it looks like fallout New vegas is shaping up to be a really good game, but are there anythings that you feel should be changed.

i wish that they would not reveal who shot you and what was in the package at the beggining of the game. it would have been nice to have to piece back together memories of that night trying to remember who shot you. and then hunting him down and finding out what was in the package.

but if they reveal it at the beggining that takes some of the mystery out of it.

what complaints do you have about it so far.

Ps. like i said im not saying this game is bad. but every game has some things we would like to see changed

I want the Alien Power Cells gone.

I am still not a hundred 100% sure how Wild Wasteland will work. Will the Fallout 2 style humor be in the game, it's just that the trait makes you a "weirdness magnet" and you encounter them more? Or is it you need the trait to see the popculture stuff like FO2 had?

Other then that it looks like an awesome Game :fallout:

F:NV is indeed looking to be a great game that'll offer many hours of fun gameplay.

Despite all the improvements and that I do understand why things are as they are, my biggest peeve is still the lack of changes from Fallout 3. I can but imagine what would the endresult be if Obsidian was given enough time and free hands to craft a game from the ground up using the engine of their choosing and the design of their choosing.

I expect a good experience based on what I've seen so far, but as I got bored with Fallout 3's general gameplay it does cast some shadows over New Vegas too.

My only real complaint so far is that it seems like Slots, Roulette and Blackjack are going to be the only Casino games. I would have liked to have more like the Wheel of Fortune(?) and Craps. I would like a Poker variation in the Casino but its most likely that the Caravan game is some kind of Poker spin-off.

EDIT: Oh and I really hope they tweaked lock picking. You should always be able to attempt to pick any lock regardless of your skill but it should be very hard/near impossible if your skill isnt anywhere near whats required. In Fallout 3 an easy lock was the same difficulty whether your skill was 25 or 100. The only thing lock picking seemed to increase (between 25-49, etc) was the chance to force the lock open.

It should change so that-
1. You can attempt any lock regardless of skill.
2. Increasing lock pick increases the area the bobby pin has to be in to successfully open the lock.

EXAMPLE-
They give each lock a starting success area based on difficulty
Very Easy 20 degrees
Easy 0 degrees
Moderate -20 degrees
Hard -40 degrees
Very Hard -80 degrees

Total area = 180 degrees

Then make it so each level in lockpick increases the area by 1 degree. So being at level 43 attempting a Moderate lock would give you a 23 degree area of success. Anything at or below 0 would be impossible. Of course these numbers are just for the sake of explaining, they could be tweaked.

I loved Fallout 3, and New Vegas is shaping up to be a much improved version of it, so there really isn't much I've seen to complain about yet. Of course, that could and likely will change when I get the game.

A thread just for me? :)
Actually the only things I'm kinda  and :stare: about are:
Repcon (But I'm going to give it a break until the game has come out)
100% repair by using duplicates with 13 in repair skill.
Burned Man. (Again, going to wait and see how he is (If he's even in this game) but if they've toned him down then I'm going to be pretty pissed off)
Molerats don't have hair like the previous west coast versions.
Ghouls still looks like burned victims.
Achievements are all crap.
The name for the survival skill (should be cooking and crafting) and the name for hardcoe mode (should be survival mode)

Thought my list was gonna be longer. ;)

I want the Alien Power Cells gone.

I agree, nerf the alien blaster a little and let it use energy/microfusion cells.
Only reason for them being there is to limit the OP gun.

One can always criticize the info that's out there.

Honestly, im quite content. Though, i wish those crappy lockpicking and hacking minigames where gone. They annoy the hell out of me, i wish it was just skill based and there was a skillcheck for it. Much easier.

Of course, but things may also not meet your expectations and be awful as well.
So who know's, Burned Man might be even more evil and dark and kickass than in Van Buren.
Repcon Might be brilliantly written which excuses the goofy design.
100% repair might work incredibly well and balance the game.

Key-word is might. :D

what would you like to complain about

The forums. At this point, the game just needs to come out.... the forums just keep repeating the same junk over and over - "why Steam", "what gun/companion/faction/pre-order do you like best", "iron sights?", "what features do you already hate even though we haven't actually played the game yet", and "how come the CE/pre-order bonuses aren't all available in my local store".

At this point in time? THE FACT THAT IT IS NOT OUT. :nuke: :nuke: :nuke:

Currently about the game itself? None.

*Shrug* eh, I'm neutral. I'm a little intrigued by it. I'll reserve judgement for when I see it ingame.

Agree with Styles.. worried about that Wild Wasteland trait.. I don't want to be forced to take a trait just to be able to see things I'd want to see anyway. Hopefully it does just speed up the amount of funny but I'm not sure how it would if the funny isn't randomly generated.

Agree with mr. Bigglesworth.. hope that lockpicking and hacking aren't impossible to do unless you have the skill.. That forces me to put all my points into science and lockpicking right from the start.. because it drives me nuts that you can't blow/smash open a lock or turn on a computer and try to hack it without the skill. Just make it harder at lower skill levels.

Agree with gabriel77dan...100% repair by using duplicates with 13 in repair skill... I hadn't heard about that but that really doesn't make any sense if it's true.. I'll complain about that with you... no reason to put any points into repair if you can get things up to snuff with duplicates..

@vyvexthorne i think this time around in new vegas there won't be as many weapons in the world like in fallout 3. Fallout 3 had weapons everywhere just so you could get them to repair your weapons, but Obsidian changed that so you have to repair weapons with the repair kit. Now you get 100% repair with duplicates, cuz weapons "might" be more uncommon in NV. Just a theory of mine though.

EDIT: SpEcTrE, I'm mad that they haven't hired a bigger team to finish both Fallout 4 and TES V at about the same time!!

But you'll have had fallout 3 AND new vegas since oblivion...its only fair that a new TES comes before fallout 4. THREE fallout games before a new TES entry? No thanks.

True dat! What i don't like is that there was no "Bobble Head" trait announced!! What do i mean with Bobble Head you say?? That's the nick name that i got cuz i have a big head. :disguise: The Trait would make you resist more damage done to your head while making it easier to get hit in the head in combat. :hehe: Sounds cool right!? (oh and of course, your characters head will be larger then normal with this trait.. not toooo large though)
