Dawnguard is annoying :\

Okay well I was just strolling through Riverwood, visiting some old friends when suddenly...

BAM!!

The whole freaking village dies from a clan of vampires. Wow, thanks Bethesda... for ruining part of my experience in Skyrim.

There were three master vampires, a few thralls and some more vampires. Yes I did try to save them, when I left the Riverwood Trader I noticed the majority of the guards were dead as well as the blacksmith and his wife and more friendly npcs.

This DLC bugs-out, glitches, and will out-right crash my 360 Elite many times during a day. When I contacted Bethesda on their software issues, they, predictably passed the buck as a Microsoft hardware problem.
I don't know how the original X-Box performed while playing Bethesda RPGs, but it's been my observation ( as well as many other players ) that as long as Bethesda and Microsoft keep, professionaly speaking, sleeping together, we're never going to get RPGs that actually perform to the the standards, intelligence, and talents of the people who actually sit at the keyboards and make them.
As far as Dawnguard is concerned, I made a save before downloading it. I played each faction, and,
like many folks noticed, it will trash the main game. I have since deleted the DLC and related saves, however, it hasn't been completly deleted---- Dawnguard is still in the stat. pages. I have gone back playing the main game, and will complete as many quests as possible before loading/ reloading any DLC Bethesda/ Microsoft sells.
I figure I must be holding onto the hope they will release a game/DLC that will perform beyond the mediocre expectations of what their marketing dept. thinks is acceptable. They never seem to want to break away from the " Sell it now, Fix it later " mold they created. Well, one can hope.

This is the reason I stopped playing and will not purchase anymore Bethesda Games after the Skyrim(job) debacle. Bethesda just lost myself and a few of my friends as customers...Will not pay for mediocre releases anymore...

I would say this for Skyrim as a whole...

Wow, I would think it would be scarier at night. Pretty much in all other vamp lore, they move about at night and hole up during the day somewhere and sleep...Unless you are Alucard or something...

Even funnier, IMO, I seem to have more trouble with Beth games than any other company's games I play on PC...

Skyrim is not as buggy as some other Bethesda releases (anyone remember the FO3 release?) Or how bad Morrowind was in the early days? Even Oblivion was really buggy back when it came out. ALL Bethesda games have bugs but it's to be expected since they make HUGE games you really cant fault them for not spending millions of man hours scouring for every single bug in each of their games before they're released or else we'd never even see these games they make. That's why they usually turn to the community and have us send in save files where bugs occur and *usually* watch the forums for bugs that many people are having so they can try to fix it.

Most times it helps (if you are playing the 360 version of any Beth game to install it to your hard drive and clear the cache occasionally) if you're playing on PC turn down the graphics slightly (go find an unofficial patch on the Nexus those are usually really good) PS3 doesn't really have any tricks you can do that I'm aware of.

On Topic: I like the random vamp/dawguard attacks they make it more interesting to go around and I usually kill them all before they even get near a guard (even on new characters)

I've been playing DG for awhile... and let me tell you, not a single citizen has die due to a vampire attack. turn your difficulty down if you don't want anyone to die. BAM that easy.

Not even close.

Also I'm not sure what the deal is, but I have yet to lose a citizen to vampire attacks (since the beta ended at least). Never fast travel, just roam on foot, no vampires besides the odd group in the wilderness. Whats wrong with my game? I was hoping to lose AT LEAST Madesi so I could make another thread about this stuff. Help?

I know I'm going to regret this in the morning but...your thread is annoying. :ooo:

A single guard at my spouse's farm house handled a vampire and two thralls basically on his own, so you must be having some bad luck in your game or something. Reload an auto-save if your upset about how the attack turned out.

A little harsh for me, but I definitively see where you're coming from. As is it now, Bethesda just doesn't have the qualities/will/whatever to successfully launch a game title (ignoring promotion here, just the technical aspects), so I think It is wise to stick to the GOTY versions with all DLCs included for now, and just generally ignore everything that Bethesda releases on consoles.
