Next up is "The Study of Stealth". It's great these things exist but they can show so much more. Can't wait to see the next batch of videos and previews.

I'd rather they not show too much more  I'm already feeling the urge to go into blackout mode. No way I can resist that next video though.

This one was definitely awesome. The "creative" in the title is well deserved.

Only thing that puzzled me was how the explosive container at 2:55 stopped in midair after being thrown. I thought anything that you touch is brought into your time? Do objects return to frozen time then after traveling a certain distance, or after a given time span has passed, etc?

He threw it before freezing time and then froze it at the half-way point of his objective, blinked to a solid spot, plucked the battery from the air which unfroze time since that was the object affected. Then he chucked it.

Even though we'd heard this would be a possibility, I thought it was cool that Corvo took the grenade once time froze and threw it back at the cluster of guards. Seeing the rewire work was new to me also (I'm easy to please when it comes to new lol)

One thing that seems off to me: I know it's an awesome way to use possession---spring-razor on rat, walk furry death over to guards and splat-fun. From other talks of how possession works, with possessing a person to walk him to his death and trying to blink out afterwards the timing has been described as tricky in my estimation. I'd think the margin for error with a rat-trap would be higher, but it seems like you leapt out after the trap is sprung with no harm one time and near death the second time (screen went gray). I'm wondering how much of an interval we have before it's too late to escape a possessed target basically (I am not on the ball today).

Wow, this was great! While mundane, my favorite was probably when he froze time and threw back the grenade.

Nah man he picked it up and froze time almost the same time. He chucked it maybe 1-2 seconds after freezing time

Since Time Bend wasn't upgraded in this video The Spring Razor will be triggered.

Oh, and it was gray the second time because it was still in Time Bend, the first one wasn't.

I thought both versions of the power still ended after a frozen object came into contact physically with another object or person. So Stop Time lets you decide when objects and people come out of freeze?

The power doesn't end. And only Corvo can unfreeze something for a brief period if he touches them.

I hope theres an option to turn off the whispers. They'll be cool at first but I don't wanna hear whispers every single time I blink

Well, OK, now that's nit picking. You can barely hear them and I don't think you will be focusing too much on them while playing. Also you probably won't be able to turn them off but who knows. Extensive options are extensive after all.

I can and I will because it's a sound effect of the game. That's like saying you want the engine sound of racing games to be turned off. And it's really not that big of an issue since you can choose to you spells more often than you would drive in a racing game. Sorry, it's not a valid criticism.

Harvey confirmed it, no way to turn them off. Which game can turn off footstep sounds?

Skyrim and Fallout 3 are the two that come off the top of my head. And I think you'll prolly say that thats due to them being rpg's and walking for hours and hours you might start getting annoyed by the footsteps. And as for the whispers, once I logged off and thought about it, it is a petty criticiticism most likely induced by me being up for 24 hours, so I'll try and make sure I don't make this mistake again. Small stuff irritates me when I'm tired so i'll think about that when i post my negativity on the game

Not really. I don't hear footsteps when I play Skyrim. At least I don't pay attention to them.

Yea Skyrim wasn't an issue for me. Fallout 3 though, that got on my nerves so i had to turn them all the way down

Edit: Not that you care strife, or any of you really. But just to clarify, I'm fine with the no turning whispers off cuz in all honesty I saw some1 complaining about it on youtube and thought yea they are kind of annoying but after re watching the videos nah there no louder than the in game music. And I'm deleting my other posts cuz it was a silly, lack of sleep induced rant.

Oh, I so care. If someone criticizes something I like I will care the hell out of it. It's like I said two months ago, there is really nothing to talk about other than nit picks. Let me just say this, the game won't be a masterpiece. It will have issues but not major ones that can break the game. It's like Deus Ex in that regard and like Deus Ex in the fact it will have amazing writing (that I know for sure) and nice mechanics that will stick with people. Nothing logically can ruin this game for me. If they start adding random bs that makes no sense and they completely screw up the development process, then in that case the game will be a disappointment or a disaster. People try to argue that it lacks challenge (having seen only gameplay videos with everything unlocked) and that it's clunky (which makes no sense when everybody who's played it, especially at QuakeCon recently, says that the controls are tight and intuative).

I understand the concern, really I do, I just don't think there should be an outrage about it or anything. Even for the major things like mod tools or third person camera: "This game SHOULD have it or I will not buy it!!!". Dude, who the f*** cares. There's a sea of great titles that people don't even acknowledge. Maybe it's just me because I tend to never complain about anything and look for a more peaceful or quiet approach to things. That and well I try to be a ghost and find that is the best way you can live your life. Maybe that's why Thief 2 is my favorite game. Only when I play it then I feel at peace. Yeah, this derailed fast as my conversation tent to do. My point is don't get too hung up about it and take things cool.

I know exactly what you mean. Especially about how the people on youtube complain about the most stupid stuff. "The game looks like it was made in 2007" yea not every game has to look like crysis 2 in order to be good looking. But the ones I hate the most are what you pointed out the "this game looks really easy". o really? yea maybe on the easy difficulty setting sure but go and try and take on 3+ guards at once, you can't keeping using time stop forever. Side Note: Wtf do these people expect a trailer to look like, "oh look he died again, oh he messed up again," Of course there gonna show you some of the badass stuff you can do. And I do understand the people making these comments aren't following the game in the least but really most previews state "hey the head on conflict approach is hard". Whatever though those people weren't going to buy the game in the first place so no real need to care about their opinion in the least.
