Creation Kit for Skyrim 1.8

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 1:39 am

I deleted some posts - well, specifically the one where the poster made a good effort to derail the thread with rants about the CK. The OP has asked people to stay on topic, another moderator came in and deleted some stuff cautioning it to stay on topic. (Occasional comments about Star Trek are allowed. )

I'm sitting on pins and needles, hoping everything goes well so that maybe by this evening when I get home from work there is a new CK. I'm very anxious to start decoding new records, if any, and any changes in the order of the subrecords that may have occurred. With the compression routines finished for TESVSnip now I need to get that project moving forward again for a public release and it's current issue is the xml file and the order of the subrecords. I'm very excited to see what the new CK provides the modding community.

It's Monday, where's the update?

Monday isn't over for Beth for another 13.5 hours.

Be patient.

Not to mention the fact that something could happen to push it back at least another day.

It's not the like the world's ending.

From GStaff:" Update isn't far off. We're working with getting it up with the folks from Valve. Fingers crossed for Monday."

That doesn't mean we're getting it today, just that they are hoping it will be. It'll be here in time. :)

Thank the Nine I didn't make my mod dependent on Update.esm, I bet we'll have a long wait ahead of us.

Hmm, my guess is that we won't get the update until Dragonborn is available on Steam. Unless they're going for yet another update to the CK for that DLC.

A nice thing for me has been that this CK outage corresponded to the appearance of Vilja and I got to play. Whenever I thought about my little mod with the thralling system, I could shove the thought aside and listen to Vilja and Lydia sing. Of course, that ruined my weekend of chores, but I will just have to live with that.

If the CK is updated today, at "the usual time", I believe that would most likely be roughly within the next hour. (Or perhaps two.) My impression is, that the most typical time for Steam updates has been early afternoon, default forum time (= 12:40 PM for the creation of this post).

Keep in mind what time zone every one is in. For me the updates usually come anywhere from 12-4, meaning in one hour a 4 hour window starts. It would seem Valve likes to push out updates right after coming back from lunch. Hopefully we get it today.

At least we know it's definitely on its way soon, even if it's not today. More than can be said about the PC release for Dragonborn.

Good news for modders -- the Papyrus source for Hearthfire is included with the 1.8 Creation Kit update.

Good, off to prep. Nothing worse than getting caught with potentially updated vanilla scripts you might have altered :P

-Confirming that CK 1.8.151.0 loads Skyrim.esm and Update.esm without any problems.

I just had a face palm moment and laughed.
Glad it lightened the mood a bit :).

Great the CK is out, now I can get on without worrying about all those updates I was ignoring (removed Update.esm dependency while I tested my air-to-air homing missiles).

The following vanilla scripts have been updated:

QF__02004ABA.psc

PatchDLC1DoorFixScript.psc
Actor.psc
QF_WEDL06_000B91C1.psc
WEDL06LetrushOnDeathScript.psc
Game.psc
AchievementsScript.psc
WEDL06LetrushCleanupTriggerScript.psc

Actor.psc and Game.psc will probably cause some minor grief over SKSE stuff until they have a chance to update for it.
