Debut trailer for Dishonored

I love how Corvo doesn't give a [NUMINIT] about what his mark has to say. It's about time I got to play an assassin who wasn't contractually obliged to sit through a speech every time he killed someone.
Agreed. :D

Wow. Loved the trailer. I'm a bit more interested in this game now.

Heh...I agree. A real assassin doesn't loiter and let you finish a sentence. Hi... I'm here to kill you, you aren't going to be able to talk me out of it.

Just saw the trailer yesterday and I can say I am very intrigued. I had no idea that it was going to look this interesting. My favorite part was definitely inside the building when the guy was begging for his life saying "killing me won't solve anything," because of the quote I saw from dishonored "revenge is everything." It really put into perspective of what it's going to be like!

Like many before me, I agree.
That scene was one of the most powerful scenes I've seen yet in gaming. It's so understated - we totally expect at least a "badass" line from Corvo, but suddenly that guy's throat is slit, and an instant later, we're out of there. No "Requiescat in pace" cutscene here.

From what I've seen (http://www.gameinformer.com/p/dishonored_world_map.aspx), it takes place in an entirely different world. One strikingly different, though in places superficially similar to our own.

Intriguing. The hand animations are reminiscent of FarCry2 - the best first-person shooter I've ever played - but FarCry2 is not in the same class as Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vagas - which are moddable RPGs (not FPS) with 1st person capability (and so much more...). Anyway, the protagonist in FarCry2 had malaria, which can be chronic (to say the least) and requires medication or those hand animations are the last thing you see before hitting the dirt - well, at least the game's variety of malaria! This kind of animation gives the game a very human feel when played in the 1st person perspective.
.
Complications can make a game interesting and now there is some sort of plague in Dishonoured; Something like that could make a game very interesting - especially if the player avatar falls victim to it. I also like the advanced in some ways and seemingly backward in others. It's called culture shock and if the various advances and bits of backwardness can be tied together coherently then it is very well done indeed. Apparent discrepancies like this raise questions of their own which can become mysteries to solve in the player's mind. The trick is to make sure that there is an answer to find for those willing to look; an answer that is coherent enough to be believable within the setting of the game...
.
But, that's just my 2c.

AC3 will fulfill my assassin type game needs. :)
Well, the problem with Assassins creed is that you're not really an assassin, you're more of a mass murderer and a killing machine..

Far Cry 2 was underestimated in my opinion; apart from the already mentioned animations i've never seen such realistic fire propagation in a videogame neither a so "rude/advlt" content (with the exception of Red Dead Redemption, but this was in 3rd person)

My interest in the game has definitely piqued after watching the debut trailer. By the looks of it, the game will have parkour so I can't wait to vault over fences.

Assassin's Creed (rooftops and death from above).
Hitman (stealth and keyhole observation).
Bioshock (time/elemental powers in hand).
All the best elements from some of the best games ever made all in one.
Definitely one to watch for!
Would love to see this on the Insiders site to get even more info!
