I still wonder if you can do that summoning shout Duranviir did in the demo they showed.

Anyone hear that if you join the Vampire Lords you get your own castle but if you join the Dawnguard you just live in their fort? That sounds rather unbalanced to give an entire new castle as a home for joining one faction over another. Thoughts?

I'd guess in both cases it works the same. Probably you'll get to become the leader of the Dawnguard, so the fort will be de facto yours...

Makes sense but I took it to mean you get a separate castle to build up. Maybe I just took it the wrong way.

Lots of unfounded rumors floating around : (

I dont think I would believe any articles created post-e3.... As they are likely just trying to jump on the hype train.

As far as I am concerned gametrailers/gameinformer/machinima/g4/gamesspot are the only trustworthy sources as they had official interviews with bethesda staff.
Others are articles based on other articles... The kind of thing that distorts truth.

Yeah you've got a good point there. Anyone have any idea where the other large areas besides Soul Cairn and Dawnguard main area are going to be?

I find it interesting that in all the interviews he said at least 2 large areas which sort of implies there could be a third that they are not announcing as they want it to be a surprise. Maybe the third area has to do with the Falmer.

I also hope they expand the Forsworn at some point. I know what cave they are staying in and it would be awesome to join them.

I hope that Frost Giants will have their own clubs, and not use the very same as ordinary Giants (in case the big blue thing of the trailer is indeed a Frost Giant).

I hope we get to go into the soul cairn as a member of the Dawnguard. I have read all about Vamps going into there, but not a vamp hunter...

i've heard soul cairn is meant to be quite a big area so i doubt they'll only make it exclusive to vampires. would be pretty stupid

I think you'll be able to go into the soul cairn as a dawnguard at some point.
Possibly as part of a quest to get a weapon to fight the vamps or possibly to kill some more.

I'd imagine that you would go to the soul cairn to stop the vampires from finding something they need to blot out the sun but that's just my best guess.

http://www.imperial-library.info/content/soul-cairn, only two names are known, of places located within the Soul Caitn : the Coffin Chapel and the Chapel of Love (which I think has emerald gate). However, I don't know whether the castle you are referring to is either of them.

New quote from an IGN article:
http://www.ign.com/wikis/the-elder-scrolls-5-skyrim/Werewolves can turn into vampires now!
What's that supposed to mean? Unless they meant that you can now go from being a werewolf to being a vampire without having to go through the vanilla cure quest, this contradicts previous confirmations. Maybe it could be saying too that you can now be a regular vampire and a werewolf at the same time, but that doesn't sound that true to me. I think some clarity is needed here. Interesting. I'm hoping it's a reversal of the Companions quest that makes you a werewolf. If you're a vampire, it overrides your vampirism and makes you a vampire. Hopefully, this does the same thing for the Vampire Lords.

I'm really not that interested in this DLC (I'm simply not into vampires. At all) but just wanted to say that I'm actually really pleased for the Vampire fans who were dissapointed with the vanilla Skyrim/pre Dawnguard Vamps and wanted quests and more powers/perks etc. congrats comrades

I'd guess they meant what you've said - at least one of the previews mentioned that werewolves can get cured for the duration of the DLC (to become vampire lords) and then go back to lycanthropy. But not both at once.

Also, some parts of that text sound weird:
The good of being a Vampire:
Increased health, Magicka, Stamina by 50%
Turn into a vampire anywhere in Skyrim
I really doubt becoming a vampire will be that good ;)

I guess as much as well. But I quoted what is written on IGN - so everything else we find there should be taken with a grain - no, a tablespoon - of salt ;)

The kotaku article explains that there are tons of side quests. Most have to do with either the dawnguard or vampires base... but others are placed into the vanilla game and left for you to find. Todd even says there is one large sidequest that has nothing do do with the dawnguard at all, but that he says is worth finding.
Falmer related methinks.

If they are adding dark dungeons it's gonna be a lot more scary and difficult which is good. Torches will finally be worth using.

A spider infested dungeon with only the dim light of a torch and your hearing to lead you, the adventure writes itself
