armor for a more stylish look.
From heavy: Steel plate, Wolf, Iron.

I do not like the Daedric Armor...it's just too...I don't know..."Pimp my Armor".

Full set: the scaled armor, followed by the steel plate armor

Steel Plate
1.to me it looks "Holy knight"
2.with smithing can be made to take only 5 less damage than dragonplate (fully upgraded) and it weighs less
