Coolest Looking Armor

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 11:28 am

While Skyrim has a wide variety of armors ranging from the realistic iron and steel armors, to the out there Glass and Daedric armors, which one do you believe is the best looking? While I use Daedric armor I always thought it looked very out of place and it somewhat ruins the noble hero aspect of my character when I look like the dark lord Sauron. Ebony looks cool, except for the shoulders and helmet which look straight out of an RPG. Iron has bulky shoulder pads if it's the banded variety and makes your character look like he/she has small legs. Dwarven looks too bulky and Orcish always seemed too ridiculous.

I've always been fond of Steel Plate Armor, it's nordic carvings and winged helm fit with the setting and the shoulderpads are reasonable enough that you look like you could actually fit though a door. The only thing I would change would be replacing the black/blue cloth/leather with chainmail underneath the armor. Then again, I tend to use heavy armor and not bother with light armor.

What do you believe is the best looking armor?

i think that the realistic look is really the way to go, armor should be there to protect a body part and not to look pretty, although i do think that they can make some armor look tougher by adding a few spikes and what not.

their armors are generic looking and terrible... diablo II had better designed unique armors and that came out well over a decade ago..

I thought the Acient Nord Armor was pretty neat, it does look original while actually make you feel like a nord hero.

Seriously, why the hell are you here if you hate this game so much? None of your posts are even the least bit constructive.

On topic: I just found the Ebony Mail, and I like that alot, especially with the shroud effect it does.

Oh yeah, the revealing outfits that double as shameless fan-service in the [censored] game Final Fantasy X-2 were definately unique, stupid, but unique. Hell most of them wore more clothing when in bikinis than their actual combat attire. And don't even get me started on the buster-sword, gunblade, wrist-mounted dog gun and [censored] volly-ball.

Why did you attack FF? He was talking about diablo.

Wolf Armor and Nightengale are my favorites. I much prefer the realistic looking armors and weapons. I was playing Mount and Blade Warband the other day and I thought how cool it would be if that many armor variants were in Skyrim. Maybe after the CK we'll get some improvements.

I prefer the realistic looking armor (tried the glass and didnt liked what ive seen therefor staied with the scale)
The best looking armor in my opinion is the scale armor, it look like it have the ability to protect and it is none skimpi.

actually a buster sword in skyrim would be totally believable, it is called a claymore and meant to be healed with 2 hands, and gunblades have been used in real life, it is called a rifle with a bayonet on the end of it (small blade but still a gunblade)

anyway, i love the armour in TES and im stuck between dwemer or theives guild for the best looking armour, i like the simplicity of it

Coolest armor I found is a mix.

Daedric Gauntlets (for awesome claws when casting magic)
Orcish Helm (For the horsehair plume and relatively open-face)
The rest has got to be Ebony

Fur armor with daedric boots is the best looking gear, especially with a legendary honed draugr greatsword on your back, man, your looking TOUGH!

Blades armor is my favorite, it feels badass taking on a dragon in that gear. Looks realistic too. My character wears Blades armor (untouched), Ebony Gauntlets (archery enchantment), and steel boots (stamina) and a Blades helmet when in battle or Nightingale hood when on the road. I typically use Spellbreaker and Skyforge Steel sword. It's a poor photo, but http://i.imgur.com/hEprM.jpg

When using stealth, I prefer Ebony Mail or Nightingale armors.
