Could not stop laughing

Raiders are awesome; I'd say sneaking around raider hideouts listening to them trash talk is a good 40% of why I love Fallout 3 and FO4. They did a great job with them in this game. Only thing that could be better is a DLC that expanded on them and the various other 'shady' factions and basically embroiled the PC in a few different factions. So many possibilities: prostitution, slavery, drug trafficking, cannibalism, drive-bys, raiding, gang wars, etc.

I love the Raiders - to the point where I get quite sad when I have to clear out a Raider hideout. I recall in Back Street Apparel, when the Raider chick is telling her friend about how they pranked the new raider boy who was afraid of fire... it brought back memories of my student days (although our pranks never did backfire and cause the death of a fellow student). I just didn't have the heart to go in shooting them after that. And they're not just the good-for-nothings they're supposed to be - the stuff they build in some of their hideouts are really impressive. When I went back to Thicket Excavations I was really impressed with what they built on top of the existing quarry (although what the Gunners did with Quincy was even better). I really need a mod where you can recruit raiders and give them a new chance at life as settlers or something. Maybe with Rank 3 Intimidation or something. Then you can hear them chitchat in your settlements.

My first time going to Libertalia was for the Institute quest to capture Gabriel. When I get there, the Brotherhood showed up, too. I found the courser I was suppose to do the mission with (forget his name) was engaged with a paladin. He was getting his tail end handed to him but I didn't dare help him because I wanted to remain friendly with the Brotherhood. Fortunately the courser was essential for the mission so the paladin could never truly win.

After watching the courser get his butt kicked several times I decided to continue on without him. Turned out he kept trying to follow me when he had the chance, but then he'd reengage with the paladin and get his butt kicked all over again. The battle ended up getting fought across the ship bridges behind me until the paladin was finally worn down and defeated. Unfortunately he fell into the water and I couldn't loot his power armor.

Click somewhere on the screen with your mouse (not on the dialogue options)

The one and only time I ran into him was on the train tracks as Nick and I were following Dogmeat to Fort Hagen. Companions have some interesting reactions to odd situations and I would really like to run into him while I had the real Preston in tow.

Ok, we all know that every companion has their own set of Hates, Dislikes, Likes and Loves. It turns out that at least two of them like it when you fast travel nvde. All of the companions will occasionally comment on it. One of the things Piper says is that she wishes she had a camera. Preston will talk about sunburns. My favorite though (which may be lost on some people) is Hancock saying, "Hey Emperor. Really like the look."

Or press down arrow. I find that it's more reliable because with clicking sometimes I end up pulling out my sniper rifle. I don't quite fire it, but it breaks immersion. :)

Both times I've done that quest had a BoS vertibird present. Luckily both times they were a bit away. First time it was hovering close to the shore and the raiders helped make quick work of it as well as the ground team. The second time the robots (Sentry Bot, Assaultron and Mr. Gutsy) from the nearby army depot helped, never saw a ground team but they might have been blown all over the place. There were some big explosions in the distance from a dying sentry bot and 2 or 3 cars.

I really like watching the various factions duke it out, kill any hostiles afterwards and just grab a ton of loot.

Piper: "Helping a brother is OK, but I am glad we are not joining up with them. I already have enough people shouting at me!" :)

One fun thing is then you have many followers at one location like the castle I tend to get storms of complains if I pick more water than I can carry even if its just to move from workbench to the for sale box.

Accidentally targeted The traveling Doc's Brahmin the other day. It's name was Idiot. I almost fell out of my chair.
