Crysis 2 Delayed to Next Year!

Post » Wed Apr 14, 2010 4:49 am

Check this out:
Crysis 2 Delayed!!!
What do you guys think of that?

I was actually kinda hoping that it would be delayed, firstly because I want to finish building my new pc before crysis 2 comes out, and secondly (and more importantly) now crytek has more time to make crysis 2 the greatest game of all time.

Yeah this kinda svcks but pretty much all games get delayed. It would be great if they had just never given us a time frame for release kind of like id does "When it's Done"

*sigh* I was actually counting on Crysis 2 to help me decide between two GTX 460s in SLI or one Radeon HD 5870

On topic: They probably spent too much time on the engine (not that it's a bad thing!) and now they need more time to get the levels and or multiplayer right.
I don't buy that "improved marketing" crap. With so many games already launching in the beginning of the year much of the advantage is lost.

They sure save themselves the bad publicity, but they are quite a bit less limited than Crytek regarding schedules and deadlines.

Was waiting for it... Some how I just knew this would happen. But a delay of 3 months is not much. I have experienced a delay on 2,5 years on a book (Last book in a very exicting series) Was starting to get really pissed of in the end x)

@ hyper, they might have found a few serious bugs or they might just have realized that they wouldn't make it, this could mean more maps and gamemodes for mp and a longer singleplayer tho :P

The longer it takes the better. More time for Multiplayer balancing, beta and other things. In the end we win :)

This is good.

Because whatever the reasons they delayed it, at least the game can be worked on without having the pressure of releasing it this year.

It feels like a long way till next year, so yeah. :)

this is all just a crappy marketing ploy. crytek just doesn't want to release in the same timeframe of halo: reach.

They could be doing this just to dodge the massive console rush coming... however I still think they're biggest consumer base is on the PC. But, a few extra months to polish and hopefully heavily market the game... that could be nice :D. Still svcks though, I hate waiting haha =P

I seriously doubt that there adding multiplayer maps or adding hours or length to single player game but I do think they are balancing and are making a more balanced game.

I was thinking that the Beta was going to be announced along with the Multiplayer Demo at gamescom but now I am thinking a later date for it.

Sorta figured time was becoming an issue, and as has been said, so many other good games due in fall, still its been mentioned, if they get more dev time, we get a better game.

sure I was looking forward to it, but now I just going to look forward to it "for longer" :-)

When they do that, everyone complains that they don't know when it's coming ;)

Can't win either way.
